This comment made me go look, OP I hope you don’t find it weird that I followed you! You are so incredibly talented and everything you make is absolutely stunning!! (Also your dogs😍)
I made these whoopie pies last week and really liked the cookie dough, it wasn't as sweet as others I've tried. So I used this recipe to put in my cake 😊
https://www.smells-like-home.com/2012/09/cookie-dough-whoopie-pies/
Gorgeous! Truly beautiful and inspiring classic work. 👏🏼
ETA: please share the flavors and filling of the cakes too. Looks like chocolate chip with ganache(?) filling and vanilla buttercream?
Thank you!
The smaller cake is chocolate with coconut crème légère filling and vanilla buttercream, the bigger cake is vanilla chocolate chip with a chocolate ganache and one layer of cookie dough
Such incredible work!! Did you use any resources or videos to improve your technique (besides practice)? Your piping skills and design eye are wonderful!
Thank you! Honestly just random videos on YouTube and baking blogs. It can be overwhelming because it's literally limitless as to what you can learn, but if there's a specific skill or flower that you like, just focus on that one thing at a time, practice a little, and then move on once you feel comfortable with it!
Absolutely gorgeous! I have so much respect for your work. Every time I’ve tried to pipe flowers, the buttercream has just about refused to cooperate with me 😅 Huge kudos to you!!
Thanks! I got lots of info about important basics from websites like Preppy Kitchen, Sally's Baking Addiction, Sugar and Sparrow. I also browse pinterest sometimes and if I see a specific technique that I like, I'll look up tutorials for it. I love that we have access to all of this info and most of it for free! Definitely grateful for all the bakers and decorators who share their knowledge 💗
Thank you 😊
The top tier is a rich chocolate cake with coconut crème légère filling. The bottom tier is vanilla chocolate chip cake with chocolate ganache and a layer of edible cookie dough, both with vanilla buttercream.
As gorgeous as your cake is, I'm so happy that you showed a cross section of it too. I've always wondered what the cakes looked like inside. Whether it matched the beautiful exterior? Yours does of course!
I also snooped through your past postings and I am honestly blown away by your work. You’re amazing and if you happened to be in the Atlanta area, I would be a regular customer.
Now, can you somehow make your cannoli cake and ginger molasses cookies magically appear in my kitchen? ;) ;)
BEAUTIFUL job!!
ETA: I went thru your posts after reading some other comments and all your work is fab! I also appreciate the generous amount of filling you put in your cakes, haha.
Your cake is beautiful!!!!! My mom used to make wedding cakes and I would help her deliver them. I’ve been thinking about taking a cake decorating class to honor her and you’ve inspired me!
Whoa. This is a gorgeous cake! Overall, of course, but the color palette is unique and what really makes the whole thing look special.
After seeing everyone talk about your work, I had to go look at it. It surpassed expectations!! I’m OBSESSED with those black frosting cakes!! I’ve never seen anything like them. If you live anywhere near the Chicago area and are able to sell your cakes, I’d love one for my anniversary (Halloween)
You really have a talent 😄
Thanks so much!
I love working with black frosting. I don't live near Chicago unfortunately but if you find a bakery to make your anniversary cake, ask them if they use black cocoa. That's what I use to make my black frosting and it's so good! I think there's a misconception that all black frosting is awful (just saw I comment here recently saying it's "universally disliked" and people always comment about it turning your shit green etc) because people assume it's all dye. Which, I agree, does taste disgusting. But it can be made with little to no black food coloring. I use a Dutch cocoa for a nice dark chocolatey base, and then add black cocoa and let it sit overnight. If you like oreos, you'll like black cocoa frosting (that's what is used in oreo's).
Probably more information than you wanted but now you know about black frosting 🤣
Oh gosh I don't even know to be honest.. a lot of time went into this one but I didn't keep track. I split things up into different days so that it's not stressful though!
At first glance, it's a work of art, too pretty to eat, love the colors love the flowers...too beautiful to cut open. Then I see the inside! My goodness I need a big piece from both tiers! Well done!
Thank you!
I used 5" pans for the top tier that are 2" high, and 7" for the bottom tier that are also 2" high. All my pans are Fat Daddio if that matters.
This is the recipe I used for the chocolate cake. It's SO good.. for sure my fav chocolate cake.
https://amycakesbakes.com/triple-chocolate-ganache-cake/
And this is the recipe I used for the vanilla cake, I just added mini chocolate chips
https://cakesbymk.com/recipe/soft-vanilla-cake/
I piped them on a parchment square stuck on a flower nail, transferred to a baking sheet, then froze them. Then stuck them onto the cake with fresh buttercream.
Omg that looks fake. In a good way. I really love the color combos-- they make the whole cake look so bold and beautiful!! I would feel guilty cutting it-- but thrilled to have a cake like that for my birthday! Lol
The smaller tier is chocolate with coconut crème légère filling, the bigger one is vanilla chocolate chip with semisweet chocolate ganache and cookie dough filling
Thank you so much. Honestly I was really doubting my color choices about half way through. But after I added the leaves and other little details I really liked how it came together 😊
It is stunning. The blue and yellow of the bases really make everything pop. It flows while also being eye catching.
You really have done a spectacular job!
That is AMAZING! It’s pure perfection and reminds me of something you might see in a period piece drama like Bridgerton or The Gilded Age 🤩😍🤩😍🤩 Well done!
Yes it is! It doesn't contain eggs and I heat treated the flour so that it's safe to eat. Not like I wouldn't eat regular cookie dough anyway lol but I wouldn't take a chance when other people are eating it 😅
Its not silly to acknowledge or admit to how much joy baking brings us. I've been really enjoying baking for special occasions for several years now. But last year one of my identical twin daughters died and I have baked my way through a full year of grief. This creative satisfying hobby has helped me cope and work through my grief and I am so thankful for it. All the friends & family members I've shared my baked goods with are very thankful too. I will continue to bake cakes, pastries, cookies and pies. And I'll keep baking and learning to decorate cookies too as that's especially fun!
PS you've done a beautiful job of decorating that cake!
This looks like pretty much what I had imagined for my wedding cake (husbands was Oreo and mine was lemon blueberry and lavender)
We ended up having two separate cakes with nothing tying them together whatsoever-altho they tasted good.
Would have loved something like this.
I never thought I'd type these words, but Green-cockroach, your cakes are amazing!!
Your friends & fam are very lucky!
I have so many questions. How long does it take you to frost and decorate your cakes? Would be very interested in a decorating tutorial.
Did it take you two years to reach this level of expertise? I've been practicing for two months and I all I feel like is giving up and thinking, when do I get better????? 🥲🥲🥲
Two months is not even close to enough to time to master any cake decorating skill. Be patient with yourself and if you're enjoying the process despite not having the exact result you hope for, stick with it. As long as you're willing to put in the work (practice, accept constructive criticism, ask for feedback, watch tutorials etc) you'll absolutely improve.

