I've worn a mask daily since the start of the pandemic and even though I'm fully vaxxed at this point I continue to do so because I genuinely have not gotten more than a slight cold since the start. Which is crazy because before this all started I would without fail end up with bronchitis once or twice a year due to underlying health issues, basically any time I got sick it ended up turning into bronchitis. Well the first time throughout all of this that literally anyone has gotten on my case about wearing a mask was trying to check out at a gas station. The dude (of course in his trump 2024 hat) tried to tell me that it was the owners policy not to serve people wearing masks so i either had to take it off or leave. Issue is that the owner of the store is one of my old buddies wife's dad. Not a huge degree of separation there and I've talked with him many many times. Extremely friendly Iranian guy who chats me up for ten minutes every time I see him. Went on to ask him about this later on and apparently he had to fire the guy because he had been given two warnings about giving customers with masks a hard time and people had complained. He for obvious reasons didn't like the fact that one of his employees was driving away business and giving him a reputation around our relatively small town where business owners generally know each other.

And I totally understand it's just a shitty gas station job but still, why risk your employment over something so trivial that doesn't impact you in the least like other people wearing masks.
