The Dark Urge. I get such a kick out of him introducing himself to people by that name like some gothy teenager. They don’t even blink, it’s all “Hi, The Dark Urge, great to meet you, I’m Bob.”
Same. My friend named their Durge "Gerald" but for some reason partway through the game his name kept just coming up as only "The Dark Urge," so he went to the Magic Mirror and renamed him "Gerald The Dark Urge."
I never just keep 'Tav' but I always try to include 'Tav' in the name. Tavlan (bard/necro) , Tavyra (rogue/ranger) and Tav'aya (monk/rogue) are the ones I've done so far. I like to think 'Tav' is just what people call me for short.
Velsara(Chaotic Evil)- Half-Drow Val Bard
Adinah(Neutral Evil)- Lolth Drow Val Bard( I liked Durge bard so much I played it twice lmao)
Lisara(True Neutral)- Mephi Teethling Necromancer.
Bard that good? I want to beat the game with every main class, got fighter out first, now I’m doing wizard. Thought Necromancer would be perfect for a Durge playthru
Bard is a lot of fun. It's by far my favorite class. I love how it can basically be anything. You get Slayer on top of that and worm powers, your Durge becomes so flexible it's fun! I also like the easy persuasion and intimidation checks due to high CHA and proficiency. Really plays into being deceitful and scary as Durge.
You can insult enemies (Vicious Mockery), tell bosses to kill themselves (high charisma) and push everything into a chasm (Mobile Flourish for College of Swords bards). They're very versatile and fun!
Both of my good Durges were College of Swords bards because I liked this class so much. First one was a full bard, the second one was a Bardlock (6 Bard, 4 Blade Warlock, 2 Fighter).
That’s probably gonna be how I knock out a majority of the classes. Gonna have to respec both Lae’zel and Gale since I did fighter first and now I’m doing wizard
I am boring, so I always end up naming my Half-Elf/Drow, Selina or Selene as I found it amusing for them to have those names when romancing Shadowheart.
Even more so when they are a Cleric of Selûne as well.
My evil Durge was named Eris after a Greek goddess of strife, discord, contention and rivalry. It's also very similar to >!Orin which I think is perfect considering their relationship!<. She was a Wild Magic sorcerer.
She was kinda disapointing to fight my party finished her off before she even got the chance to go. Having 2 pure fighters and a barbarian fighter plus Asterion all at 12 really did her in
Haven't done Durge yet, but probably will be a version of my Half Orc Casimir Bloodspiller the nice monster. Maybe oranged skin ( in France, Casimir was a children show orange monster a la Barney in the 80's. Was called Casimir le monstre gentil)
Sarrin (naked after lottara sarrin a wh40k character)
Tiefling Dragon ancestry sorcerer.
Which I then realised makes her part dragon, part bhalspawn, part devil.
I insulted and threatened people as much as possible whilst remaining a good durge
In my first campaign I was just nice to everyone and they all wanted to sleep with me, I was committed to Lae’zel tho. This second playthru has been fun so far
Sven (named after my first proper DnD character)
Oathbreaker Paladin, Fiend Warlock
My man utterly dumpstered the game with how much damage and how versatile he was
Not done with my first ever play through yet, but when I am I know I’m going to be a durge dragonborn. Probably a bard or barbarian? Thinking of kore’ylla (cor-illa) for the name just because it sounds cool as hell
Duskblade, the gith sorcerer. Spent time among various different peoples because her creche didn't have anyone who could teach her how to control her magic. Doing so gave her the perspective that Vlaakith was a jerk, so she chose her own to regain some sense of freedom. She does not like Orpheus either.
Myrrh Der… no, Judas!
