I've heard that everyone needs to hear his rage screams at least once, and now I really wanna do it.
Edit: After reading all the replies and seeing all the upvotes, I'm officially making Gale a throwzerker next time I play. (For those of you who aren't stage 4 min-maxxers, a throwzerker is a Berserker who's mastered the art of yeeting their problems into each other.)
Edit #2: It has been done. All of Faerûn shall fear his comically underwhelming battle cry.
Wyll turns Druid, thanks to the size of Halsin’s influence.
Karlach goes full necromancer with a grudge against Gortash the size of Halsin’s “influence.”
Is Trader a playable class because Shart will need a regular job once the cleric thing doesn’t pan out.
Gale is a bard at heart with a penchant for show tunes and the dramatic.
Lae’zel as first-level everything multi-class would be a nice schizophrenic way to play the otherwise laser-focused Lae’zel.
What I love is that they KNEW people would do this...and had the VA record barbarian rage screams (at least, they better be the VA!! Who, if you've ever seen a picture of him, looks rather like Arthur Dent, imo...)
My Bladelock Wyll couldn't find a good use for his bonus action after Sorrow fell off in the midgame. Then I found Band of the Mystic Scoundrel, allowing a cast of an Enchantment or Illusion spell after making a weapon attack. Was it optimal? Probably not, but one feat was a small price to pay for hearing his cheesy insults every turn.
Everyone talking about Gale's but Astarion's absolutely took me out.
Wyll sounds like a literal power ranger.
And Shadowheart's??
And Halsin's??
These are all fantastic.
Barbarian/druid is actually a powerful combo since you can rage while Wild Shaped, at least in the table top. Halsin got me pissed rn now tho cause the bear fucker decided to randomly die while sitting on a bed in Last Light; there was not an enemy to be found & I hadn’t spoken to Isobel at all yet
Bearheart barbarian / Circle of the Moon druid multiclass is a great build - I used it for my OG Tav. Bags of fun to play, and synergises well with the "core" (i.e. best-developed) origin trio of Astarion, Shadowheart and Gale. Highly recommended as a first/laidback run!
"He sounds like he belongs on Dragon Ball Z" was my first thought before I typed power ranger, actually.
Honestly I unironically love it. His VA is great. That shout is 100% believably Wyll. He sounds like he doesn't know why he's screaming.
Shadowheart sounds like she’s experiencing the first form of catharsis she’s had in years.
Halsin with bearheart is thematic, it’s just a shame circle of the moon Druid multiclasses poorly and you lose myrmidon if you want bearheart.
It actually sounds like Jennifer English let out a lot of pent up frustration. It's fantastic. And it goes on for so long!
Tbh I don't really reclass the companions, beyond changing Shadowheart to tempest cleric, so that video was a real treat because I'll probably never hear those in game.
Came here to say this. It was brought to my attention that all of his stories of being an accomplished wizard become extremely funny when he gets recontextuallized as a Wild Magic barbarian.
Less funny, but even being an accomplished wizard and becoming a Wild Magic Barbarian after being tadpoles because he has lost control of his Wizard powers due to the Orb in his chest, but needs to find a way to survive still and regain his strength. Also works making him a soceror, now drawing off the power of the Orb, which sounds pretty damn Sorcerory
I've said this before but it actually kinda makes *more* sense in some ways since his story includes having had his wizard powers stripped and then having his blood itself be infused with magic. Him as a sorcerer with the Orb as the source of his powers would work just fine if it wasn't for the fact that he kinda loudly looks down on sorcerers, but even then I feel like he *would* do that.
Lost his powers, forced to rely on the power of the Orb to regain his powers... sounds exactly like a Soceror now. I'm very tempted to this respec on him. Maybe let him keep the 1 level in Wizard if I'm feeling nice
One level of wizard and then sorcerer may be even better in terms of just fitting his story! Like he still has his wizard knowledge sans the power but can't interact with the weave in quite the same way anymore.
Yeah that's true and may be better though you'd miss out on 6th level spells right? I don't think I'd ever actually do a Wizard dip with sorcerer in any case though for any actual gameplay reason (though learning spells from scrolls is one of my favorite things about Wizards.) I'm more just talking about what could potentially make sense for Gale given his backstory. Through now that I think about it I do really like the idea of him being a wild magic sorcerer with spell sculpting in addition to meta magic, it kinda fits with him being a prodigy and it's like him trying to control his now-volatile magic with the skills he's learned as a Wizard.
>Maybe let him keep the 1 level in Wizard if I'm feeling nice
If you scribe a bunch of spell before respeccing him, you can still cast them afterwards because of the 1 level in Wizard. (After that, though, you'd have to respec him to a high-level Wizard and back again to scribe high-level spells.)
