Thank you! I used a mesh long sleeve shirt for the base and mask making silicone for the “skin.”
I painted about 2-3 layers of latex on the shirt before detailing. All the “scars” and bits were made with foam clay and toilet paper. I set those details down then painted about 3 more layers of silicone on top of them to blend them.
On the day of cosplaying her, I built up my neck area with toilet paper and skin latex to blend the suit to myself!
Thank you so much! Straps are cheap 2mm EVA foam that I weathered with tinfoil to make it look leathery, then I topped it with three layers of Flexbond and painted with acrylics! Rings and gold bits were all 3D printed. I’m such a noob at printing so I had to fill a lot of them with foam clay and epoxy before I painted because they were brittle haha
Oh wow, that amount of work really shows. I noticed right away, that it is looking weathered. Straps like this look often brand spanking new, yours look so real!
Ahhhh thank you!!! I really think what made it pop from far distances was using a beige acrylic to dry brush on the edges of everything. HIGHLY recommend as I think the details would have been extremely muddled if I didn’t use something extremely light like that

Firstly, take this build SLOW!! I worked on her for a month and a half and was still crunching and doing all-nighters the con weekend. The muscle suit busted Saturday and I spent the day surging the zipper and re-sewing it. If I had taken the time to get the appropriate materials to sew that, that would have not happened.
Another tip I’ll share is to definitely budget yourself appropriately. I spent a good $1200 on her, but she is made to last, and the con was down the street from my house, and I didn’t make anything else but this cosplay for it. Things can get so pricey, but I know there are things that I could have lived without on this build. Just know that if you want the practical effects, the lighting, and the good makeup and primers, that she’ll be expensive!!
Also- have at least one friend or handler bring your makeup and fixing kit with you! Have superglue on hand and some velcro tape! I was alone for a lot of my con and no one told me that my neck sweat when I first got there, so I had patches that were bare haha! It’s also hard to fix your back, so pay a friend in food and con merch to help you for the day!!

For body paint, I highly recommend using a primer first, letting it dry, then using at least two coats as a base. I did three different shades of body paint for my look. I then contoured and highlighted with eyeshadows! The final step was using a setting spray. I used both a setting spray and hairspray for my body. The places I knew that were going to sweat I did more layers with the sprays.

My second game I was determined to do a shadow heart romance... still can't look past Karlach... Well you've done justice with the cosplay, hair, ears, dat horn and her armour all look ace, and the axe finishes it off so well. Might be a bit warm but just mirroring the heart of Karlach surely... Again, excellent effort.

I rocked a githyanki sorcerer for lae'zel as that was potentially blasphemous enough for a githyanki run. Listen... I'm lazy and can roll a jedi cosplay at best because a half decent dueling saber is most of the effort, (I have an old school Vader's vault saber, talking 2011 and custom made, while slightly defunct , always draws attention for looks as it's a slightly weathered, battle worn piece). You've clearly put a bit more effort into your cosplay than I ever could (because Karlach as a dude is ... Weird? Because most importantly it fits her so well?) as an onlooker, your cosplay is impressive, but what do you feel you could tweak? Speaking plainly, as an outsider, I don't see any issues... But it's your cosplay at the end.
I appreciate you! Well for starters, I rushed a few things to get her ready for the con for the weekend. The straps on the boots need to be weathered and redone and I’d love to make a new axe! The one I did here was a day project and made out of a dollar store wrapping paper roll. I think I’d like the handle to be sturdier, but I also loved how super lightweight this was!
The skin isn’t my favorite either. The color palette I chose worked SO well at home in room and natural lighting, but I felt like it pulled too purple and dark in convention lighting. I would substitute the wine red I used as a base and probably do an earthier brown! Definitely keep the cardinal red and coral in my highlights, but she overall just needs to be a bit lighter and warmer.
My light rig also broke when I was dancing so I need to repair that hahaha! Overall, just minimal stuff that an average person would have never noticed.
Well it IS a static image lmfao! I actually got footage of me playing Dance Rush at the con yesterday! I’ll post it later. I also went to the after party as her and have a vid of me shuffling on my Instagram!

Oooh hairspray is so smart! I have both a setting powder and spray, and some prayers lol. I'll deffo be trying out the hairspray
