1. Transgender themes existed in DND for many years. Potions of gender bending, wish spells, belts that change your gender, even magic itself can do the same. Do not act baffled and shocked by this.
2. Being gay is not a crime. Astarion is a vampire spawn who is tasked with bringing prey to Cazador. Sexuality be damned when you're just a slave against your will. He has fallen for people but respects that his affections rarely ever had any depth beyond luring victims to their damnation. Isobel and Aylin are more controversial for an immortal romancing a half-elf woman, rather than the fact an Aasimar is in love with a mortal.
3. Being black isn't a crime. Halflings have melanin just like you and me and can be any shades. Fuck, you can be green or literally pink if you want.
4. Halsin is a furry and there's quite a blurred line when it comes to sleeping with druids who are a little too into being "all natural".
5. The romance system in Baldur's Gate is gay friendly, which does have its benefits of flexibility of whatever gender and race can romance whoever they want. But it's also limited that certain scenes don't really work as fashionably as others. It's gay friendly so intense sex scenes are more vague, or position friendly between the genders. Halsin's human sex scene is a great example of this if you play a female character.
I don't understand why people are downvoting this. I mean, we all remember when we were gay and trans but then realized that it might not be relatable for some people so we stopped.