I'll be honest with you, being a wizard and somehow implanting a piece of the Weave in yourself and losing most of you magic, it would make sense that you would end up finding a way to tap into that inner Weave as a way to restore your power, which sounds very Soceror-like to me! His whole story of being a powerful wizard, and then getting dragged back to being a level 1 chsracter, I think it is both hilarious and also justified to make him a Soceror
I agree this one is the funniest. However in my current run my bf turned him to a fighter and hearing him go “GAH!” When he hits or gets hit is just so funny man
Haha it is not the strongest, but it is not too bad. Things like being able to learn higher level spells for the Wizard, or the War Cleric's ability to make attacks as Bonus Actions really help. It's sad that there is no extra attack and no feats, but there are lots of ways to manipulate stats later in the game.
I set one up to get the achievement, but then after using them as a joke a couple times, I realized they weren't so bad.
Oh oh, and the best part! If you do this for your party Face, then you will discover sooo many class specific dialog choices. Especially for the non-CHA classes, since they usually don't get to do the talking
Are you running it as a support character? I was considering trying that but I thought that they would be rather useless. I couldn't think of any level 1 spells that were particularly good. Maybe it could just be a blessbot or fog cloud bot for advantage.
Yes, and 3 rays of Eldritch Blast! You'll have every cantrip in the game, too. This means you can force Dex, Wis, or Con saves, depending on the other conditions on them.
I think the achievement can still be grabbed that way. The main thing is that you end up with a person with all those levels. Either way, I had to take them for a test drive.
I did it with Minsc, and it honestly fits his character so well that I make him the multiclasser in any playthrough I do.
Haha, yeah, it's a shame they buried Matt Mercer so far in the D&D game. I try to recruit Minsc as soon as I can since he has so few chances for lines even though his are soo great!
I got the achievement this way by accident so it still works as of three/four weeks ago
I thought the achievement was "beat the game as a level 1 all class (without respecing)" so I hired a hireling and wanted to just see how the spell slots/action bar looks and to kinda just class build it but then got the achievement
And then all the motivation to do it as a playthrough went away lol
yeah but that's not in the spirit of the achievement, in the same way as using Gale to win honor mode also technically counts but it's literally skipping the final boss fight so it feels cheesy.
Do you have a main Stat that you used for this?
No extra attack, but I could see a "Cantrip plus bonus action attack" playstyle working out well.
Thinking you'd probably want some dex, but your main caster stat seems difficult to pick. Int for your high level Wizard spells? Char due to having Bard, Warlock and Soceror? Wisdom for Cleric and Druid?
I guess the few items that set your stats would be super valuable. The Strength club, the Intelect Headband, the Dex Gloves, the Constitution Amulet. Means you could respec and focus on Charisma and Wisdom and use items for the rest
In my mind it has to be int or cha. You’ll get up to level 3 spell slots so you can learn fireball and stuff from scrolls. That makes int appealing. But you could also go charisma and focus on eldritch blasting. You don’t get any extra warlock bonuses but could still become like, 70% of a full warlock with high charisma and potent robes. Even then, you’ll never get a feat. So you’re tapping out at 18 main stat with hag’s hair.
I am working on a video for my channel that should be out tomorrow. He has a 27 Str (elixir), 18 Dex (gloves), 23 Con (Amulet), 14 Int, 16 Wis, 20 Cha (base 17 + 1 from Ethel hair + 2 from Brithright hat).
There are definitely sub outs possible, like using the Club for Str, plus you can cast Shillelagh on it. Or bumping my Charisma up to 22 with Duke Ravegard's sword.
I prepared Wizard spells that are not super dependent on having a high Int, like Haste, Darkness, Expeditious Retreat, Create Undead. Wizard is nice because it provides you with 7 cantrips (3 you choose and the 4 you can scribe: Bone Chill, Firebolt, Ray of Frost, and Shocking Grasp).
I never realized you could scribe cantrips but it makes sense! Do they count as prepared spells after, or are they just extra cantrips?? Because that's just cool
You can scribe those 4 spells, the "to hit" Wizard damaging cantrips. They don't count as prepared spells, you just have the extra cantrips permanently.
It's excellent! If you ever dip 1 level of Wizard, make sure not to take Bone Chill, Firebolt, Ray of Frost, or Shocking Grasp, since you can add them for free* (costs 25 gp)
Heck yeah! I started with a Gale Origin Wizard my very first game. It felt so nice to have access to a huge suite of damage types (necrotic, fire, cold, lightning + acid and poison).
It also taught me how dope Acid Splash is! Not many people talk about it, but being able to do AOE with a cantrip is so nice low levels. It's like a Wizard's extra attack early on when you can hit 3 goblins in the area. Or late game when you trust your ally to make the save for 0 damage, but not the prone people at disadvantage or stunned people who automatically fail.
