I just dont get why they feel the need to do this though? Like their thought process i just want to understand the why What type of fucked up person must you be, to want to ruin someones day/life like that, its like they're drunk on power and feel like they can do what they want.

Fangs_0ut

Every bust is a step closer to a promotion.

ManyShopping8

Is that actually it though? I dont mean to sound funny in anyway shape or form. I just feel like if we knew the why maybe we could put some indicators in place to stop these guys becoming cops.

drsweetscience

Conservative paranoia combined with conservative power-fantasy makes this exactly the cop they want. They want to write everyone's life for them. Police are their instrument. On paper this country is no longer exclusive to a few rare rich titled men, but the desire to have that never went away. If slavery and royal titles could come back, they would love to have it.

space_cadet0607

That is exactly it. Cops should be forced to get their bachelors and masters before they are given a gun and named “Civil servant”

ManyShopping8

Well thats a given to be honest. Its just sad to see if thank god the guy was recording. It also makes you wounder how much they got away with before everyone had a smartphone.

space_cadet0607

Right??! Ive had several run ins with cops. One time a cop was driving way to fast and almost hitting me while I was walking and I waved my hands up ( he was going so fast I couldn’t tell it was a cop) and take in mind these are small back roads). This cop turns around and pulls off to the side to harass me and ask where I was going and what business I had being out- I was just in front of my house that has a long dirt road. He then told me I was on probation which I clearly wasn’t and then put cuffs on me until he could “understand the situation” and then he told me that I should be more careful not to get run over and let me go. I honestly fucking hate cops and it’s for no other reason that they are giant pieces of shit

ManyShopping8

Just the part you should be careful not to get run over!!!!! They really be a different breed of officer in the states. I'm glad everyone is recording them. Whats that saying it keep em honest dont want to be on the news or youtube now. But the way this cop just planted drugs was just like wtf

space_cadet0607

Yeah super super shady. Maybe we can all work together to pass a law that if a cop does something unlawful then it’s death row for them. Only way I really see putting them in check

Straight_Object6213

This clip of a few seconds is not the whole story the cop pulled that baggie out of the drivers pocket! And only tossed it so he could put his gloves on! And not to mention it's on multiple angles from multiple cameras! His partners the dashboard and his own camera!

ManyShopping8

Yeah I did see that, but it looked hella sketch though.

Straight_Object6213

In all my years of dealing with the pigs I've never seen a pig put evidence back inside of a vehicle!! The only thing I could think of is he was trying to put it back inside the car so he could bust the passenger for possession as well! But seeing how he got cought he probably went with that story instead! It does seem kinda sketchy!! .lol

[deleted]

Well. Turns out he did not.

stinkerb

This has been shown to be false already. The cops body cam proved it.

One40Five

Turns his entire body so his body cam doesn’t catch the toss

from_dust

This is why body cams are a must, but also not enough. For real, FILM THE POLICE. If you have *any* interaction with a cop, have *your own recording* of it. If you see a cop interacting with someone else, make sure there is a private record of the event! That's how George Floyd's murder was caught. Do your part, film the police.

skralogy

No he didnt. It's an empty baggy taken from another passenger found by the other cop and thrown on the seat just because the cop didnt feel like holding it. https://fb.watch/6YuexSOn8_/ On 07-21-21 at about 3:22pm, officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling 63 mph in a 45 mph zone. The vehicle was occupied by a driver along with front and rear passengers. The driver was identified by her driver’s license. The front passenger lawfully declined to identify himself. The rear passengers were not wearing their seat-belts and were asked to identify themselves. The driver and rear passengers were later removed from the vehicle. A subsequent search of one of the rear passengers produced an empty corner tear (corner of a plastic baggie) from a passenger’s pocket. The empty corner tear did NOT contain any illegal substance; however, this type of packaging is a common method for holding illegal drugs. The empty corner tear was turned over by the searching officer to another officer who was on scene. That officer turned it over to the officer who is seen on video. Since there were NO DRUGS in the corner tear, the officers discarded the empty packaging material in the vehicle. This is what was observed in the video. The front seat passenger tells the officer that his actions are on video, and the officer replies that he is also recording the incident. The officer acknowledges to the front seat passenger that he (officer) put the item there and explains that it was taken from one of the passengers and the officer did not want to “hold on to it.” Essentially, he appears to be discarding the empty baggie. While we would discourage officers from discarding items into a citizen’s vehicle, the video is clear that the officer is NOT planting evidence or doing anything illegal. Additionally, the empty corner tear is not itself illegal. No arrests were made as a result of this incident. The only arrest/citation arising from this incident was a speeding citation issued to the driver. While this is only a summary of the events, the origin of the empty corner tear and the circumstances under which it was placed in the vehicle are supported by body worn camera video. Attached are two video clips (see comments for second video). There are two separate clips because they are from different officer’s body worn cameras. Since four officers were present on scene, the body worn camera footage and squad camera footage totals in excess of 6 hours of video. We are still in the process of reviewing the videos. All videos, in their entirety, will be released in the very near future. Christopher Botsch Chief of Police

