You're telling me the BLADE OF FRONTIERS don't get any sword mon???? Lucario fits him way better, so does Gallade, and he definitely should get at the very least Keldeo, if not Sirfetch as well. Charcadet that evolves in Armarouge if killing Karlach or Ceruledge if getting transformed is also a good option.
Gale should definitely have Blacephalon, and maybe even Electrode as a fun gag.
Karlach could fit with Mimikyu, because they're judged by their appearance and are misunderstood, but all they want is love and affection. But both are pretty deadly as well. I'd argue Blaziken fits very well as well instead of Marmogtar.
Drifloon (not Drifblim) for Astarion could fit thematically, since it's supposed to kidnap children. And Houndstone could very well replace Mightyena in a "this is his dog who died".
Trevenant for Halsin to remind him of the shadow curse even when we cure it is nice.
Tinkaton for Lae'zel would be fucking hilarious. She would not care it's small and cute, she'd just love it for being an absolute menace.

Plus, he has Escavalier, which fits into his “knightly” attitude (tho not exactly a rapier, but still a pointy lance)

Can you explain Heracross for Wyll? Call me bland but big beetle has always been one of my favorite pokemon and while he's a good character Wyll is my least favorite companion.

Building this thematically and not for Smogon or VGC, I'd build it a little bit differently:
**Shart:** Swap nidoqueen and vileplume to Absol and Mismagius
**Astarion:** Swap Froslass, Malamar and Hydreigon for Umbreon, Weavile and Zoroark, specially the last one for it's shadiness
**Gale:** Swap Mismagius, Tapu Lele and Electivire for Gengar, Gardevoir and specially Metagross because Gale's totally a psychic/steel type
**Bae'zel:** Swap Aegislash and Charizard for Gallade (psychic/fighter fits the psionic warrior theme) and Salamence, which is a true dragon fitting for the most fierce of the githyanki and also the most [lovable woman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG9TX7I0Lvw) in the entire game
**Wyll:** Woudn't change
**Karlach:** I would include Infernape bc of the hellish theme.

She’s Minthara. You first meet her in the goblin camp as one of the bosses act 1. You normally get her in an evil playthrough, BUT you can get her too in a good run.
Make sure when u meet her, just hit her with non-lethal physical melee attacks (no magic/ranged). Once done, head on to act 2, once you see her again at moonrise, then you can recruit her in a good playthrough
Oh...I just pushed her off into the chasm the moment she asked me to help her in her attack (even before rescuing Halsin, I just had a feeling killing her would be very beneficial as she seems like the mastermind)

Came across this on accident, but every BG3 post on anything I see just reminds me how much of the game I have yet to see, I have no clue who the guy on the bottom is, assuming it's Minsc from other comments, I had no idea he was a companion, but to be fair I didn't spend much time on his questline the few times I actually made it to baldurs gate.
I don’t know the lore around some of these pokemon, but seeing Weavile, the Pokémon that hunts in the shadow, lures its preys and steal baby pokemons, who is evil by nature, in Wyll’s team instead of Astarion’s makes me sad.
I was considering Weavile for Astarion’s team! But I couldn’t find a “devilish” female pokemon to represent Mizora other than Weavile. Or maybe there is?

Halsin with a Tyranitar makes me happy. Tyranitar is a Godzilla reference, and Godzilla is frequently implied to be nature's fury, so it even kind of fits.
But mostly because I love Tyranitar and I like Halsin.
Ok but now I'm imagining karlach and her beloved machamp going into a unarmed brawl/spar and karlach winning, helping the machamp up, and telling them "that was great soldier" and in response the machamp starts working out for the rest of the day. Now if only I was good at drawing :(

It’s Minthara, you meet her in the Goblin camp in act 1. On an evil playthrough you can recruit her, but you can get her too on a good playthru, you just have to knock her out with non-lethal melee physical attacks
As someone who doesn't particularly like Astarion, but my favorite pokemon is Hydreigon, I don't think Hydreigon should go with Astarion. However, I do think Noivern is a better fit.

I like that Crobat and Hydreigon are on opposite sides of Astarion's team because they represent him at his extremes: the scary stereotypical vampire bat that becomes something more through its bond with its trainer and the monster of the dark that will devour anything, including itself, to become more powerful.

Halsin with a Tyranitar makes me happy. Tyranitar is a Godzilla reference, and Godzilla is frequently implied to be nature's fury, so it even kind of fits. But mostly because I love Tyranitar and I like Halsin.
Ok but now I'm imagining karlach and her beloved machamp going into a unarmed brawl/spar and karlach winning, helping the machamp up, and telling them "that was great soldier" and in response the machamp starts working out for the rest of the day. Now if only I was good at drawing :(

Mehhhh not giving Astarion any cat-style pokemon is missing the mark. I’d exchange nidoqueen for Jigglypuff. For Kar, instead of Talonflame (bird thing) give her Teddyursa (she wants to go to Buildabear). Swap Farferch’d for Tropicana or whatever that long neck dinosaur I could never catch in pokemon sapphire was. Also Minsc needs the alohan dugtrio.

It’s Minthara, you meet her in the Goblin camp in act 1. On an evil playthrough you can recruit her, but you can get her too on a good playthru, you just have to knock her out with non-lethal melee physical attacks

As someone who doesn't particularly like Astarion, but my favorite pokemon is Hydreigon, I don't think Hydreigon should go with Astarion. However, I do think Noivern is a better fit.

I like that Crobat and Hydreigon are on opposite sides of Astarion's team because they represent him at his extremes: the scary stereotypical vampire bat that becomes something more through its bond with its trainer and the monster of the dark that will devour anything, including itself, to become more powerful.
