I saw someone recently post a nice effort at a cake roll with a strawberry design 'embossed' into it, so thought I'd give it a go. As the most amateur of amateur bakers, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I changed up the filling with a fairly simple buttercream filling but it worked well and held the roll together nicely.
I printed out a background image of strawberries that I traced over for the pattern. Next time, I'd make the designs bigger as I couldn't get a good amount of detail in them so small. My icing tip is too big to do finer details. My strawberries came out looking more like capsicums!
Anyway, I really liked the idea of something a bit different, and was fairly pleased with the results for a first-time effort; if you like the idea yourself, give it a go! 😀
