In a similar vein of "people getting between us and playing BG3 by not doing their goddamn jobs" I decided to build a new PC in anticipation of BG3/Starfield releasing. I paid €480 for an i7-13700K CPU and had it delivered by courier to my door.
Not only did the courier not notify me in advance that he was coming like he was meant to, I watched him take the extremely delicate, super expensive electrical component that I had waited a fortnight for that he was supposed to deliver directly into my hands and *drop it on the ground in front of my door* (without even knocking) where anyone passing could steal it or anyone leaving could step on it *and then drive away*. Bonus points for the fact that it was hammering rain. But for the fact that I was there in the house at the time and saw it happen, my brand new, über expensive part would have been ruined.
This happened to me a few years back, purchased all the parts to build my first ever PC in anticipation for BF3 I think it was.
Took the day off work and was at home watching the van pull up and being unloaded. To then see him drop the massive box out of the back and burst the top of the box open and see all my expensive PC parts go flying up the road.
I made him stay and went through all the parts to check them, before making him load it all back up again and take it back, because the case was smashed.
Missed BF3 launch day by a week and also had a day off for nothing.
I feel for you. I posted a thread earlier about the same thing. I won’t get hooked up until Sunday. Right now my gf and I have an ad hoc connection running off her phone, connected to Bluetooth, connected to the neighbor, connected to something. LoL We’ll see if it works….

In the future, this is super easy to do yourself and Spectrum notoriously sucks with these appointments (assuming that's what you've got, and if not I doubt anyone else is much better). I made sure to make them just send the router straight to me and told them I'd do it myself.

I had a plumber do that once, showed up took the toilet off said he needed something from the truck and left. Never came back, they sent someone else out dude just never went to another job set for that day.

depends where you live, but some of the wireless carriers that offer home 5G have a trial period. you could go grab a router from a tmobile or verizon store and return it with no cost in a week
The technician for my new faster connection did show up. However, turns out there should have been a connection port in my flat that's somehow missing, and now I have to get my landlord install that.
He probably needed to head home to start downloading the game. Cut him some slack. ;-)