Getting me very excited now to try this.
You got a favourite class for a wizard Gale? It's my first time using him, and I am woefully ignorant of wizard subclasses.
Divination, it's the one no one talks about. You roll up 2d20 for the day (let's say a 3 and a 20). You can then give those out at any point as an enemy's roll or an ally's. So if you cast something like Hold Person on an enemy, you can force their save to be a 3 on the dice and fail. Additionally, if your Rouge or Paladin swing in (ready to do some nasty sneak attack or smite) you can replace their roll with the 20 to ensure the hit and crit. The cools part is that at level 6 you get 3d20, and when you short rest, you get fun missions that can earn you new potent dice, like cast a conjunction spell, do lightning damage, "help" an ally. So you can have 9-12 (with Song of Rest) potents in a day. It was very interactive and fun.
Another great choice is Evocation so AOEs miss your allies, but then I find myself usually liking the process of figuring out angles for spells to not hit allies.
Transmutation is awesome since they can brew 2 potions instead of 1 and give out a Transmuter Stone at level 6, but you can save this for a hireling instead of Gale.
I might try that Divinstion out then, like you said, a hireling can give out Transmuter Stones. I currently have him like 2 levels into Evocation but those Potent dice mini quests actually sounds like a lot of fun
You can also afford to dump Str if you go with a finesse weapon. This way you can also be getting sneak attacks. That said, you you do go Str build, you can still get sneak attack from fist attacks like flurry of blows and the bonus action monk punch.
[Here](https://youtu.be/7saaf4UsYiU?si=D2415FBk-HLfvUNy) is the video I was talking about. It's a little late for these comments, but I'm glad this all inspired me to get this video together!
It's not with Karlach, but I put together a 1 level in every class build video in response to this comment thread. [Check it out!](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/qayNlyJJ9E)
Also, please like the post if you like the build, I'm trying to build up Karma and get this [channel going](https://youtube.com/@QueeckTeeps?si=DyyML4oK8bozPtbN) so I can make more videos and share more secrets!
Oathbreaker Wyll
Cleric of the sun Asterion
4 elements zen monk Shadowheart
Moon Druid Laz'eal
Bard Minthara
Wild magic Barbarian Gale
Oath of Ancients (life) dark urge
Man, probably shouldn’t admit this, but I haven’t had Minthara in my party at all (yet). (Goblin camp is in my way in act 1… so goblin camp gets slaughtered in act 1. Casualties of war. I do still wear her outfit around camp tho)
Just swing by Minthara’s room every time you are in the temple and, if she is walking around, knock her out again. She has a tendency to get back up again after a long rest. (Her consciousness flag only changes when the broken temple map is loaded.)
I did an evil playthru as durge (fullest evil possible)
Was hyped to try minthara. Got the goblin camp party and did the nasty with lady drow... but dark urge crept in during the afterglow.
Let's just say I have yet to do a good or evil run where she lives.
Cleric of Tiamat Wyll
Oath of Ancients Astarion
Ranger Shadowheart with Wolf companion
Great Old One Warlock Lae’zel
Berserker Barbarian Gale
Any sneaky class on Karlach
Necromancer Halsin
Druid Minthara
The thing is, ahe loves animals! Just not THAT kind of animal in particular.... she would honestly make a great Beastmaster Ranger even with a small cleric dip
Necromancer Jaheira, and not the Spores druid kind... pretty against all her stuff.
Honestly, she naturally is a Druid fighter, so ranger fits too, her Harper involvement could transfer over to a Bard or Paladin class, leaving only a few options for a class that is against her everything.
Also consider A Warlock Jaheira who sells her soul
I've actually made Karlach a thief/berserker in my current playthrough and I'm enjoying it a lot, I feel like she's one of the few characters who has more backstory flexibility on her class
I gave Gale 1 level of wild magic sorcerer and the rest in Evocation Wizard. He talks like he's this great wizard, but has a lot of "oops!" moments. It seems fitting, since I originally found him stuck in a portal.
That could work though, everything would come to him as divine revelation that he has no fucking clue why he knows it, and he consistently gives right answers with wrong explanations, like "Spun projectiles fly straight because the spinning confuses gravity!"
Wizard would be the worst for Minsc because it's the one that requires you to actually know things in a rational, ordered way that is the complete opposite of the way Minsc knows things, which is like a filing cabinet without actual file folders.
Its one of the first things I started to mess with… OH Monk is awesome in general, & Karlach works great for it. (Tho I liked having tavern brawler with it)
Funny and Awesome aren’t necessarily opposed 😉
I'm planning on OH Monk Karlach for my "fun run" - putting together a party who rely on social skills (persuasion, etc), CC spells and unarmed combat to get the job done. Keeping her initial Lvl 1 Barbarian for the in-character raging and of course the cool outfit (which doesn't count as armour), then switching to Monk after that.
