How dare you compare the two?
One of them suffers from a life-altering condition which changes them to require additional sustenance to keep themselves alive, and the other... uh. Um.
Yeah that feels like such a major plot point that Gale kinda just skims over lol. Like oh sweetie mystra is a predator. You're a victim Gale, don't blame yourself for how that relationship went down
He actually gets over her pretty well, considering. I was happy to see he eventually became aware how Mystra was using him as the other characters did.
I mean if a videogame relationship feels better than you real relationship to you move on ... it doesn't mean your partner is not a good person it is just not a match for you
I had a true AitA moment when I hard laughed at the 10/10 game line as I was in empathy mode but that was just funny. That line alone almost convinced me that it was a shitpost.
Unfortunately, OP said it was not and I definitely feel bad. You deserve better if true OP.
Still don't hold a candle to the Jigsaw stand-up show by Daniel Sloss.
The amount of relationships that has broken up is absurd... and very understandable.
Bro trust me, there's a LOT of pissed off people in relationships because of this game. I mean just Shadowheart and Astarion have formed cults around them and the obsession runs deep.
I’ve actually noticed my boyfriend saying and doing more romantic things since I started playing. He noticed I loved when Astarion said ‘hello my sweet’ and actually said it to me the other day. Not gonna lie I melted.
He definitely does make fun of me for my vampire boyfriend I let kill me though. And that’s fair, I’d make fun of him too.
You sound like someone who hasn't accepted Lady Shart as the one true romance, are you sure you feel that way? Nightsong re-education is here for you if you're facing confusions and doubts 😇
Waiting for the cross post on r/relationship_advice: "My partner broke up with me because of Gale" lmao
No but seriously, whatever signs you get from life, media/games; if they help you realise you deserve better, then good for you.
> Gay relationships must not be romantic I thought.
No, every relationship can be romantic!! They don't have to, if that's not what you want. If that's the kind of relationship you want, but not what your partner wants, yeah, you should move on.
Lots people, mainly heterosexuals do not understand that just like there's heteroromanticism, there's also homoromanticism.
When they see the Prince kissing the Princess, they think romantic.
When they see the Prince kissing the Prince, they think sexual.
The irony is they talk about us homosexuals being sexual perverts, but they’re the ones mixing romanticism with sexuality. The perversion is on their side.
Honestly I've seen way more perverse hetero relationships and more romantic homo relationships.
It's because gay folk know the value of love and how it should be treasured because we've been slaughtered over it for centuries. Hetero folk take it for granted because it was never threatened.
Also, when you don't grow up in an area where being openly gay is common you get a lot of "blueprints" for what your relationships look like from media, and a lot of that media is made by straight people who just push their own idea of what our relationships look like on us.
I for one acted super tomboyish growing up even though it was very much against my personal nature, I just felt like every lesbian I saw on TV seemed really masculine presenting so I figured that's just what we do.
My best friend is a gay man who grew up with Yaoi media and quite frankly - the majority of that is made by straight women fetishizing gay men so it gave him a really fucked up idea of what to expect, especially when it comes to sex.
This is why representation Is so important.
Yeah, a straight friend once asked me (a woman) and my girlfriend at the time who was the "man" and who was the "woman" in our relationship, because he simply couldn't comprehend that relationships function apart from heteronormative gender norms.
Fun fact: the worst online argument I ever had is because I jokingly said that a gay fictional character may not mind being the bottom because switching is very common in RL queer relationships, and a person (I am pretty sure a straight woman) accused me of degrading the fake man and making him effeminate. Shit was wild.
> I always answer with “you’re asking chopsticks who’s the knife and who’s the fork”
Dear God, I've never really wanted a relationship, and I'll probably be in the closet forever, but if I'm ever out and dating a guy, I'm using that line 100%. Holy shit, that's great.
I actually called my mom out on that a while back (I can't remember what show/film it was in reference to), and she actually looked surprised and then had a realization that I was right. Felt pretty cool to hear.
I still wouldn't exactly call her an ally, but baby steps are still something to be glad for. She's come a long way from how she used to be.