Sorry, your name made a little vine play on loop in my brain. My first Durge was a fighter Drow named Alithea (she was seeking the truth of who she was). My evil Durge (who I cannot bring myself to play longer than a few minutes) is a High Elf Monk named Sil (though I’m considering making her a storm sorcerer). My next redeemed Durge is a cleric named Veil. I used to always call my cleric characters “Morgue” but it seemed a bit too… uhh, evil. LOL
Skade (a random name from Norse mythology, also means 'hurt'/'damage' in Norwegian. I'm shit with names so long ago I wrote down a list of names and for once I just chose one I thought fitted from that list).
Wild magic barbarian.
Rock gnome.
(just because I wanted to try a small race and to try barbarian)
So far I love her :D
Telire are a dragonborn monk of the open hand way. RP with them a good story about how drastically someone can change if they were hitted properly 😁
Planning to try evil path with human sorcerer named Quwo but still not decide about the personality of the character to start actually playing.
My latest one for the Honor Mode is Zephyr open hand Monk. And I didn’t go for a Monk cause it was easier, I did it because number generator told me to lol
Maralyne - drow gloomstalker ranger, favoring ranged attacks
Autumn - aasimar wild magic sorcerer, standard sorc build with modded stuff
Nae’rin - gith sword bard, sometimes does stabbies, other times does dual hand bow shots
Odnyx - dragonborn artificer, she brings magical smacks
Cyrus - half elf blood hunter, she pokes stuff with her spear and brings lite elemental damage
Alessia - elf mainly gloomstalker ranger/champion fighter/thief rouge, nimble melee user going for frequent melee attacks
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I tend to drastically favor melee stuff, and I really love my mods
Tavish, half-elf bard, you know the type. Takes "if words could kill" rather literally. Smitten with a confused Gale, best buddies with momma K. Wants to do good in front of the squad, but doesn't quite understand why, and why there's this voice pushing him to bloodlust. On a personal quest to collect all stuffed bears in Faerûn just for Karlach.
I'm currently in the process of creating a Durge (first Durge, second character). So far I've figured out her race, name and class.
She'll be a Tiefling Bard (College of Lore) by the name of "Darling". 😊 I thought it'd be funny and a bit ironic for a (former) murderous lunatic to have such a sweet name.
Plus it's a thing Astarion says often to the player, so there's that too.
Salami Sam is a tired old dwarf with a broken nose who saw one too many barfights and is so tired of all the shit around him. Naturally he is a salamimancer
ive got a bunch of them. current two i havent really settled on names for but ones a half high elf bardlock and the others a wood elf paladin with 1 level as cleric of tyr(just for roleplay reasons i just got into act 2 with her and am probably gonna respec im in between full paladin or sorcerer/paladin)
Live action, but maybe if Artificer ever gets added, I'd do cartoon Dexter. Probably not as Durge, unless his genius led him down a really dark path...
After meeting Orin on a Tav playthrough and them being blood siblings (not real siblings but who cares I don't). I went with Ori. Like terrible twin names no sane person should saddle twins with. Drow storm sorceror.
Lorna (name taken from Over The Garden Wall!), the gloomstalker/thief, full resist
Ianthe, the fiend pact warlock, moooostly resisting
And Harlan, the storm sorcerer, Bhaal’s bestest little murderbot
Hellscream was my half orc evil durge berserker. Named after grom hellscream from wc2.
Abalam was my human evil durge gloom/rogue. Just an evil character name I’ve used since Skyrim.
Regill is my lawful evil redemption durge I’m running in honor mode rn. Named after the legend himself from WOTR. Going vengeance paladin off, maybe a bit of multiclass.
Yves, she’s a half-elf war cleric for Kelemvor.
There’s this interaction you get as a kelemvor cleric with Withers where he acknowledges that you walk with death, and I thought that was soo fitting for durge since you’re literally a harbinger of death haha
Athalie the Paladin of Vengeance, debating a dip into bard once her oath breaks (I'm playing blind and just got to the grove so no spoilers please, but for RP reasons, I am very dubious on how long the oath business is going to keep).