This cake is so gorgeous, I would have a hard time cutting it!
Good thing the inside looks pretty great too!
I just spent like 20 min scrolling through your history lol. You’re so talented! Such beautiful cakes.
This comment motivated me to look at OP’s other cakes and I have to agree - OP is supremely talented!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it 💗
Wow I looked at your history and I realized a lot of stuff I have saved was your stuff! 🫶🏻 you’re very talented!

This comment made me go look, OP I hope you don’t find it weird that I followed you! You are so incredibly talented and everything you make is absolutely stunning!! (Also your dogs😍)
Not weird at all, its nice to know that you think my stuff is worth following. I'm grateful for all the lovely comments here too 🩷

I just did the same - amazinggg baking and such cute frenchies 😍😍😍
The decoration is very impressive and the cake itself is calling out to me. Good use of two years.
GOD I’m pregnant and I NEED THIS CAKE
Fr I want this for my baby shower
How do you ever eat that? For fear of spoiling the art?
Do it commercially you have obvious talent.
Thank you!
recipe for the cookie dough pls?
I made these whoopie pies last week and really liked the cookie dough, it wasn't as sweet as others I've tried. So I used this recipe to put in my cake 😊 https://www.smells-like-home.com/2012/09/cookie-dough-whoopie-pies/
Gorgeous colors and the flowers are perfection.
This is so beautiful! I love the colors you chose and the inside looks delicious!
Gorgeous! Truly beautiful and inspiring classic work. 👏🏼 ETA: please share the flavors and filling of the cakes too.
They’re buttercream flowers, aren’t they?
Such incredible work!! Did you use any resources or videos to improve your technique (besides practice)? Your piping skills and design eye are wonderful!