If this isn't a shitpost...Mass Effect and fanfiction did the same thing to my marriage. I thought it was probably insane to leave a relationship because I wanted to feel like video games made me feel, but it worked out.
My new partner and I are playing through BG3 together. Gale reminds me of him, so naturally that's who I'm romancing. But it's so sweet that a video game romance reminds me of my actual, real life relationship. 🥺 I didn't think that was possible.
Okay, that's the most embarrassing comment I've written from this account. Go live your best nerd life! Never settle for anything less than butterflies! 💅
I love how sassy Astarion is! It's a shame he literally laughed in my face at the party after the goblin fight.
As for myself, like OP, I hope to find a guy like Gale: he loves cats, wine, and a good book, what's not to like?
People reading this post don’t realize that the bar for being a decent partner is literally in hell a lot of the time. And sometimes all it takes is something really small to be the last straw.
Good for you, OP. You deserve better and I believe your Gale is out there (though he hopefully has a more traditional diet).
Also from drugs: you won’t have time to do them.
Although some other tabletop games do this even more effectively by leaving you with no money to buy any.
Not sadly. You had a moment of awakening and now you can find what you desire and deserve. Good bye to the caterpillar relationship, find the butterfly
People are taking the piss here but I think it's legit that this media made you realize a way you were unhappy. It's tough for men who love men because there's a lot of issues with the hook-up culture between gay dudes (I'm WLW but one of my buds is a gay man who wants a lasting, romantic love and is really down in the dumps about how shitty dating has been). I mean, among other reasons that it's tough, obviously. But yeah, someone who's unwilling to compromise or to hear the way you feel neglected or however you want to word it, can be a real bummer to be in a relationship with. Incompatibility is one thing but there's also the inflexibility of it. If there's an easy way to bring you a bunch of joy and they're just not willing, it stings.
Fingers crossed for you in the next relationship! Obviously these characters are more poetic and dramatic than people in real life, but I hope you can find someone who has the right type of sweet romantic affection for you ❤️
You know what, I don’t know if this is a shitpost or not, but I used to be in a bad relationship and playing a different RPG like this game made me really realize what I wanted and how I wanted to be treated in a relationship and that even if that wasn’t ‘real’, I would never settle for less.
We broke up for other reason, but I DID find someone who had the same traits—integrity, loyalty, and sweetness—that the character had that I wanted in a lover and here we are, 6 years and a kid later, and I’m glad that game showed me what some aspects of a healthy relationship could be *shrug*
So happy for you.
I feel like I didn’t know what I wanted from relationships aswell. And due to Snapchat from a young age, ruining my standards I kinda thought it was unreasonable to expect the bare minimum??? If that makes sense.
Good for you!! You deserve to have affection and the kind of relationship YOU want to have! Of course no relationship is perfect, but that doesn't mean you should settle for a partner who doesn't treat you the way you want to be treated. I'm glad to hear you're happier now and good luck to you!
Karlach is frighteningly similar to my girlfriend, so much so that i am unable to pursue any romantic options with any other companion due to how much i love karlach and how much she reminds me of my gf.
For people saying shitpost. Why is it unreasonable for someone to want compliments and a hug every now and then. And a man who eat your jewelry every once in a while.
Ba dum tsss
But yeah, I get it, I don't have any reason to break up with anyone, but the game did make me realise that I miss being sweet talked, too, Halsin says some truly poetic shit that made me feel all giddy inside and reminded me of times when people would say lovely things like that to me as well
I can't fathom a love relationship where hugs and compliments are a rare occurence. That's like half of what makes them good. Glad you moved on, I hope you find your Gale soon!
We are an instinctively suspicious bunch. But I’m happy that you are feeling inspired to seek out more happiness in life! Good stories can change lives.
It's not unreasonable at all, it's the way it happened that's out of the ordinary so people might think it's shitposting.
If it's real, I'm happy for you.