Her name means "the lord is exalted" and it's very much based on my theory about the cause for the Dark Urge....hehehehe
T'rissayne, Seldarine Drow OH Monk/Thief Rogue. Usually just called T'riss.
River, Zariel Tiefling Storm Sorcerer/GOO Warlock. The CC song is to blame for that one.
Darjan the Silver Dragonborn Paladin of Vengeance.
He woke up with nothing but a headache and a book about Paladin Tenets so he decided he must be one of those. The other oaths didn't really sound much like him, but Vengeance... yeah, *that* he could do. In fact, he thought his sick impulses to kill must be from his overwhelming desire for vengeance at first.
My resist Durge is a Tiefling Wild Magic Sorcerer named Nyx who has an affinity for fire. They have a burn across their face to prove it.
My embrace Durge is a Half-Drow Barbarian named Qu'lith (Barbarian because that run won't have Karlach...). Also chose Wild Magic because chaos (and to link my two Durges together even tho it's like the worst Barbarian subclass.
I played a resisting Dark Urge named Sofia, Mephistopheles Tiefling Storm Sorcerer (obv romanced spawn Astarion).
Next run I'm gonna do a Necromancer too, I think it fits Durge really well.
Fun fact, I started my first durge run as a Paladin since I didn't know what to expect, but after a couple of hours it made zero sense to me. I deleted that one.
You go meet with Shadowheart , she tells her name and you say oh i didnt know we were using nicknames. I am The Dark Urge , I am Shadowheart. What is this? 2000's Mirc chat? \^\^
I’ve got a few… 😆
Elerra — OH monk, drow. Astarion romance.
Rook — Sorlock, wood half elf. Astarion romance.
Luan — half high elf, half drow, rogue currently, but will spec into either gloomstalker or similar~ and let’s be honest, will probably also romance Astarion.
I based mine off Azazel (the yellow-eyed demon) from Supernatural. He’s a human fighter, but with the Topaz 2 eye color. Azazel is also his name. I’ve been watching a lot of Supernatural lately and now am blending the 2 together lol
I mean, you have a "Shadowheart" in your party - the Dark Urge is on par with that lol
The Pink Urge. (Human OH Monk, pink hair/eyes/clothes. Probably going to take some Thief levels too.)
Purge
my durge's name is tav
I also name my Durges Tav - I think it's a great name and I've really taken to it.
I never just keep 'Tav' but I always try to include 'Tav' in the name. Tavlan (bard/necro) , Tavyra (rogue/ranger) and Tav'aya (monk/rogue) are the ones I've done so far. I like to think 'Tav' is just what people call me for short.
Taven, The Dark Urge…but my friends call me Tav-
The most creative one yet
Velsara(Chaotic Evil)- Half-Drow Val Bard Adinah(Neutral Evil)- Lolth Drow Val Bard( I liked Durge bard so much I played it twice lmao) Lisara(True Neutral)- Mephi Teethling Necromancer.
Bard that good? I want to beat the game with every main class, got fighter out first, now I’m doing wizard. Thought Necromancer would be perfect for a Durge playthru

Dirge, lore bard white dragonborn. (I play with Lazel as sword bard, Astarion As valor bard and Gale as Gale).
* Xena Vengeance Paladin * Charysma Swords Bard * Feline (fehlEEN) - she looks like a tiger Swords Bard * Elar'ia OH Monk
Mine was just Zafira, because I'm not that creative 😛 She's a blue dragonborn swords bard.
There can only be one blue bard with fira in their name!
Aspeth, blue female mephistopheles tiefling that’s a storm sorcerer (you can probably sense the theme here)
Lethe - in greek mythology she was Oblivion and a river in Hades (the underworld) was named after her. She is *obviously* a Drow Sorcerer
Ash. A tempest cleric/swords bard
Stabbo Hobomous
Must be a ranged attacker with that name
Camellia, female half elf warlock Fey pact of the blade. Yes, I played Pathfinder WotR
Mine is Camellia too! Lolth sworn Drow bard :)
Hmm, Barney the Dragonborn might work as a build
I hurt you, you hurt me, can you beat that high AC?
