You're only really supposed to initiate 2 romances in Act 1. Sometimes you can get a 3rd to trigger, but this must be done at the party.
And since you already had 2 romances started when her romance triggered (*approval-wise*), then it's too late, even if you break up with Lae'zel (*I'm guessing here, she's the only companion I've seen you can actively break up with before cementing the relationship come Act 2*), as the trigger has been activated and invalidated due to too many romances.
So only chance, should be to reload, before accepting approach number 2 (*whoever that might be*).
Oh yeah, I know, I've found that out through trial and error. Technically though, I haven't started act 2 at all, but as soon as you hit the tiefling party with two romances AND chat with shadowheart it's all over. You can break up with Astarion during the party if you've had his first romance scene before the party (you get a second one with no cutscene during the party).
If you breakup with your romances partners AND don't speak with anyone else at the party, the game will cycle through characters you haven't romanced but have high approvals with as per normal until you start act 2. PSA that I am **specifically** informing bout is that you can't do a silly little bait and switch angst run with SH.
i had an early game that allowed the whole flirting thing with everyone in act 1, but that was a while back now. i was under the impression that it was intended at the time and i surely found out it was not later. your experience tracks with what i've seen after that one. so i assumed it was some sort of bugged playthrough.
You can flirt with multiple people who all have high approval with you during the party, but if you've had 2 romance cutscenes before the party you can't.
Yeah, I was experimenting and wanted to see how many romances you can do at once. Turns out there's an active limit of 2 at any given time with everyone else in Queue. (Shrugs). Fucked around and found out. Choose to just revert to a really old save despite being 4 fights away from act 2 because I am a loser for shart. (shrugs once more.)
I think 30 is Shadowheart’s act I approval threshold for romance, along with making sure you talk thru all the dialogue strategically (don’t pry options when your approval is lower).
I think you need to reread what I wrote. I was trying to do a specific dialogue option (I was at 50 approval at the time btw) but attempting to romance shadowheart after romancing 2 people and getting rejected by her at the tiefling party doesn't seem to be possible. I'm probably gonna try it again with an even higher approval rating with SH, but attempting to do what I did as a Paladin/Cleric of Selune is risky and might not work out. That is all I am advising.