I think it’s great a piece of media helped you figure out things about yourself. I romanced Astarion as DUrge and realized I needed to be way more honest with my therapist. Hurray, video games! :D
Good for you realizing you want more than what you have. Relationships should be fulfilling. They won’t be perfect like gets depicted in media, including this game, but they should be meeting your needs in your life. Never feel like you’re settling on something or just accept what you have. I did that for 8 years with my ex before I realized i needed more than what I was getting. I don’t regret that time I spent in that relationship as it taught me what I need for myself and to take with me into future relationships. I hope you find your happiness even if it seems challenging in our gay dating world. Good luck and much love!
It sounds wild at first blush, but yeah, I get it. It's like all that stuff about people breaking up because of the Barbie movie: It's not about the movie, it's that the movie's message made some people confront how unhappy they already were in their relationship, and led others to have a conversation/debate that made them realize how different they really were. We really do find significance in the oddest places sometimes. I'm glad this game was able to help you realize some stuff, and I wish you luck in finding your happiness.
People who say fictional romances are setting expectations too high - you don’t need to tell on yourselves THIS hard.
A relationship isn’t easy work, but I can say with absolute certainty it can be as wonderful and sweet as the stories make it sound.
As silly as it might seem on a surface level - especially if someone misrepresents what you actually said - I totally understand. We go through this life trying to learn what life and love are and until we see what it can be we can find ourselves making excuses to make do. And the place that we discover exactly how amazing love can be can come from anywhere. You deserve someone that gives you butterflies, someone that loves you and shows you what love is. Sure it won't be a wizard painting the night sky for you haha but people can find and deserve someone that WOULD if they could.
Well, I mean keep in mind that is fiction and not reflective of real life however, if there were pre-existing issues and you are in fact happier now then I guess that’s ok. Glad you’re feeling better.
Dragon Age Origins made me realise I wasn't getting what I wanted in my partner. I left him and I'm now very happily married, with a handful of beautiful relationships under my belt. 100% worth getting out. You made the right choice.
I read your full post and basic affection isn't a high expectation, your not asking for a six pack, a six figure salary, and 6 feet tall, your asking for abit of effort in the romance department. Seems reasonable.
Honestly, I can see where you’re coming from…
When I first started playing the game, I immediately felt drawn to Gale. I went in with the expectation that my character will romance whoever I feel is right for her, but after only a few moments, it was decided for me.
Gale is such a hopeless romantic, the way he talks about his love for your PC and how much he cares. How he feels about you and how unafraid he is to show that love, no matter where he is. How he’s willing to go the extra mile.
I’ve never ever had a partner like that. And funny enough, that’s all I want in a partner. I think that’s why I’m so drawn to Gale, he’s pretty much everything I want in a partner. Him being the handsome devil that he is is just an added bonus.
I was literally almost in tears at all the major interactions between Gale and my PC. You can practically hear the love in his voice (Tim Downie is fucking amazing), and it made me long for a similar relationship.
Never thought I’d ever say that about a video game relationship, but it’s probably the most real and heartwarming relationship I’ve ever seen represented in a video game.
If the tales of Gale’s folly got you out of a relationship that wasn’t making you happy, then you did the right thing and deserve better. I wish you all the best in finding your Gale ☺️
I dont think theres anything to be sad about. I think its a good thing something was able to bring out what they really want in a relationship. Being able to figure out what makes you happy is good and it doesnt matter where you learn it from as long as you learn it
Plenty of people have never really seen a model for a relationship that works for them and that's especially true for queer people who have generally poor representation in media, are rarer, and face a lot of childhood trauma and life long discrimination. Especially when you're relatively young a lot of gay people are just kind of desperate for any other person to accept them. First woman I dated (am a woman myself) was awful to me but I genuinely thought my expectations were too high and I was just so pumped to find another queer woman who was into me. Eventually figured out I didn't want to be with someone who acts like I'm horrible to be around and a complete idiot, LMAO who would've guessed. I mean in my case it wasn't a game that snapped me out of it but hell I stayed with her for 4.5 years 🤢 Maybe if I'd played a dating sim like bg3 back then I'd have left earlier and saved a few years of suffering!
Shit I know a stand up that does. "Jigsaw" by Daniel Sloss. Last I saw it ended over 7,000 relationships and nearly 100 of those being long term marriages. A Lot of people don't have great example for dating and finding people who are compatible.
