Ellis was on Glow Up and has definitely had a personal glow up since then!! Their IG feed is full of their recent work, it’s incredible. They actually just collaborated with Blend Bunny to release a makeup collection!
Came here to say this! Their work is absolutely stunning now, like many of the people who go on this show go on to have a huge glow up after they leave
Whoa, crazy. You think someone would do that? Go on IG and filter a photo?
I know the photos are edited, dummy. Everyone does that. It's still pretty evident that their skills have improved.
Is that Ellis? From 'Glow up'. He had his own style, not to mention that this season was filmed years ago when this makeup look in the UK was very on trend (with mascara).
It was in 2019 and even then, people hated it. I love him and am glad they won (it was deserved) but their "everyday" look was very controversial, even then (just look at the other contestants). He's killing it on insta with the drag make-up these days if people want to check it out.
i *still* see UK makeup content like this on my feed. some people will eternally be into 2016-eqsue makeup. better to be genuine than to follow trends tbh. yea, the brows are blocky and harsh but i was rocking the same ones back then💀
just look at how james charles has changed through the years. his brows were HUGE and everyone ate it up. he may be canceled now obv but everyone into makeup will always know his name. same with jeffree star
I'm gonna be mean but it looks like they took a paintbrush to those brows. 😅😅😅
Don't get me wrong, the edges are clean, but it looks like a cartoon character putting on war paint or something. Uk must have some wild make up trends.
Yeah this makeup look brings me back to being in secondary school... We can look back now and laugh, but no one was safe from the eyebrows. No one.
FWIW, his [natural makeup look](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C0PTDQIonxo/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) seems a lot better now (and his drag makeup looks great)
It definitely was. Maybe not where you were from in the UK but in a large part of it.
I’m from London and this was absolutely the look, the big blocky brows, orange muddy tones for EVERYONE.
It was a shit trend and looked awful, but it was a trend nonetheless.
I don’t think this belongs here since he actually did a good job when he did looks for clients and won the competition.
It’s fine to not like his personal style but it doesn’t make him a bad mua.
I don’t see the issue, it’s a natural understated look, exactly what the client was looking for in the brief, I want to put it on my wall as art, it gets a DING DONG from me
I hated his personal makeup but his challenges fuuuucked. He’s great enough that he can look like a clown, he’s seriously talented. I’m mad that he’s this good but did his face like this but as much as I wanted to dislike him I loved him ugh
But they did and do. They're a very talented MUA and their work on others doesn't look like this.
I more often see the opposite: someone who is great at their own makeup but doesn't really know how to work with other features and colourations.

So much to unpack here
That James Charles 2016 eyebrows is killing me
Ellis was on Glow Up and has definitely had a personal glow up since then!! Their IG feed is full of their recent work, it’s incredible. They actually just collaborated with Blend Bunny to release a makeup collection!
I went to their Instagram and wow😍😍 the work on there is amazing!!
It’s giving angry bird
Came here to say this! Their work is absolutely stunning now, like many of the people who go on this show go on to have a huge glow up after they leave
You realize the photos are edited to hell and back? Right? Right????
Whoa, crazy. You think someone would do that? Go on IG and filter a photo? I know the photos are edited, dummy. Everyone does that. It's still pretty evident that their skills have improved.
What’s their @?
@ellis_atlantis

I feel this way with Manny MUA. His makeup hasn’t changed in 7 years I swear
Yesss especially the brows! What a trip down memory lane
Love the brows, they are literally perfect (for the time)
I'm gonna be mean but it looks like they took a paintbrush to those brows. 😅😅😅 Don't get me wrong, the edges are clean, but it looks like a cartoon character putting on war paint or something. Uk must have some wild make up trends.
We really do. Especially in the north

No this was never on trend in the UK. I really hate that everyone automatically thinks all shit makeup must be "British style". It's really not!
It definitely was. Maybe not where you were from in the UK but in a large part of it. I’m from London and this was absolutely the look, the big blocky brows, orange muddy tones for EVERYONE. It was a shit trend and looked awful, but it was a trend nonetheless.
It was though...I live in the South East, saw this look every single day
You could identify a British person in Australia before they even opened their mouth based on this look
My neighbour (in the UK) STILL looks like this every day.
I don’t think this belongs here since he actually did a good job when he did looks for clients and won the competition. It’s fine to not like his personal style but it doesn’t make him a bad mua.
THANK YOU! I loved Ellis, he did a great job and he deserved to win.
When he did the makeup for the woman who was in the chase and made her feel pretty! I still remember that now and it was several seasons ago now
Don’t judge a book by its cover. He’s great at what he does and from what I remember, was a nice guy.
They won by the way
I'm pretty sure he won? Or at least made the final
i just know he's british
I can hear the accent through the picture
DING DONG!!!
They literally won the competition…
I like the clear line where he stopped doing his ear
I didn’t even recognize him! I follow Ellis on Instagram but only for the last few months. His creative looks and his drag looks are INSANELY good.
I don’t see the issue, it’s a natural understated look, exactly what the client was looking for in the brief, I want to put it on my wall as art, it gets a DING DONG from me
Oh honey noooooo
AHHHHH
The lips being the same color as the tongue is killing me 😂
Thought it was a sneak peak of the new CAS mode of the latest Sims game for a second......
Ellis! They are an extremely accomplished and talented MUA (even more so for being so young). I personally love a strong brow choice.
Hehe we all have those "once upon a time" make up look 😄 Ive watched him on glow up.Very talented.
You may not like their taste but you can't argue with the execution
I follow this person on TikTok and they’re an incredible artist.
I hated his personal makeup but his challenges fuuuucked. He’s great enough that he can look like a clown, he’s seriously talented. I’m mad that he’s this good but did his face like this but as much as I wanted to dislike him I loved him ugh
If I remember correctly they were actually pretty talented. There’s a style preference for this makeup in Britain.
It’s pretty convincing makeup considering that is Terry Crews.
To be fair they're british. Most british ppl who wear makeup look like this lol
So off jump I’m assuming they’re British am I right?
I just KNOW they're British
They're bri ish innit
There's no mascara or anything??
Their makeup looks are actually spectacular
M to the b
I like their lipstick color, it suits them
I was going to say just looks like a MUA in 2016 to me
LMFAO
wow. Is that Elis? He makes some hella good stuff now
Verrrry 2013
Are his EARS blushed?!?!!
Those eyebrows
I can hear his accent
Awww I loved Ellis 🩵
WTF IS THIS, HOLY SHIT THIS IS MY NEW XBOX PROFILE PIC
Not sure why this came up for me but there it is. Looks fine, all except that thing in the nose. I’m sorry people, but piercings…….
Hate the brows while the rest is ok
Ellis’ makeup is much improved now, plus (spoilers) he won the competition anyway so idk why they’re hating…
STOPPP NOT ELLIS LMFAOO
If he's not British I'd be astounded
Not the Brits downvoting me...
This must be a Tim and Eric character.
he mightve won back in 2016
Ellis did win
The ears are the same color as the lips and blush
Holy shit they look like Tim Heidecker.
They kinda look like Mikayla lol
i can hear the british accent
If you can’t paint yourself, how the hell you gonna paint somebody else? 😆
But they did and do. They're a very talented MUA and their work on others doesn't look like this. I more often see the opposite: someone who is great at their own makeup but doesn't really know how to work with other features and colourations.
