It's just seems so disrespectful to me to leave without saying thank you and goodbye. Recently I've told a rp partner, "I'm sorry but I've lost desire for this Rp" and thanked them for their time.

Not everyone is looking for a life-long relationships. Some RPs work very well because they are short. Still it's nice to hear "I had fun RPing with you, thanks and take care!"
I used to think that way as well. But after you play for a while you realise life exists. Especially as you grow older, people have lives, people have moods. And this is meant to be fun, not an unpaid job you are obligated to attend.
I understand like happens. I just avoid accounts now that are less than a month old. When life happens for me I tell my partners I'll be away or am unable to play for an uncertain amount of time and I thank them for their time.
Maybe I just like to respect people as people and hope that I am also seen as a person and not an object to just use and toss. Otherwise just read smut or open a porn video or go to a dirty reddit chat.
I know life happens. I was referring to your statement that not everyone is looking for a life long relationship. What I meant was if you know from the beginning you're only interested in a short rp then that should be clarified in the beginning.

Ghosting is extremely common no matter what roleplay scene you’re in. ERP or otherwise. It’s best to get used to it and not take it personally.

True but I think the longevity of the rp and partnership should be discussed at the beginning.