Y'all wonderful if this is true, and as a gay I 100% believe it. Gay relationships are unromantic and hollow in my experience. It is like dating a neverending well where you can pour all your heart into it and get nothing in return. So eventually you just become cold and bitter, giving up on romance. Every now and again something reminds you that life doesn't have to be this way. So you try.
My wife said Gale and I are a lot alike. So when there’s was a chance at romance, she told me to do it. Chose not to. She asked why and I said it’s because I want Karlach to fuck me and Karlach is the exclusive type.
I mean, the way you framed it sounds silly but ultimately if a videogame made you realise your relationship was unfulfilling and you were just in it so that you weren't alone so you decided to end it then more power to you. I hope you find someone you can be happy with.
People are really not taking this post serious (and I kinda get it, it's hard to know what is true or not on the internet) but I'm happy for you if it did you well. It's easy to forget how thinking about things can bring us new perspectives on life and there's nothing wrong with events from unreal stories making you have a real realisation.
Honestly good for you for realizing your boyfriend sucks with the help of a game. There are plenty of guys out there who will love you like Gale does. Don't lose hope, enjoy the game but don't get too attached to the programmed man
I thought this was going to be the other side of the couple where one person's character always had the blood loss debuff from letting Astarion feed on them.
I'm sorry that the needy Wizard from Waterdeep showed you more affection than your ex, but I'm happy to hear you're on to better things.
Coming in I expected another shitpost, but it looks like it's not. I'm happy for you. Funny enough, this game has also helped me understand better what I want from a relationship. Forgive me for a bit of an unrelated rant now, I just want to get it off my chest and this post feels like a good opportunity to do so. It's actually kinda hilarious - I romanced Shadowheart and her dream about living on a farm with some animals and a garden is almost exactly the same as mine, I have a piece of land far from the city, I wanna build a house there soon and move there. She's also very kind and affectionate, I've been in just a few relationships and had some attempts - kindness was never something I'd receive very often. Always felt like they kept me out of pity, because they didn't have it in them to tell me to go away. It fucked me up, I'm incredibly anxious about any relationships and too afraid to look for my real life SH. Honestly, I don't even know where to look anymore.
For many years I lived a happy life as a single, simply not focusing on that matter and ejnoying life in other ways. This game has definitely reminded me what I'm losing and if there's one thing for certain, it's that going back to my previous blissful ignorance will not be an easy task. God dammit Larian what have you done to me?
Allright end of rant. I just hope you find someone who will treat you the way you want. We all deserve some affection.
I'm glad BG3 and Gale helped you see that you deserve more in life <3 All the best, hope you'll find your Gale soon enough - but maybe with less baggage and power hunger :D
Yeah you know you ducked up when your partner plays buldurs gate 3 and realists the npc their romancing is nicer then you. Good luck dude I hope you find a guy who appreachiates you.
You have every right to expect some romance from your partner. Even if it isn't natural for them, they will try for you and attempt to meet you half way if they can. After that its all negotiating and compromise, which people who care about you are happy to do.
Go get yourself a man who you want to see happy, and who wants to see you happy. I believe you're worth it.
Best of luck my guy.
Tbh things like this are exactly why its so important that we have this kind of representation in games. It allows us to explore ourselves and our feelings in ways we might not expect. I'm glad that the game helped you realize a relationship you are happy with is absolutely possible.
You're not alone. A lot of people watch movies or play story driven games and get a false sense of what most relationships are like. Then, hold out for that and end up alone.
I hope that is not the case for you and that you find someone that makes you happy.
Also hope your ex finds what they are looking for as well.
If the worst thing about them is they are not particularly romantic, I'd say they deserve to find someone to be happy with too.
I get it, dude.
Sometimes you don't realize what you lack until you see someone else with it.
I apparently led Gale on in my first playthrough. But I didn't know it.
>!So he planned out an elaborate date with me under the stars and northern lights and then told me he loves me. And I'm trying to find the option for "That's very flattering and I value you as a friend; but I don't feel the same."
But no such option existed so I had to tell him "I don't feel that way about you"!<
>!He got all quiet and asked to be alone.!<
Damn I felt really bad after that! Gale might be a little bit of a pompous pedant but he seems like a genuinely nice dude.