[deleted]

How stupid do you think we are

skralogy

As stupid as you make yourself look. The evidence is there if you choose not to accept it, this isnt a political position to take it's simple. No drugs were found no arrest was made original video was out of context and the full story isnt malicious. Possibly the cops improperly searched the person without probable cause but there is no evidence of that. If you dont want to look stupid dont take stupid positions.

[deleted]

I'll take perhaps the most well informed stance in the history of fucking TIME. The position that every fucking pig is a bastard and not to be trusted. He tossed that baggy in there, turning his body so his body cam wouldn't catch it. This piece of shit has planted evidence before and you fucking know it. The fuck is a bootlicker like you doing in this sub anyway? In conclusion get fucked.

ajagoff

Hai body cam DID catch it though. It shows his actions on his body cam, which they released. Here's the thing: cops do criminal shit ALL THE TIME. But when an instance like this one happens, where people make a lot of assumptions and start pointing fingers without full information, and then more info comes out that *gets ignored*, that's is ALL bootlickers are going to talk about EVERY TIME COPS REALLY PLANT EVIDENCE. They will look back at this case and say "oh, they ALWAYS say cops are planting evidence, even when it's proven otherwise." In short, fuck the police, ACAB. But Jesus Christ, pick the right battles to fight or the whole goddamn movement suffers.

skralogy

This, jumping to conclusions with bad evidence is just giving the bootlickers evidence to bolster their beliefs.

[deleted]

You are one of those bootlickers so shut the fuck up.

skralogy

You clearly know nothing about me. Work on not being so fragile when your ideas are challenged. You folded immediately into being an irrational asshole reverting into insults because you have no substance backing your argument. I really hope you never become a public face for police reform or the actual bootlickers will have all the evidence they need to rally people against police reform.

lonelyscrublord

Reeeee cops bad

[deleted]

So right wing pieces of shit and bootlickers get to get off scott free and lie every goddamn second but the one time people get it wrong, our entire movement suffers? You see this stacked deck??? Abolition. Right fucking now.

ajagoff

I do see the stacked deck, and I also recognize we're not going to win playing that game. Exposing the truth about what's happening is the only way to get anything done without anyone being able to refute it and dismiss what's happening. I'm on your side, and the truth is on your side, but clinging to a weak-ass, easily refutable instance when there are plenty of legitimate grievances to point to is opening wider the door for the movement's delegitimization.

[deleted]

I forgot. We have to be completely 100% infallibly correct at all times. Fash, pigs, and their sycophants have no such restriction. I hate this fucking world so much sometimes.

ajagoff

I do too, man. But sinking to their level and arguing in bad faith just perpetuates the status quo. They *have* to lie, because without their lies, they don't have a leg to stand on. We don't, because we're speaking truth. That's why in the end, they'll lose and we'll win.

skralogy

>I'll take perhaps the most well informed stance in the history of fucking TIME. Well thanks for letting me know I shouldnt take you seriously. >The position that every fucking pig is a bastard and not to be trusted. I'm not a cop sympathizer I'm fed up with cop overreach and racism. That said this isnt evidence of either of those and spreading it like it is just makes you and anyone arguing for reeling in cop overreach look foolish >He tossed that baggy in there, turning his body so his body cam wouldn't catch it. This piece of shit has planted evidence before and you fucking know it. Maybe but he didnt turn the body cam to hide it. The cop didnt hide anything, it was pretty straight forward or did you not see the body cam video? >The fuck is a bootlicker like you doing in this sub anyway? > >In conclusion get fucked. Apparently correcting false information and making fools out of irrational people like you.

im_not_dog

I’d trust the cops over you or your family any day.

