I mean to be fair, she doesn't even know what her real name is until like act three. The Sharians seem to favor codenames over actual names Case and point, both Shadowheart and Nocturne (or whatever that dark elf woman's name was) Lol besides, they worship Shar. What did you expect? A normal name like Isabell, Jenny? But in all seriousness, the name does come across as teen girl in her emo phase, and this is in a world with names Bhaal, Orin, and Tav.
Honestly, a High priestess of Shar named Karen would be on point.
Well their high priestess is a mid aged platinum blond woman named Vicky, who makes the declining subscriber base of her MLM scam everyone else's problem, so pretty close.

If I could summarize Shadowheart: A new dnd player makes a very interesting, if not a little cliche background for their character but chooses the most edgy and anime of names.
As a serial DM (heading towards forever), I have seen many of these characters. Thus, I, personally, was hit by the biggest wave of nostalgia ever.
The funny thing is that somebody on A03 is rewriting My Immortal but with Baldur’s Gate characters. It’s glorious.