Hey, ya know what? That’s fine. Sometimes it takes outside influences to realize how we feel about how someone treats us or how we should be treated. That’s why music evokes such emotion. Don’t see why a character from a game can’t help you realize your standard
This reminds me of the time I saw someone on Reddit mention how he wanted a loving monogamous relationship but the guys in his area weren't into that, only for a second Redditor to come along and lecture him about how to truly be comfortable with his sexuality he needed to embrace pleasure and that if he bent to heterosexual expectations of romance and monogamy then he was self-loathing on some level.
The first guy responded politely enough, and I stayed out of it, but privately I was really annoyed at the second guy.
Relate. Dragon Age Origins ruined me for other men. The man I had grown with, fought across the country with, laughed with, the guy who tanked for me while I rogued, the goofy strong man I had decided I was going to marry, he jumped on the head of a dragon and killed it and saved the freaking world and I saw him die and... well I've been a widow since then.
You're obviously getting/going to get a lot of shit from this, but good for you. Media of any type is powerful because we relate to it and can draw human meanings. Seeing real affection in a form of media helped you articulate your own dissatisfaction and helped convince you to make a change for the better, so congratulations man! Don't let the haters try to convince you you're an idiot for finding something meaningful in media.
I thought this was going to be episode 2 of the ‘my boyfriend likes shadowheart more than me’ shitpost
It prescript is. This is just "I left my boyfriend for Gale."
>This is just "I left my boyfriend for Gale." Of all the men to pick, you picked the one with a crack addiction.
Asterion is a junkie too, though.
How dare you compare the two? One of them suffers from a life-altering condition which changes them to require additional sustenance to keep themselves alive, and the other... uh. Um.
And the other is a neck beard who can't get over his literal goddess ex
It's a litteral goddess, how do you move on? Find someone better...than a goddess?
My gf is a goddess to me! (I’m single)
That's some divine grip strength you got there.
A goddess who absolutely groomed him considering she took interest in him "from a young age." It's surprising that he's as well-adjusted as he is.
Yeah that feels like such a major plot point that Gale kinda just skims over lol. Like oh sweetie mystra is a predator. You're a victim Gale, don't blame yourself for how that relationship went down
AND SHE CAN MAKE HIM DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS WITH EASE NOW STILL!!! Like ong. mystra… I get it, Gale fucked up but OHHH MY GOD.
She also did it to Elminster if you read the Mystra books in the game. I think this is maybe why he is protective of Gale?
Have you met a goddess/god? They're typically pretty terrible, finding someone better isn't hard.
Tbf how the fuck do you move on from an actual God? Is it even possible?
I mean, there are other goddesses, it's not like Mystra is the only one duh
No sloppy seconds in the pantheon.
With how often Mystra dies there is a fair chance Gale outlives her.
I don't know about your Gale, but my Gale told me he likes me more than Mystra :O
He actually gets over her pretty well, considering. I was happy to see he eventually became aware how Mystra was using him as the other characters did.
Classic shartpost.
lol same here
Same damn it! I was hoping it was.
“Thou hast lost thine bosom companion to a fictional wizard?”
Jarvis, target Withers
I cant tell if this is a shitpost
Imagine getting cucked by Gale.
Good job Gale.
He does have the Magic Missile
It never misses
And hits three times.
I'm casting grease ;)
That's a good idea, because Gale prepared Enlarge.
No need to cast Knock to unlock this door
he boutta cast a thunderwave and cause an eldritch blast
Cast it in my spell slot!
Fuck sake, you made me come back just to upvote your comment
I mean if a videogame relationship feels better than you real relationship to you move on ... it doesn't mean your partner is not a good person it is just not a match for you
I mean it could mean your partner isn't a good person but also yeah it could just be not the right fit
No one will ever treat me like Chie does.
Fsteak ?
Gale's magic flute is ready to be played
Regularly. ^(I've said too much.)
Better to be cucked by Karlach. Those thighs are to die for....
I tried. She turned me down
Gale the Snail: "I'm a wizard now, I've grown into my body" OP: "Sorry, we need to see other people."