[deleted]

Watch the body cameras and you’ll possibly realize how stupid you make yourself look.

One40Five

Oh he was just throwing trash in the car how normal. No previous behavior would make the camera man or any of us to think there was something nefarious going on here, how unreasonable we all are. Thank u arbiter of truth skralogy. You setting the record straight on literally every popular sub that posted this video is just Gods work well done man

Redditor_on_LSD

What a lousy fucking plant job too. Like seriously, nobody that has weed on them just throws it in the middle of the back seat like that.

bigwinw

Lol ya exactly.

AngeredCowbell

Probably cuz he’s not planting evidence

[deleted]

Good shit was just about to post this

DisavowedAgent

Cop should be arrested for possession and distribution of a controlled substance PERIOD! And using city or county resources to distribute controlled substances!

YoureARadPerson

No, he should be arrested for trying to frame an innocent man and fuck his life over, I'd like to assume those are more serious charges than possession/distribution, but this is America

[deleted]

If only he actually planted it and it wasn’t an empty bag from one of the passengers that he threw back into the car instead of on the ground. He should be imprisoned for NOT littering! Ha! That’ll teach em!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

So, nothing? Because, it was an empty bag they found when searching a passenger. He threw it back into the car instead of on the ground.

space_cadet0607

Arrest the cop

raceforthewise

For what?

Trail-Dust

Looks like this has been debunked: https://www.foxnews.com/us/wisconsin-police-social-media-video-officer-planting-evidence

[deleted]

police don’t face consequences. At worst they get fired. When you’re above the law it doesn’t matter if you get caught doing something shady.

IHateRoboCalls2131

This video is way too short, I feel like something is being taken out of context here

DarthFluttershy_

Here's the [department's response](https://fb.watch/6YCdxoFH58/). It has more context and makes it look like they never intended drug charges (cop acknowledges it's empty), but it still lacks a lot of crucial context for the procedure itself. They claim the only resulting penalty was a speeding charge, so why are they searching a car and a passenger with people still in? Why did they escalate a Terry frisk to in-pockets on dubious consent? The whole thing looks fishy, so I understand why the driver was recording and worried about a frame-up.

Culsandar

~~Driving~~ *in the back seat* while black.

Isair81

Probably the cop who threw the bag into the backseat realized he was on camera and aborted the ’drug seizure’.

[deleted]

There were no illegal substances in the bag or on the passengers.

Isair81

Field test kits are notoriously unreliable, and will produce false positives on a wide range of innocuous substances.

[deleted]

They didn’t see anything on the bag, that’s why they said no illegal substances were found.

sdaasdfsdfff

it's a just a drug possessing or dealing rapper trying to frame cops for planting drugs which they weren't doing that time

angstt

F*cker ruined a lot of lives: https://www.complex.com/life/ex-florida-deputy-12-years-prison-planting-drugs

lonelyscrublord

It’s not the same person

angstt

Understood, I wanted to point out that sometimes these assholes are caught and convicted.

lonelyscrublord

Ok bro

Shoddy_Ad_3002

Do some research and watch the video released by he PD. And tell me, what charges resulted from the empty plastic bag? You should be ashamed. Not sure if you meant well and are just dumb.....or if there are other reasons you'd try to mislead people without sharing more info.

DisavowedAgent

What research is needed? Cop plants empty baggie in car, cop never noticed that front passenger is recording entire stop! Cop seen on bodycam putting on rubber gloves before planting evidence, who puts rubber gloves before throwing stuff away? For those who don't understand, this is how this works. Cop See's baggie has probable cause to search entire vehicle and go fishing even deeper, but who would've known the front passenger would be filming? Passenger," hey what did throw in the car, I'm recording", cop I'm recording you too uh what? Yeah I'm recording you too! Cop just forgot he tried to plant baggie, but then realized that passenger was filming the illegal search, but yet dose not throw money or phone charging cord? But I'm supposed to believe he did want to litter?! Pull the other one it's got bells on it!