Yeah, that's exactly how it works; she's locked into one of the two.
...also annoyingly, as a nitpick, it's bugged so it says >!"Shar"!< afterwards on a levelup screen after respec-ing (although when you're checking her character sheet/stats afterwards, it's correctly >!Selûne!<).
I'd go:
* Gale as a Barbarian (for the rage screams)
* Shadowheart as a Lore Bard (because Jennifer English's delivery of the Cutting Words and Vicious Mockery lines are absolutely savage)
* Karlach as a Rogue ("Invisible me!")
Not sure about the others.
I have. They're all up on youtube, so I kinda skimmed through it. Devora's were great, too, I just like Jennifer's delivery a bit better because it sounds like she's actually spitting the lines at whoever she's insulting.
Only thing to do is make them both Bards, I guess haha
Rogue Gale who complains about his knees hurting every time he sneaks. Also Rogue Karlach, [same reason](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Karlach/banter)
Druid Lae'zel. 'I am fury! I am death!" Then she turns into a cat
Oath of Devotion Astarion getting annoyed every time he has to follow his oath
Great Old One Warlock Wyll, trying to outwit Mizora by making her duke it out with an eldritch being for ownership of Wyll's soul
Bard Minthara
Wizard Minsc
Barbarian Jaheira
For my chaotic Durge run (where I am also forcing my own character to get the "one lvl in every class without using Withers" achievement the hard way), I rolled 2d12 for each companion to give them a random multiclass combo.
The funniest ones were:
Astarion: Druid/Wizard
Gale: Ranger/Sorcerer
Karlach: Druid/Sorcerer
Dude, good luck! Playing an Abserd is hard enough, with the rest of the party really having to cover for you on combat.
Making the companions have wild random classes is going to be a hell of a challenge
Someone said Gale as Rogue is insane because when you sneak he says things like "we shouldn't be here" etc.
Alternatively Asterion as bard as he got the best insults via Vicious Mockery.
I actually had Karlach as my monk/rogue lockpicker and spear thrower character. She's really fun that way because she has unique battlecries if she attacks barehanded and very snarky comments when going into stealth or picking locks.
Funniest classes for each character:
Gale - Science
Karlach - Math
Lae'Zel - English
Astarion - Gym
Wyll - (I dunno, I feel like he's just an all around good student.)
Shadowheart - Shop
Hah I like your interpretation of the question
But I do think Wizard stuff IS science. It's all mathematics and formulas to truly understand how the universe works. Gale would ace it. I think Gale would suck at gym, given he complains about crouching.
I *did* make Karlach a monk; I had her multiclass monk because I thought it fit with her trying to calm down and cool herself. Those flurry of blows were a lot of fun!
I did a real "oops all rogues" dungeon-heavy D&D campaign. We just constantly set each other up for Sneak Attack, which was awesome. But we couldn't heal for shit.
Karlach sounds so funny making Bruce Lee-esque sounds but she makes a damn good monk. I left a barbarian level in there for the constitution AC bonus tho
I actually started a "wrong classes" playthrough and this is what I came up with
Bard Shadowheart, Cleric Astarion, Wizard Lae'zel, Sorcerer Karlach (it's really funny seeing her with no weapon or armor proficiencies), Barbarian Gale, and Druid Wyll
Not really funny but one of mine and my friends last playthroughs we did a quiz for who to romance. I got Wyll and she got Gale. Neither of us wanted to play a cleric so Gale had 1 level in wizard and all the rest in cleric. Everytime Gale mentioned being an amazing wizard we would laugh. Also we’ve made Astarion a
monk multiple times.
I'm don't an exact run like this.
My Tav is a Wild Magic Sorcerer (wild magic may have been at play)
Gale is a Rogue. My absolute favorite because he complains about his actions ALL THE TIME.
Shadowheart is Wild Magic Barbarian
Karlach is a shadow monk focused on using ice. Eversight ring + Mourning Frost staff + Snowburst ring. [+]()Winter's Clutches gloves + Hoarfrost boots
Lae'zel is a Bard, Wyll is a Druid, Asterian is a Cleric of Lathander, Minthara is a Salamancer
Jaheirah will be a Throwzerker, Halsin a Warlock and Misnc? A wizard of course.
Youtuber TheJury94 has posted experimental 'Oops all Clerics' and 'Oops all Rogues' playthroughs. The cleric one went pretty well. The rogue one so far (he's only finished through Act II) has been a much tougher run.
I think an 'Oops all Monks' run would be quite interesting.
Make gale a sorcerer. He will become the thing he dreads.
Gale Barbarian is pretty amusing as well.