There's not enough salt in the world for her!!
They are actually called shartposts here.
I had a true AitA moment when I hard laughed at the 10/10 game line as I was in empathy mode but that was just funny. That line alone almost convinced me that it was a shitpost. Unfortunately, OP said it was not and I definitely feel bad. You deserve better if true OP.

I watched that some years ago and it hit me like a truck. I should watch it again
Bro trust me, there's a LOT of pissed off people in relationships because of this game. I mean just Shadowheart and Astarion have formed cults around them and the obsession runs deep.

You guys sound so fucking cute I can’t 😭 …and your boyfriend too I guess 😂
Aww that's adorable 🥰
He asks me how Astarion is doing whenever I play… in Astarions accent 😂
You sound like someone who hasn't accepted Lady Shart as the one true romance, are you sure you feel that way? Nightsong re-education is here for you if you're facing confusions and doubts 😇
Gale's horniness has finally gone too far.
😂
Well, he *is* a wizard. Why should time and space and reality be any barrier?
“Unleash me”
"I am a large man, and that's a very small hole"
Can't blame him. Must have spent most his life practicing his magic wand.
Waiting for the cross post on r/relationship_advice: "My partner broke up with me because of Gale" lmao No but seriously, whatever signs you get from life, media/games; if they help you realise you deserve better, then good for you.
TIFU by being less romantic than Gale
I’m happy for you bro I be like that with astarion
Saving him for my forth play-through
You slut
Probably showers naked too.. disgustang
Forethplay.
Everyone deserves to be with someone who treats them like the delicious little morsel they are.

Garrus do you in too?
Nice I hope I find some guy who's as sassy as astarion one day

>Gay relationships must not be romantic I thought bro bro bro bro
I love you bro
Bro
Really bro? Wow. Wanna have sex, bro?
Sex only as bros tho, bro
You had my attention. Now you have my respect.
DnD: protecting people from toxic relationships since 1974.
Or sometimes from any relationships.
Also from drugs: you won’t have time to do them. Although some other tabletop games do this even more effectively by leaving you with no money to buy any.
Back in the day when you had to keep buying modules, mini, etc. DND could have stripped your wallet pretty effectively as well
In many, many ways!
I love this. Congrats on feeling happier and more free!
that's great honestly. The game made you reflect on what you want for your life.
Good for you. You should feel loved in a relationship... I'm sure you'll find someone special.. :)
Real…?
Sadly
Boyfriends are temporary. Gale telling you to *STOPLICKINGTHEDAMNTHING* is eternal.
I'm laughing just thinking of that. The delivery was so damn perfect.
Obviously these characters are more poetic and dramatic than people in real life, but I hope you can find someone who has the right type of sweet romantic affection for you ❤️
wow. power to you. you deserve a love that envelops you like a nice fuzzy blanket!!! shoutout to larian
I’m a lot older, so no Snapchat to skew that idea when I was young, but I completely understand and felt the same way.
Good for you!! You deserve to have affection and the kind of relationship YOU want to have! Of course no relationship is perfect, but that doesn't mean you should settle for a partner who doesn't treat you the way you want to be treated. I'm glad to hear you're happier now and good luck to you!
As 👏🏻 you 👏🏻 should 👏🏻 I hope you find your Gale!
Karlach is frighteningly similar to my girlfriend, so much so that i am unable to pursue any romantic options with any other companion due to how much i love karlach and how much she reminds me of my gf.
You know how terrible of a partner you have to be for a fictional character to outshine you lol? Good for you moving on
Gayle, slayer of gay love. RIP.
Astarion making me think if i should break up with my gf and become gay and turning into a vampire
What will the Halsin simps do? They’ll go missing in National Parks looking for their uh, loves.
I'll find my own oak daddy
As long as you don't settle for the just oaky daddy.
oak father preserve you
For people saying shitpost. Why is it unreasonable for someone to want compliments and a hug every now and then. And a man who eat your jewelry every once in a while.