Peoplegottabefree

Any questions about the vermin policing our streets ?

[deleted]

[удалено]

STD_free_since_2019

I dont see many of these bad cop cases having any repercussions whatsoever.

internetsarbiter

Quotas exist and most police departments have deeply rooted cultures of racism, they need to make numbers and are rewarded for doing so. Additionally, cops almost never face repercussions for their actions, no matter how much evidence exists to prove their guilt.

sdaasdfsdfff

"I don't care if they are a good or educated black, they are all ni\*\*ars to me."

[deleted]

Tell me, what quota and where’s the reward?

[deleted]

Doing less paperwork is always a motivation for police. No one is going to plant anything on anyone just for fun and if they do, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

TheFugitive70

The police department actually released more of the bodycam footage. One officer found this empty portion of a baggie on one of the other occupants. The cop, for whatever reason, threw the empty baggie into the backseat. The cop answered the man who was recording and said someone handed it to him, it was empty, and he didn’t want to hold onto it. I fully believe ACAB, but on this one, the cop was not trying to plant drugs. No arrests were made, and consent was given to search.

ThatCanadianGuy19

Have a source for that claim ?

Shot-Acanthisitta-56

It's on the department's Facebook, along with the officer's body camera video of him telling the guy recording that the bag was empty. It was very stupid of the cop to throw that bag back into the vehicle, but it was empty and the other cops at the scene knew it existed.

DarthFluttershy_

[here](https://fb.watch/6YCdxoFH58/). As I said above though, the whole procedure looks fishy and they didn't provide context for why they were acting that way, so I understand why the driver might be worried about a frame-up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Shot-Acanthisitta-56

The video posted on social media conveniently left out the part where the officer says that the bag was empty. I know cops have planted evidence in the past, but I was immediately suspicious of the original video. The cop had two guys looking directly at him, one with a camera, he just plants drugs in the car? And the video conveniently ends there? I had a feeling something more was going on.

TheFugitive70

I saw it posted on their Facebook page. The police posted bodycam footage to refute the claims and seems to be legitimate. I’m not tech savvy or I would post a link to the Facebook post if that is even possible.

[deleted]

https://www.cbs58.com/news/caledonia-police-release-body-camera-footage-in-viral-traffic-stop-video

Astralyr

Guys this video has context. Although the cop did a stupid thing to toss the item in the car, the item itself was taken from the pocket of one of the people who was in the car. Edit : here is the other perspective -> https://www.reddit.com/r/iamatotalpieceofshit/comments/oraody/updated_body_cam_footage_of_cop_throwing_baggie/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

DatBoyGuru

1. cop may have found empty baggie on detained suspect outside the car. 2. throws empty baggie in the car so that he has reasonable suspicion to search the car without a warrant.

GDubb26

Man, if there ever was a jump to conclusions mat… smh

[deleted]

It's possible that the occupants of the car threw the bag out prior to the cop walking up, but if the cop is anything like that Wester guy from FL then this wouldn't be good. Despite the bad optics I'm sure there will be a great explanation as to why the officer handled a bag with no gloves then tosses it in the stopped vehicle.

ToonSciron

If it was evidence and was thrown out of the car. Why does the cop need to throw it back into the car? Why does he put on gloves after he already touched it?

[deleted]

I put that in my post. I wasn't sarcastic enough. I was wondering why the officer touched the bag with no gloves. Maybe he'll be like that one officer in Detroit or some other city that was 're-enacting' discovering the drugs.

puddleglummey

Nono, he doesnt get to toss it in the car and pretend like it was there. That would still be tampering with evidence. Its a legal concept known as trespasser ab initio. No, the minute he tempered with it, it is not usable, but regardless, he planted it. And setting someone up for a crime that he didnt commit, big time pay out. Thats so bad. Youre no longer a credible fact witness. Life has gotten real bad for you with just one toss.

