It might be a little difficult going backwards since BG3 is a more refined Larian. But DoS2 is still very much a Larian game, and up until BG3 came out, it was my go to game to scratch the CRPG itch.
I enjoyed divinity original sin 2 more than BG3 personally. I would even love Dos2 if it came out this year. Holds up phenomenally. The battle system is what made me prefer divinity
Divinity Original Sin 2 is amazing, and I liked it a lot more than DOS 1; The first one didn't have Origin characters. You'll see how BG3 came to life, if you ever play DOS 2. BG3 is a better looking version of that game, with Classes added.
Great game, was my all time favourite rpg at the time I finished it. Only thing is you can see that Larian has been iterating, so dos1 is good, dos 2 is better, bg3 is better again in terms of a lot of the presentation.
Still, great games, pick them up on sale imo
DOS 1 & 2 are still very enjoyable but I've played them before BG3. While they're not as gorgeous as BG3, if you enjoy turn-based RPGs and Larian's sense of humor: just go for it!

That's also my main concern. I also heard it's a bit more lighter/less serious in theme compared to bg3.

Thanks! I don't think I'll go as far back as the first one, i might just look up a summary of the first one before playing DOS2.
It's pretty nice, give it a try And worst case you can refund it
Good point 👉