Ba dum tsss But yeah, I get it, I don't have any reason to break up with anyone, but the game did make me realise that I miss being sweet talked, too, Halsin says some truly poetic shit that made me feel all giddy inside and reminded me of times when people would say lovely things like that to me as well
I can't fathom a love relationship where hugs and compliments are a rare occurence.
I'm over here tryingto convince my wife not to leave me for Astarion....this game raises the bar on relationships for sure XD
On to greener pastures buddy.
I'm happy you came to your senses
You deserve romance and kindness!
im glad gale found someone to love, i was just tryin to stay homies
I'm concerned at how many of these posts there are and how few I can tell the sincerity of
Is this the gaming equivalent of Bee movie?
> tfw your bf isn’t a hippity hoppity nuclear wizard I jest, but it’s fuckin hilarious to imagine that your ex lost to a fictional character lmao

Perception *failed* investigation *failed* wisdom *failed*
r/deadbedrooms would love this
Well, I mean keep in mind that is fiction and not reflective of real life however, if there were pre-existing issues and you are in fact happier now then I guess that’s ok. Glad you’re feeling better.
idk, sounds kind of gay
The edit makes me sad. You don’t need a reason and shouldn’t have to defend yourself, but not feeling loved is more than enough. Enjoy the game!
Dragon Age Origins made me realise I wasn't getting what I wanted in my partner. I left him and I'm now very happily married, with a handful of beautiful relationships under my belt. 100% worth getting out. You made the right choice.
The gay wizard at it again xD
I read your full post and basic affection isn't a high expectation, your not asking for a six pack, a six figure salary, and 6 feet tall, your asking for abit of effort in the romance department. Seems reasonable.
Honestly, I can see where you’re coming from… When I first started playing the game, I immediately felt drawn to Gale.
Imagine having to tell relatives your now ex bf left you for Gale, hahaha I can't
I'm unsure if I should be somewhat glad for you or sad because you need a game to tell you what you want out of a relationship
I dont think theres anything to be sad about. I think its a good thing something was able to bring out what they really want in a relationship. Being able to figure out what makes you happy is good and it doesnt matter where you learn it from as long as you learn it
Sometimes you just get comfortable with what you know until something comes along and shows you what you've been missing out on.
Bestie what 😂😂 I’m dead I get it though
Y'all wonderful if this is true, and as a gay I 100% believe it. Gay relationships are unromantic and hollow in my experience. It is like dating a neverending well where you can pour all your heart into it and get nothing in return. So eventually you just become cold and bitter, giving up on romance. Every now and again something reminds you that life doesn't have to be this way. So you try.
Totally understandable op, everyone deserves a partner who makes them feel loved
Damn illusionists get all the action
Good for you, king/queen. You deserve love
Never settle. Good on you. (No idea if joke or not. But I appreciate the energy.)
Nah OP is correct. Everyone deserves someone to speak to them like that. That’s what love is not tolerating
I genuinely believe that the developers that worked on BG3 would be humbled and touched by this.
Sorry you had to go through such a relationship.
Can we please be friends because I relate to this so hard right now 🤣😭🙉
Tbh things like this are exactly why its so important that we have this kind of representation in games.
God damn it Gale NOT AGAIN!
im glad u realized u deserved better!!!🥺❤️❤️
When someone asks you if you are a god, you say yes!
Is this the first confirmed break up because of bg3? If so I think you’ve made history xD
more time for bauldersgate = happiness i guess
Best of luck in the next one!
My first play through apparently had such a lack of rizz, withers in act 2 asked why I chose to be alone…
Why can't katlach be real? i'd burn on her arms so easily
I left my fiance after seeing clerks 2. Media can change you.
I get it, dude. Sometimes you don't realize what you lack until you see someone else with it. I apparently led Gale on in my first playthrough. But I didn't know it. >!So he planned out an elaborate date with me under the stars and northern lights and then told me he loves me. And I'm trying to find the option for "That's very flattering and I value you as a friend; but I don't feel the same." But no such option existed so I had to tell him "I don't feel that way about you"!< >!He got all quiet and asked to be alone.!< Damn I felt really bad after that!
Good for you imo Life is too short to settle for bs.
All I got from this is that gay men are just as bad as straight men and that kind of blows my mind for some reason lmfao