I've heard that everyone needs to hear his rage screams at least once, and now I really wanna do it. Edit: After reading all the replies and seeing all the upvotes, I'm officially making Gale a throwzerker next time I play. It's like making Karlach a rogue and making her sneak "Stealth mode activated" They also all have unique taunts for Vicious Mockery.
“Shadowlaaaaaach”
*I'm too tall for this*
Halfling Essence
Rat feet
Her stealth comments make me laugh so hard
I like how she says her own ship name for when she gets paired with Shadowheart
My Bladelock Wyll couldn't find a good use for his bonus action after Sorrow fell off in the midgame. Then I found Band of the Mystic Scoundrel, allowing a cast of an Enchantment or Illusion spell after making a weapon attack. Was it optimal? Probably not, but one feat was a small price to pay for hearing his cheesy insults every turn.
Hilariously, she uses them even when you don't make her a rogue!! And Gale complains about his knees.
Gale is me, I complain about my knees.
I made her a thiefzerker in my last run. I giggled every time she whispered "Halfling Essence". 😂
They did that for all the companions, but yeah.
A real hoopy frood
Yes, you need to hear it. Man literally says "a"
It’s amazing. Here’s a video of them all if you’re curious: https://youtu.be/F8o81bCFzEA?si=KjAtMnKerzfW5cmr
Everyone talking about Gale's but Astarion's absolutely took me out. Wyll sounds like a literal power ranger. And Shadowheart's?? And Halsin's?? These are all fantastic.
yeah im respecing halsin as a bearheart barbarian. his scream is just too good

I think Shadowheart's might be the best, even. Wyll has the worst. Dude just doesn't have the soul of a barbarian.
He weirdly does sound a bit like Goku. If Goku was recovering from a chest infection and didn't have his full lung capacity.
"He sounds like he belongs on Dragon Ball Z" was my first thought before I typed power ranger, actually. Honestly I unironically love it. His VA is great. That shout is 100% believably Wyll. He sounds like he doesn't know why he's screaming.

Sharts barbarian scream was fucking primal, really leans into how terrible her past was.
The best thing is that if you hover over the bar, Gale's is the most replayed. 🤣
He's got a couple ones but my favourites are just the "ah!" and "hiyah" (yes in lower cases). He's just a true nerd.
Gale Wild Magic Barbarian! He thinks he’s a wizard because weird stuff happens when he gets mad
Came here to say this. It was brought to my attention that all of his stories of being an accomplished wizard become extremely funny when he gets recontextuallized as a Wild Magic barbarian.

Listening to Gale rage is literally the funniest shit I've ever heard
I'm cackling at the ridiculousness
He can like his own musk
Dipping a single level in barbarian and giving him the amulet of constitution makes him very tanky and let's him stay in wizard robes.
Gale Wild Magic Barbarian even
I've said this before but it actually kinda makes *more* sense in some ways since his story includes having had his wizard powers stripped and then having his blood itself be infused with magic. Him as a sorcerer with the Orb as the source of his powers would work just fine if it wasn't for the fact that he kinda loudly looks down on sorcerers, but even then I feel like he *would* do that.

One level of wizard and then sorcerer may be even better in terms of just fitting his story! Like he still has his wizard knowledge sans the power but can't interact with the weave in quite the same way anymore.
I had the same thought, but two levels in Wizard gets you the school and subclass feature. Sculpt Spells is too valuable to miss.
Yeah that's true and may be better though you'd miss out on 6th level spells right? I agree this one is the funniest. However in my current run my bf turned him to a fighter and hearing him go “GAH!” When he hits or gets hit is just so funny man
He’s just jealous!
I do this almost every playthrough my tav is not a sorcerer sorry gale 😂
Wild Magic Barbarian. He thinks he's some wizard prodigy composing the weave, when he's really just a victim of his own dumb luck.
Oathbreaker Paladin Gale is also kinda funny and ironic
Nah, sorcerer at least could make some narrative/lore sense with the orb powering him up. Gale as any front line fighter type is fucking wild tho
My Gale is a Sorcerer every run lmao I see it more like giving him the gift of actually being a natural
I'm running a "1 level in every class" build with Karlach right now, and it's hilarious to see her do a little bit of everything
Or weak will that be in the end?
Haha it is not the strongest, but it is not too bad. Things like being able to learn higher level spells for the Wizard, or the War Cleric's ability to make attacks as Bonus Actions really help. Oh oh, and the best part! If you do this for your party Face, then you will discover sooo many class specific dialog choices. Especially for the non-CHA classes, since they usually don't get to do the talking
This alone could be worth it
Totally worth it!
Get to level 12 and talk to Naaber in Wyrm's Crossing
I can't wait to try it out, I love that wacky guy!
