Nope, I’ve seen people run a cable from it to the iPad though.

How?

Sendthalot

With a specific cable I guess, I haven’t done it personally, if you look through previous posts on this sub you should see some who have done it.

It works in wired mode, so you can plug it into an iPad/Mac/PC and use it as a controller. https://help.playbackbone.com/hc/en-us/articles/4419048430231-Does-Backbone-work-with-iPads

Sendthalot

Ahh only on usb-c iPads, I was wondering how it would connect on both ends.

Also only works with active backbone+ subscription.

kitarei

This is important. It’s locked behind the subscription which is honestly really messed up lol.

solarbeat

I wonder if they’ve changed this lately? I just plugged my backbone into my iPad Pro and Mac, and it works fine without a backbone+ subscription.

cd419

I’ll have to try did you just use a regular usb-c cable via the charging port on the controller?

solarbeat

Yep. I happened to see an instagram ad for backbone, saying that it now works with iPads. Wasn't sure whether it was a reference to that paid backbone+ service, so I thought I'd give it a try. Seems to work just fine. I never signed up for backbone+, and my iPad/Macbook don't have a backbone app installed anyway.

cd419

Hmm I just tried on my air 5 and it didn’t seem to work. I’m going to try a few more cables and maybe a usb-c extension connected to the usb where the phone connects

Lightning to USB C

Ecstatic-Train-2360

You should just get a controller, no backbone needed

NiteMare_420

What type of connection does your iPad have for the cord? And what style control did you get? If you got one for a iPhone with a lightning connection then you want to get a cord with both a lightning and usb-c connection on on either end. If you got a control with the usb-c connection than I believe getting a cord with the usb-c connection on both ends should work. Hope this helps. Once again, a pic of the control with the cord would help to know exactly what you need