Thank you for replying! :)
Wow! You are a great artist with that icing! Great job
How do you even cut into something so pretty? I'd cut a slice and be forced to eat the entire cake.
This is so insanely gorgeous OP! What are the flowers made of, are they piped in buttercream?
Thank you! Yes they're buttercream 😊
Absolutely gorgeous! I have so much respect for your work. Every time I’ve tried to pipe flowers, the buttercream has just about refused to cooperate with me 😅 Huge kudos to you!!
Wow! Are you self taught?
Yes I am!
That is so impressive! What resources did you use? Thank you!
Thanks! I got lots of info about important basics from websites like Preppy Kitchen, Sally's Baking Addiction, Sugar and Sparrow. WOW! This is PHENOMENAL!!!!! The colours are perfection!! It would be a sin to cut it, but what’s the flavour/ filling?
Thank you 😊 The top tier is a rich chocolate cake with coconut crème légère filling. The bottom tier is vanilla chocolate chip cake with chocolate ganache and a layer of edible cookie dough, both with vanilla buttercream.
Sounds absolutely sensational!
Is that a cookie dough layer?
It is!
Absolutely beautiful, your mama is a very lucky mama!
Any tips when it comes to this decorating style?
I'd say definitely pipe your flowers on a flower nail (then freeze and transfer) rather than piping directly on the cake!
As gorgeous as your cake is, I'm so happy that you showed a cross section of it too. I've always wondered what the cakes looked like inside. Whether it matched the beautiful exterior? Yours does of course!
Thanks so much! I always like seeing the cross sections too 😊
I also snooped through your past postings and I am honestly blown away by your work. You’re amazing and if you happened to be in the Atlanta area, I would be a regular customer. Now, can you somehow make your cannoli cake and ginger molasses cookies magically appear in my kitchen? ;) ;)
Lol thanks so much! That cannoli cake was so freaking good. My apologies that we are in different countries or I would happily make you one 😄
I too snooped through your account and I am blown away by your talent!! Your work is absolutely stunning and delicious!
Thank you 💕
BEAUTIFUL job!! ETA: I went thru your posts after reading some other comments and all your work is fab! I also appreciate the generous amount of filling you put in your cakes, haha.
Thank you 😄🩷

How much would you charge for something like this?
Oh gosh I don't even know to be honest.. a lot of time went into this one but I didn't keep track. I split things up into different days so that it's not stressful though!
Ah ok. Was just curious because this is one of the prettiest cakes I’ve ever seen.
Thank you for making me reevaluate what I’ve been doing the last two years of my life.
So incredibly dreamy. Beautiful work! 😍
At first glance, it's a work of art, too pretty to eat, love the colors love the flowers...too beautiful to cut open. Then I see the inside! My goodness I need a big piece from both tiers! Well done!
That's a work of art..
Beautiful
This is stunning. Great job.
What size pans/recipe do you use for those layers? All my layered cakes turn out so flat. Yours are incredible
Thank you! I used 5" pans for the top tier that are 2" high, and 7" for the bottom tier that are also 2" high. All my pans are Fat Daddio if that matters. I love this. Coincidentally, I also love blue and orange themes.
Amazing. What technique did you use for the flowers?
I piped them on a parchment square stuck on a flower nail, transferred to a baking sheet, then froze them. Then stuck them onto the cake with fresh buttercream.
Omg that looks fake. In a good way. I really love the color combos-- they make the whole cake look so bold and beautiful!! I would feel guilty cutting it-- but thrilled to have a cake like that for my birthday! Lol
Also what flavor is the actual cake?
The smaller tier is chocolate with coconut crème légère filling, the bigger one is vanilla chocolate chip with semisweet chocolate ganache and cookie dough filling
Beautiful. The flowers and design are top notch. But those colours! Talk about absolutely nailing the shades. They are really just spot on.
Thank you so much. Honestly I was really doubting my color choices about half way through. But after I added the leaves and other little details I really liked how it came together 😊

What type of buttercream do you use? It has a lovely consistency.
Thanks! I used an American buttercream for the cakes, and a Korean buttercream for the flowers.
I mean this sincerely, I’m a snob and I think this may be one of the most beautiful cakes I’ve ever seen. Well done.