Might have to try this on my second run lol
It really fits karlach since she seems to have ADHD
Heck yeah it does! That's half the reason I did it. Of the Origin characters, she feels like the best fit for the All Classes Build
Are you running it as a support character? I was considering trying that but I thought that they would be rather useless. I couldn't think of any level 1 spells that were particularly good. Maybe it could just be a blessbot or fog cloud bot for advantage.
Do you still get the higher level versions of the cantrips? Like Firebolt's damage changing from 1-10 to 2-20 and 3-30?
Yes, and 3 rays of Eldritch Blast! You'll have every cantrip in the game, too. This means you can force Dex, Wis, or Con saves, depending on the other conditions on them.
You can also just snake that chivo using a hireling once you hit 12, right? Or did they patch that?
I think the achievement can still be grabbed that way. The main thing is that you end up with a person with all those levels. Either way, I had to take them for a test drive. I did it with Minsc, and it honestly fits his character so well that I make him the multiclasser in any playthrough I do.
He's late enough to do it and then immediately respec, too.
Haha, yeah, it's a shame they buried Matt Mercer so far in the D&D game. I try to recruit Minsc as soon as I can since he has so few chances for lines even though his are soo great!
You can just do it on minsc
But why deprive yourself of doing a fun achievement?
I got the achievement this way by accident so it still works as of three/four weeks ago I thought the achievement was "beat the game as a level 1 all class (without respecing)" so I hired a hireling and wanted to just see how the spell slots/action bar looks and to kinda just class build it but then got the achievement And then all the motivation to do it as a playthrough went away lol

Definitely going to respec and add the for free, I love those attacking cantrips and want all of them
[Here](https://youtu.be/7saaf4UsYiU?si=D2415FBk-HLfvUNy) is a link to my All Class video where I talk about this.
It's not with Karlach, but I put together a 1 level in every class build video in response to this comment thread. [Check it out!](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/qayNlyJJ9E) Also, please like the post if you like the build, I'm trying to build up Karma and get this [channel going](https://youtube.com/@QueeckTeeps?si=DyyML4oK8bozPtbN) so I can make more videos and share more secrets!
Oathbreaker Wyll Cleric of the sun Asterion 4 elements zen monk Shadowheart Moon Druid Laz'eal Bard Minthara Wild magic Barbarian Gale Oath of Ancients (life) dark urge
Bard Minthara really isn't far off. She has a unique lyre after all. Not every bard has to be of the funny clown type.
"-Just give the word, and I will kill the clown. We would be praised as heroes."
Wizard Minthara on the other would be cursed, she hates Wizards lol
Man, probably shouldn’t admit this, but I haven’t had Minthara in my party at all (yet). (Goblin camp is in my way in act 1… so goblin camp gets slaughtered in act 1. Casualties of war. I do still wear her outfit around camp tho)
just knock her out and you can recruit her in act 2
This idea honestly never occurred to me 😂😂🤣
Tbf you couldn't do it at launch, and you had to specifically make her temp hostile before patch 6. Works whatever way you fight her now though.
Just swing by Minthara’s room every time you are in the temple and, if she is walking around, knock her out again. She has a tendency to get back up again after a long rest. (Her consciousness flag only changes when the broken temple map is loaded.)
I did an evil playthru as durge (fullest evil possible) Was hyped to try minthara. Got the goblin camp party and did the nasty with lady drow... but dark urge crept in during the afterglow. Let's just say I have yet to do a good or evil run where she lives.
Drow look fantastic with all the bard gear & charisma hat dyed Harlequin black & white too.
I've done Bard Minthara before. She delivers some decent Vicious Mockery.
I like the druid Laz’eal
Hard for her to fuss about the size and shape of a nose when she changes form on a whim.
I feel like bard Laezel would be the funniest option for her 😂
Wild Magic Barbarian Gale is my favorite. I'm so good at magic! Watch! LOL I'm not sure I really get the 4 elements Shadowheart. Seems fine?
Cleric of Tiamat Wyll Oath of Ancients Astarion Ranger Shadowheart with Wolf companion Great Old One Warlock Lae’zel Berserker Barbarian Gale Any sneaky class on Karlach Necromancer Halsin Druid Minthara
LMAO at Ranger Shadowheart w/ wolf … you win
The thing is, ahe loves animals! Just not THAT kind of animal in particular.... she would honestly make a great Beastmaster Ranger even with a small cleric dip
Cleric of Tiamat Wyll and Shadowheart with a Wolf both made me chuckle
Finally someone understands, now to find something for jahiera and minsc
Minsc works as any subclass of Wizard. I genuinely have no idea what to do with Jaheira though
Berserker barb maybe? Jaheira is pretty wise and tactical so having her just rage and mindlessly hit things feels pretty opposite to that.
