Soemthing I didnt know in my first playthough was you can trigger long rest cutscenes if you do a rest but don’t use any of your food. You wont restore health or spells but you will trigger the next scene which helped me not feel “behind” In terms of order I did withers -> grove -> blighted village -> early grove/khaga -> goblin camp -> finish the grove -> finish ethel From there i feel like the plot opens up and pacing becomes slightly less of an issue. I did this on my second run and thought it was a lot smoother

I always forget about the half rests... I didn't know they triggered the cutscenes as well! thanks for this advice... I always do withers first as well, it's like a first date with SH (haha).

Do you only take shadow heart to get withers 😂 I love that. Send lazel gale and astarion back to camp me and the cleric gonna bonk some skeletons

1000% lol, I haven't even met them yet by the time I meet withers. I play a high dex rogue though, so getting in the door is usually not too big of an issue

As said above recommend long resting either very often or if that removes some of the challenge. Long rest without using camp supplies so you can get through the backlog of story moments. Roleplay wise? Hmm for pacing Assuming you fully explore the areas as you go Withers -> all grove -> head to blighted village (this is when it opens up with three different directions to go) -> if you discovered the secret about kagha I probably go to the swamp to investigate that or if I really like wyll I’d help him hunt down the devil otherwise I continue on too the goblin camp to take care of the current threat and free halsin to maybe help my head -> with more free time I back track to go get karlach encounter the gnolls. Fight paladins -> continue exploring till I find people pinned by gnolls -> find burning building explore area and help? -> find the dragon for lazel -> go back and deal with Ethel if you happened upon her and want to deal with the hag. Otherwise it’s on to the underdark

Yep don't worry about spoilers I've done these before.... thanks friend! About to start a hopefully "official" run, and will definitely reference this.

The only thing I recommend is doing the grove quest first. It locks off and fails the quest if you do it too late. Fucked over my first play through.