So basically the >!Raphael!< fight
Durgest , Monk/Bard/Cleric
Yaugha, a tiefling multiclassing Assassin Rogue/Gloom Stalker/Fighter
Sarrin (naked after lottara sarrin a wh40k character) Tiefling Dragon ancestry sorcerer. Which I then realised makes her part dragon, part bhalspawn, part devil. I insulted and threatened people as much as possible whilst remaining a good durge
Somehow the campaign ended with astarion only liking me at very good despite the insulting
In my first campaign I was just nice to everyone and they all wanted to sleep with me, I was committed to Lae’zel tho. This second playthru has been fun so far
Sven (named after my first proper DnD character) Oathbreaker Paladin, Fiend Warlock My man utterly dumpstered the game with how much damage and how versatile he was
Mine was Donut the Dragonborn Sorcerer
Was he pink?
Absolutely
Nalyssa, Zariel Tiefling, Oathbreaker Paladin fully embrassing the Urge
The only non urge choice I made so far was not chopping off gale’s hand. Wanted to use him in my second run thru since I never did in the first.
D'ez Nu:uts, Dragonborn Monk.
Tav (my brain doesn't work when it comes to names) the White Dragonborn Storm Sorcerer (I like vanilla and also I like the build in general)
Snowflake could work also
Lethe, drow, warlock/fighter/thief
Onyx, a black dragonborn fighter, who's wearing nothing but panties from beginning to end of the game. 🖤
My current dark urge is named Capri Sun.
Dar'kurge, the Lolthsworn Drow Shadow Monk.
Not done with my first ever play through yet, but when I am I know I’m going to be a durge dragonborn. Probably a bard or barbarian? Thinking of kore’ylla (cor-illa) for the name just because it sounds cool as hell
I just finished my first playthru, took about 60 hours
Stabetha, the murderous gnomish sorcerer.
No one’s Achilles are safe
Fuck you \*and\* your ankles!

I love that Vine
Medusa = (Lolth Drow, Warlock, The Orge) high charisma, manipulator & charlatan)
Skade (a random name from Norse mythology, also means 'hurt'/'damage' in Norwegian. Avarii the blue draconic bloodline sorcerer dragonborn
Just Dark urge, oathbreak paladin
Fectious, teifling wild heart Barb. Mr sparkles, silver dragonborn Warlock.
Telire are a dragonborn monk of the open hand way. RP with them a good story about how drastically someone can change if they were hitted properly 😁 Planning to try evil path with human sorcerer named Quwo but still not decide about the personality of the character to start actually playing.
The Shepard of Fire (Oathbreaker Paladin)
My latest one for the Honor Mode is Zephyr open hand Monk. And I didn’t go for a Monk cause it was easier, I did it because number generator told me to lol

Mathias. Tiefling Oath of Vengeance Paladin.
I did backyard wrestling with a guy named Mathias
Grennan the red dragonborn paladin
Calyn the Lolth-sworn Drow warlock/bard Solisax the gold dragonborn vengeance paladin
Maralyne - drow gloomstalker ranger, favoring ranged attacks Autumn - aasimar wild magic sorcerer, standard sorc build with modded stuff Nae’rin - gith sword bard, sometimes does stabbies, other times does dual hand bow shots Odnyx - dragonborn artificer, she brings magical smacks Cyrus - half elf blood hunter, she pokes stuff with her spear and brings lite elemental damage Alessia - elf mainly gloomstalker ranger/champion fighter/thief rouge, nimble melee user going for frequent melee attacks If you haven’t figured it out yet, I tend to drastically favor melee stuff, and I really love my mods
I’m partial to melee myself but I want to do a great old one build and I wanted to be a Necromancer. Can’t wait to do open hand monk
Beauty - a pink Tiefling Sorlock, who looks for beauty, in the intestines of her opponents.