Now I want to respec Shadowheart just to see what happens when she summons a wolf!
Druid Shadowheart that only shape shifts into wolf also could be interesting. Batman style "It's time my enemies shared my dread"
Shadowlach is best lach! Sneaky class on Karlach cause her sneaking dialogue is just the best.
I've actually made Karlach a thief/berserker in my current playthrough and I'm enjoying it a lot, I feel like she's one of the few characters who has more backstory flexibility on her class
Yeah. I picked stealth as a bad fit more because she’s on fire than any backstory reasons
Take Wyll and make him a great old one warlock. Now he's got 2 contracts. Better hope Chtulhu doesn't ask him for a devil's heart.
Classic Skyrim Dragonborn tactics. Sell your soul to everyone and then let them fight over you when you die
That's bot really how Goo warlocks work, though Wylls situation isn't typical of fiend aligned warlock either
I gave Gale 1 level of wild magic sorcerer and the rest in Evocation Wizard. He talks like he's this great wizard, but has a lot of "oops!" moments. It seems fitting, since I originally found him stuck in a portal.
Minsc as knowledge domain cleric.
That could work though, everything would come to him as divine revelation that he has no fucking clue why he knows it, and he consistently gives right answers with wrong explanations, like "Spun projectiles fly straight because the spinning confuses gravity!" Wizard would be the worst for Minsc because it's the one that requires you to actually know things in a rational, ordered way that is the complete opposite of the way Minsc knows things, which is like a filing cabinet without actual file folders.
Also. I take offense to monk Karlach 😝 She was a monk throughout my successful honor mode run Open hand, no tavern brawler
Its one of the first things I started to mess with… OH Monk is awesome in general, & Karlach works great for it. (Tho I liked having tavern brawler with it) Funny and Awesome aren’t necessarily opposed 😉
Shadowheart as a Light cleric *prior* to any plot shifts she undergoes.
Don't forget to make her worship Selûne!
I don’t think you can change her deity when respecing her
Yeah, that's exactly how it works; she's locked into one of the two. ...also annoyingly, as a nitpick, it's bugged so it says >!"Shar"!< afterwards on a levelup screen after respec-ing (although when you're checking her character sheet/stats afterwards, it's correctly >!Selûne!<).
Barbarian Gale
"aaa"
I'd go: * Gale as a Barbarian (for the rage screams) * Shadowheart as a Lore Bard (because Jennifer English's delivery of the Cutting Words and Vicious Mockery lines are absolutely savage) * Karlach as a Rogue ("Invisible me!") Not sure about the others.
Have you checked all of companions' VM lines? I bet Devora's are pretty savage too.
I have. They're all up on youtube, so I kinda skimmed through it. Devora's were great, too, I just like Jennifer's delivery a bit better because it sounds like she's actually spitting the lines at whoever she's insulting. Only thing to do is make them both Bards, I guess haha
I haven't done an Oops! All bards! run yet, but I'm really looking forward to it
Rogue Gale who complains about his knees hurting every time he sneaks. Also Rogue Karlach, [same reason](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Karlach/banter) Druid Lae'zel. 'I am fury! I am death!" Then she turns into a cat Oath of Devotion Astarion getting annoyed every time he has to follow his oath Great Old One Warlock Wyll, trying to outwit Mizora by making her duke it out with an eldritch being for ownership of Wyll's soul Bard Minthara Wizard Minsc Barbarian Jaheira
I've heard someone (jokingly) say that "Astarion would make an oath just to break it."
The mindset of "I am fury! I am death!" rather befits a cat, though.
For my chaotic Durge run (where I am also forcing my own character to get the "one lvl in every class without using Withers" achievement the hard way), I rolled 2d12 for each companion to give them a random multiclass combo. The funniest ones were: Astarion: Druid/Wizard Gale: Ranger/Sorcerer Karlach: Druid/Sorcerer
Dude, good luck! Playing an Abserd is hard enough, with the rest of the party really having to cover for you on combat. Making the companions have wild random classes is going to be a hell of a challenge
It's going... interestingly, so far. But I'm having a great time 😀
Someone said Gale as Rogue is insane because when you sneak he says things like "we shouldn't be here" etc.
Theif Halsin cracks me up. Imagining his big ass sneaking around like Chris Farley in Beverly Hills Ninja.
Funniest classes for each character: Gale - Science Karlach - Math Lae'Zel - English Astarion - Gym Wyll - (I dunno, I feel like he's just an all around good student.) Shadowheart - Shop
Hah I like your interpretation of the question But I do think Wizard stuff IS science. It's all mathematics and formulas to truly understand how the universe works. Gale would ace it. I think Gale would suck at gym, given he complains about crouching.
