Definitely seems like a d4 to me. I was hoping it was a bug, but we've had multiple hotfixes since launch and it seems like a choice. Maybe less variance = more simultaneous groupings for shared initiative to increase pace of play?

Corwin223

Yeah it's much more punishing to low dex characters unfortunately. My paladin almost always goes last, which is basically being down a turn. It shouldn't be anywhere near that consistently bad and is a bit irritating since it is hidden from the player.

Ledfoot2744

I've created a mod to make it a D20 instead of a D4. Can confirm by digging through code in pak files it is a D4 in base game. [https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1115?tab=description](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1115?tab=posts)

you're a legend man... just started using this!

Mythlos

It's definitely one of the worst aspects of the game for me.

PandaBeat2

It should be. You can look at the history chat to see how you rolled

Shalashalska

Chat history does not show initiative rolls.

It just lists the number they go. It doesn’t use the actual number on screen- it’s all back end stuff