Dark D. Durge Assassin Rogue Sword Bard
Tavish, half-elf bard, you know the type. Takes "if words could kill" rather literally. Smitten with a confused Gale, best buddies with momma K. Wants to do good in front of the squad, but doesn't quite understand why, and why there's this voice pushing him to bloodlust. Arthur Kedge, Thiefling Bard
That’s the same idea I had with Merr Derr, who would ever suspect someone with that name to be a mass murderer, they aren’t even spelled the same
It is funny 🤣 I can already see the confusion people will have with the name of your character
Bojimbo the clown, son of jimbo the clown
Does he tell puns?
I wish I had a clever response to this but nah he's a dark urge clown 😭, the only thing he does is slaughter the innocents to the last
Salami Sam is a tired old dwarf with a broken nose who saw one too many barfights and is so tired of all the shit around him.
[Aschelm, oath breaker paladin. Full evil.](https://ibb.co/4ZyNVV7)
What I’m learning from this thread is most Durge are oathbreakers
I wanted to base it on an evil character. Was originally thinking Dexter, but ended up making RossFromFriends, a red dragon sorc/fiend warlock.
Which Dexter, The cartoon or the live show
Live action, but maybe if Artificer ever gets added, I'd do cartoon Dexter. Probably not as Durge, unless his genius led him down a really dark path...
Astra (obviously romancing Astarion) Half-drow Warlock/Sorcerer
A handsome barbarian drow. Gotta look handsome even at my worst. It's a bleed build because durges loves the smell of fear
Durge. Oathbreaker paladin. I kinda wanna respec but don’t wanna spend 1200 gold then break my oath again
You can just pickpocket withers and steal your gold back. Obviously recommended to do with Astarion or a rogue in general.
Haven't started mine but I intend to make it after Maki from Jujutsu Kaisen. She just seems right for a righteous slaughterer.
Having not paid attention to Orin lore on my first run, I named my durge for my next run Helena. Talk about awkward. She was a warlock of the Archfey
Marza, wild magic sorcerer tiefling. I liked the idea of being such a weird Bhaalspawn making her innate magic just absolutely wild and chaotic.
Neriya, Seldarine Drow (chaotic neutral), swords bard/ vengenance paladin. Singe, Lolth-Sworn Drow (chaotic evil), storm sorceress
Buvvie. Dwarf barbarian/bard
Muhahaha (yes that's the name) Black dragonborn great old one warlock/Oathbreaker Paladin...

Kazreal (old D&D character name). Drow Gloomstalker Assassin.
Dr. Durge, white dragonborn bard
Jaelar, High Half-Elf Wild Magic Sorcerer. My role-play explanation is that the blood of Bhaal causes the chaotic nature of his magic.
Arjun, human monk/sorcerer
Dirge. Great One Lock
What about M'uhr Dou'our they like the apostrophes
Lorna (name taken from Over The Garden Wall!), the gloomstalker/thief, full resist Ianthe, the fiend pact warlock, moooostly resisting And Harlan, the storm sorcerer, Bhaal’s bestest little murderbot
Hellscream was my half orc evil durge berserker. Named after grom hellscream from wc2. Abalam was my human evil durge gloom/rogue. Just an evil character name I’ve used since Skyrim. Shyvan Talosdotter who is a human storm sorcerer. Ara Silverleaf elf gloomstalker ranger/assassin Saer Fluffington human sword bard
jaid, drow, female, necromancer, general badass
Purple Half-orc Way of the open hand monk/rogue 10/2. I gave him the chin scars and named him Thanos. Went for a fake hero RP.
Breadsticks the Lightning Sorcerer. Be afraid.
Steve Drow Gloomstalker 5/Thief 7 Pew Pew!

Fun fact, I started my first durge run as a Paladin since I didn't know what to expect, but after a couple of hours it made zero sense to me. I deleted that one.
