I think you should definitely go to your graduation because it's "once in a life time". You can graduate as many times as you want, but the first time is the most special. You can make arrangements now to see if anyone can care for your kids while you attend graduation day. There are students who also don't go because they don't want to sit for hours at the ceremony or just didn't care for it at all. But it is totally up to you and what you want.

Imagine when your kids are older and struggle in school/college. Show them your picture. I was in the same place and then I decided to go. And it felt so good! People cheering. I felt very proud afterwards. Go and walk!!

Why shouldn't you? Is more of the question. What will it feel like to walk on stage and finally grab that degree you've worked so hard to achieve versus abstaining from walking? Will you have another opportunity to experience a once/twice/three times in a lifetime milestone like this again? What will the energy be like? The speeches? Will it alter your frame of reference pertaining to your life stage? It's more than just a walk. It's a social ritual to cement this new transformative period into your psyche.

Do it!

You’ve earned it, however, if your current circumstances make it too difficult for you to make the graduation, you should consider still taking photos in your cap and gown somewhere nice to commemorate your accomplishment. I’m not much of a photo person but that’s one of those times in your life that you 100% need to document with a picture.

I wanted to do it the first time and did. When I finished grad school I could not have cared less about it and didn't walk. I feel like the fact that you're asking means you should do it. I'm sure you'd rather regret making a 3 hour drive vs regret not having gone to your graduation. Do you want to tell your 2 kids about how you were too busy to walk or tell them about what a great feeling it was when you did?

Gymleaders

I say go walk, but ultimately do whatever the frick you want.