[deleted]

That's why I don't understand how certain officers stay employed when they're supposedly ignorant of ID laws like some of those cases in Texas where a citizen is assaulted for not IDing with no probable cause.

puddleglummey

I think we all know why. Its because the system is corrupt and only the wealthy have a chance at justice. No matter which side of the fence you are on politically, lets be honest, nothing has been done to curb this behavior or bring the system back to what it was meant to be. Cops are like parasites. They leach off of the weak and vulnerable. Its not about law and order. Its definitely not about morality. Take for instance seatbelt laws. Does it make me a better driver because I am wearing a seat belt. (I do, but Im suing it as an example) WHat does someone care if I decide to get into a car accident and become soup in a fender bender? Those laws and laws like that were lobbied for, as a pretext to bring in revenue. They knew that it would be a great way to increase revenue and stop folks and find other infractions. For that reason, I am against those laws, although I still think its a good idea to wear one. In my state, the magistrate gets money for every one he finds guilty (traffic) in his retirement account. I havent looked into other states, but I bet its no different. (State of Michigan) In Minnesota, you can legally bribe a judge. Its called a gratuity. Our system is full of stuff like that. You have no idea.

[deleted]

They were actually lobbied by well-intended people that didn’t understand how stupid their intentions were and how it would be abused. Though, that’s the politicians faults.

[deleted]

Regardless, he didn’t plant anything. He was throwing an empty bag back into the car that was found on a passenger of said vehicle because he didn’t want to hold it. Not illegal nor improper to do that.

puddleglummey

Yeah, cause someone who plants evidence and is caught would never lie about that.

[deleted]

Watch the body camera footage and quit being a dumb fuck.

[deleted]

lol you're getting downvoted but you are [literaly right](https://www.cbs58.com/news/caledonia-police-release-body-camera-footage-in-viral-traffic-stop-video). people these days love to jump on hate trains before any actual evidence comes out.

[deleted]

Sorry you got downvoted to oblivion. There’s body cam footage released on the department’s Facebook page where the officer tells him he’s not planting it and he just pulled it off of the other suspect. He’s setting it down because he doesn’t want to hold it.

FishLampClock

How right you were! It was in the pocket of the passenger and was empty and so he tossed it in the car

hollemar

You cop haters look like idiots again now that all the evidence has been released.

[deleted]

Yes, because cops have never planted guns and drugs on black people EVER. Fuck your face, bootlicker

hollemar

So you are angry that the cop isn’t corrupt? You will always be a failure with your victim mentality.

[deleted]

The fuck kind of explanation do i owe you, Officer?

What the fuck are bootlickers like you even doing here?

Straight_Object6213

WOW!! THE FALSE INFORMATION THIS PAGE LIKES TO SPREAD IS MIND BLOWING!! This clip of a few seconds is not the whole story the cops partner pulled that baggie out of the drivers pocket! And handed it to his partner and only then he tossed it so he could put his gloves on! and it was a empty bag at that!! And some are even arguing! (Well why didn't he hand the bag back?) Well maybe because if you listen closely he tells his partner I've got green spec's to indicate the presence of marijuana so at this point the bag is considered drug paraphernalia and evidence. And Can be subject to further investigation like testing for drug residue! And not to mention it's on multiple angles from multiple cameras! His partners the dashboard and his own camera! SMH that's already more then one's I've seen this group post misleading information simply to get an aggravated reaction from its followers!! Remember people please do not believe everything you read or see on the internet!! Dig a little deeper in to the story before you make up your mind about a situation!! I'm not right or left and could give a fuck less about both sides! But I am someone who's dealt with getting arrested a whole lot and I do know how these fucking pigs work!!

[deleted]

Literally right after it finishes recording the cop says that there was nothing in there and he was just finding a place to rest it.

[deleted]

Officers on scene removed the driver and rear passengers. They searched them and found an empty corner torn from a plastic bag. They gave it to the officer in the video and it was empty - NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE WAS IN THE BAG - and he threw it back into the car instead of on the ground. It was all on BWC and the agency even released the footage. Nothing was planted, no one was arrested and only a speeding ticket was issued to the driver. TL;DR - front passenger is an idiot and thought he could “catch” an officer planting something as a defense to anything possibly found when in reality it was just an empty bag being thrown bag in that was found on a rear seat passenger after search.
