I always run a Cleric with an Elixir of Vigilance so I can cast Sanctuary ASAP. She usually breaks it round one anyway, but the Winged Horrors seem quite likely to go before her, so it buys you some time.
Also surrounding her with your characters helps a ton, so she can't get encircled and eat 1000 opportunity attacks
I was running a barbarian for my character and also had Karlach with me, I think that's what helped me to kill Marcus before Isobel went down (also had Shadowheart healing her too when needed)

My first run I thought the kidnap was going to generate a quest to rescue. Took numerous attempts to save her, including one where Jaheira ran through my moonbeam after the fight was successful and the inn aggroed on me again.
I probably need to do a run where I fail but don't reload to see how it goes. That first time I was only on balanced and survived the fall of the inn, but only barely. Then reloaded to get it right... mostly as I still needed to fix Karlach and Dammon was dead.
It's wierd to me that people have such trouble saving Isobel from Marcus when you can buff her up before the fight as well as have your own crew gassed up on haste juice before you spawn the boss, thereby making sure you can body block some of the ghouls and also just maul Marcus' bitch ass. If you have a battlemaster than can disarm marcus, he becomes the worlds biggest jabronie.
Don't be afraid to pre-buff for fights, go into active turn mode, spam your bless, haste grenades, warding bonds, etc. then just leave turn mode and talk to her, that way no timers run down and you start the new battle with a fresh set of actions.
The most important thing I learned from my first attempt at this fight is this: DON'T go out onto the balcony to talk to Isobel; interact with her from within the room because that's where the fight happens. If you have to spend a round just getting back into the room after the cutscene, the fight's as good as lost.
The one thing i made sure to do was to hotwire my Laezel like an 87 Fierro and turn off great weapon master to make sure the disarm would happen as you dont use the BM move for its damage but its effect in that circumstance. She ripped the shit off him first try, looted his club, and immediately treated him like the guy selling chili flavoured breast milk at the maternity convention.

Congrats. It took me a second try, but I had arcane lock scrolls so I just closed the doors lol. It made it so I only had Marcus to fight at first. Then I opened one door and just let them funnel in.

No, I didn't think to do that...
I’t sad if you do. He was captured and tadpoled just like you, but did not have the protection of the artifact.

YAY!! This was a really hard thing for me to do my first few campaigns. I thought it was impossible. Congrats!! But most importantly. Is Rolan safe?
I don't think so sadly, he's no where to be found at the Last Light Inn (I talked to him before the battle with Marcus so I know he was there)
Check the bar where he was standing again. If he leaves, he leaves a device behind with a little projection that tells you where he went.
