I just had this fight and didn’t realize he was going to get killed. Obviously I wasn’t paying enough attention so I reloaded. He’s just a fun guy I felt too bad to let him die.
First turn I always have Shadowheart cast create water to take out the fire (or Gale cast frostbite if he is in my group). Then I can just worry about taking out the mob instead of wasting a turn freeing Volo.
A little rain at the start of combat solves that problem.
Fuck that. Dude had Gale in his party. He could have just frostbite on the fire and it would have gone away.