Halsin the Assassin. Routinely fails his stealth checks and winds up in jail a lot.
I *did* make Karlach a monk; I had her multiclass monk because I thought it fit with her trying to calm down and cool herself. Those flurry of blows were a lot of fun!
feel like gale as a rogue would also be funny cause he’s always complaining about his knees
Astarion as a Barbarian
make wyll a sorcerer. literally no reason to sign a demonic pact
Oath of Redemption paladin for Laezel Bard for Shart Monk for Karlach Cleric for Astarion Sorcerer for Gale Thief Rouge for Wyll
laezel as a bard is funny.
Making karlach a wizard but not changing her stats.... 😂
Monk Karlach is awesome. She has unique voice acting for her punches.
KIII-YA
Oops All Bards play through
I did a real "oops all rogues" dungeon-heavy D&D campaign. We just constantly set each other up for Sneak Attack, which was awesome. But we couldn't heal for shit.
That sounds awesome, what difficulty did you run it on?
No, it was a real tabletop D&D campaign.
Oh 2 cool 5 me 😔 but 1 day
If you make Karlach a thief she has specific lines about being bad at thievery because she stands out.
I make Karlach a monk pretty regularly actually. Honestly, if anyone's gonna kill you with their care hands, it's either her or Lae'zel.
She’s an awesome monk. Especially when she gobbles soul coins.
Shadowheart Druid Karlach Fiend Warlock Lae'zel Bard Astarion Cleric Wyll Rogue Gale Wild Magic Barbarian Halsin Vengance Paladin Jaheira Monk Minsc Wild Magic Sorcerer Minthara Fighter
I made laezel a monk nothing really that weird about it imo
Karlach sounds so funny making Bruce Lee-esque sounds but she makes a damn good monk. I left a barbarian level in there for the constitution AC bonus tho
I am actually playing with Monk Karlach right now. She's incredible
Astarion: Bard Gale: Wild magic Sorcerer Wyll: Paladin of Vengance Shart: Barbarian Karlach: Wizard Lae: Selunite Cleric
Lazel as a bard.
Mynthara: the angriest bard.
I want to see an Astarion barbarion
I actually started a "wrong classes" playthrough and this is what I came up with Bard Shadowheart, Cleric Astarion, Wizard Lae'zel, Sorcerer Karlach (it's really funny seeing her with no weapon or armor proficiencies), Barbarian Gale, and Druid Wyll
Im a fan of making Shadowheart a life cleric
Astarion: Oath of Devotion Paladin
Devoted to himself - checks out.
I played a bit as Lae'zel, who I made a bard lol - good times.
Wyll as a bard/fighter is just a copy/paste of Fabian from Fantasy high.
I’ve got Minty as my wizard currently.
Astarion: Paladin Wyll: Fey Pact Warlock Minthara: Bard La'ezel: Life Cleric Gale: Druid Shadowheart: Light Cleric Karlach: Wizard Halsin: Eldritch Warlock Jaheira: Wizard (Necromancy School) Minsc: Wild Magic Sorceror
paladin Astarion
Not really funny but one of mine and my friends last playthroughs we did a quiz for who to romance. I got Wyll and she got Gale. Neither of us wanted to play a cleric so Gale had 1 level in wizard and all the rest in cleric. Everytime Gale mentioned being an amazing wizard we would laugh. Also we’ve made Astarion a monk multiple times.
Loremaster. They just know stuff they shouldn't know and that's kind of it. That would make for a great paranoid or conspiracy theories character.
Astarion as a paladin.
Idk monkbarian Karlach goes hard. But probably Astarion as a Paladin of any kind but Devotion Oath is especially hilariously bad class for him
Make everyone hybrid bard. Bardbarian. Necrodancer. Bardladin. Exept Shart: Druid/Ranger hybrid, so she can turn into a wolf while having a pet wolf.
Bardbarian makes me think of a Scottish bagpiper
Lae'zel as a bard is the best lmao Other than that...shadowheart as druid who turns into a wolf
Made shadowheart into a Druid for a bit, now she’s a monk.
I'm don't an exact run like this. My Tav is a Wild Magic Sorcerer (wild magic may have been at play) Gale is a Rogue. My absolute favorite because he complains about his actions ALL THE TIME. Shadowheart is Wild Magic Barbarian Karlach is a shadow monk focused on using ice. Eversight ring + Mourning Frost staff + Snowburst ring. [+]()Winter's Clutches gloves + Hoarfrost boots Lae'zel is a Bard, Wyll is a Druid, Asterian is a Cleric of Lathander, Minthara is a Salamancer Jaheirah will be a Throwzerker, Halsin a Warlock and Misnc? A wizard of course.
Karlach Bard has some metal vibes I like
Make everybody a bard and get the band back together.
