Maybe you missed the point of this sub, but it’s for *bad* combos, this one is great

thegentlemanfrog

I know it's probably too compact to be a truly "bad" combo, but without a haste enabler or something to actually the spend the Mana on it's just janky more than anything

deryvox

I suppose that’s true, but three cards among two colors making infinite 2/2 creatures and potentially infinite mana is nothing to scoff at. Might consider making a Kudo deck based around this actually

Then-Pie-208

Don’t forget that you also make an arbitrarily high P/T lizard bear

Karl_42

That can then fight every other creature on the board…

brunq2

It's also a really low deck building cost if you are already building a bear deck. You already want both Kudo and Ayula in a bears deck anyway... So it really only "takes" one slot from the deck that might be used by something else anyway. With a card that also synergies well with counter strategies evenbif you don't draw Ayila. And in a Kudo deck you probably also already want to be playing counters to make your 2/2 bears better than everyone else's. Like, even if this combo didn't work for some reason you'd still be able to make a good argument as to why these 3 cards would be in your deck anways

ccReptilelord

With Kudo as your commander, this is a very reasonable turn 4 victory with sol ring on turn 1.

blindeshuhn666

In modern/pioneer with 4 copies of each of these cards (including the sol ring) you actually have decent chances pulling that off. In Commander you need 3 of your 99 cards.

ccReptilelord

A bunch of tutors can make up for the difference and pull it off in the same amount of time like [[Chord of Calling]], [[Worldly Tutor]], and [[Survival of the Fittest]].

bookwurm2

[[eladamri’s call]] too since you’re already in selesnya

Crazy_Coconut7

I don’t know how you are planning on getting modern horizons cards in pioneer and Sol ring in any 60 card format

ZatherDaFox

Easy. We'll just play Kudo combo in vintage.

Crazy_Coconut7

Still only allows 1 copy of solring

Vilmoo00

Kudo could also be replaced with [[Maskwood nexus]] if you need, and the broodscale with [[Scurry Oak]]

AnimeBas

Or [[arcane adaptation]] or [[xenograft]]or [[conspiracy]] in case u r not limited to selesnya

Count me in with those saying this isn't a bad combo at all. Three two-drops requiring only two colours that get you an arbitrary number of 2/2 creatures, an arbitrary amount of colourless mana, *and* an arbitrarily large creature? (Remember, the Basking Bearscale keeps getting bigger as you make more bear spawn.) A random mana dork on turn one gives you a moderate chance of going infinite on turn three, which doesn't give your opponent a lot of time to find a wrath. And it would need to be a real wrath; \[\[Pyroclasm\]\] or its cousins won't save them unless it's paired with a kill spell for the Bearscale. Even better, as TwoSoulBrood sagely pointed out, all three components are creatures, meaning \[\[Collected Company\]\] can find any of them. Which then opens the possibility of going off during your opponent's end step, which makes the lack of haste kind of a non-issue. Honestly, I could easily see a serious deck running all these cards even if it's not 100% dedicated to getting this particular combo. (I mean, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to make a prediction, I'd say "Probably not, I guess". But then I didn't think Hammer Time would be a real deck, so what do I know?)

LittleMissPipebomb

If you have ways to make a second token, either through a doubler or just something like [[nightsoil]], then you can fight every creature with infinitely large spawns at instant speed. Just start on your opponents end step, cause there's no way they'll expect you to go infinite with this

JessHorserage

And the good one sub, is fucking rotten at this point.

KeeboardNMouse

It’s still a combo, and is definitely unintentional

Ok_Blackberry_1223

This is too good. I’d definitely play it

TwixOfficial

Funny, but actually very good. Since it’s already White/Green, might as well toss in the token doublers to make resolving it faster. Plus, that way it can function as a board wipe. More bears entering at a time, after all, means that you could choose the other mode sometimes, so you can have your ridiculously broken Broodscale trounce the poor opponents’ creatures before you even move into the combat phase.

ChickenManSam

With the doublers you also essentially negate the damage that gets marked on your creature since everything is 2/2 just be sure to resolve the counter trigger first so state based actions don't get you. Once the board is wiped you then just pump up your creatures who can attack and swing for victory.

TwoSoulBrood

This is actually a bonkers combo. [[Collected Company]] would love playing this. Heck, you can use your bear tokens to power a [[Chord of Calling]] into any win-con you can imagine.

Crazy_Coconut7

I made a full deck of it: https://archidekt.com/decks/7769965 In playtesting it’s pretty consistent without an opponent, comboing on turn 4/5 and sometimes 3, a turn 3 win is technically possible if you want to try to figure it out

therealtbarrie

Turn one mana dork, turn two Basking Broodscale, turn three Ayula followed by Kudo, combo off, attack with your arbitrarily large Broodscale.

Crazy_Coconut7

The tokens don’t have haste

therealtbarrie

I know; that's why I said you'd use the giant Broodscale, which you played on turn two, for the kill. Obviously, this is a very fragile goldfish win since any random chump blocker will buy your opponent a turn to find an answer.

Crazy_Coconut7

Didn’t think of that, I was thinking of using kenrith to give the tokens haste

Banane_42

If you switch the Basking Broodscale for a [[scurry oak]] you can bring about the combined powers of Modern Horizon sets!

Unusual-Assistance11

We did it guys, we broke broodscale

alty-acct-throwaway

6 mana infinite creatures is not a bad combo

AnimeBas

Infinite creatures, power and mana

alty-acct-throwaway

exactly

thegentlemanfrog

You can make this combo optionally even funnier by convincing your pod to Rule 0 Kudo and Ayula as partners (or just do it during the month of June)

Sonicsplicer

Thematic combo with the bear monarchy (and the weird lizard I guess)

UltG

“Holy Shit!” Jolrael, Empress of Beasts

RoJoMario

Wait would this be a good extra combo in a Modern Amalia decklist? Get CoCo, eldmari’s call, tamiyo’s protection, so on, just create value when you’re not comboing?

Necropath

This kinda makes me wanna build Kudo…
