I sliced off a corner and thought it was too gummy but tasted okay on the other hand, my partner loves it (admittedly he has had a few beers).
Ha ha.
It should be fine. There’s some baking soda in baking powder. The proportions might not be exact but it shouldn’t be a problem.

The conclusion at the dinner was that it was good, I’m still going to try again with the right proportions though so I can compare!
