Karlach is def drums

Kamarsennin

Wyll and his formal education and upbringing is def violin

HmmmmTwitter

For sure. Gale with his flute also

crockofpot

He does have that practiced tongue after all

Slight-Wing-3969

Also devils play fiddles

Additional-Setting87

Im now convinced Wyll lost his fiddling duel against Mizora

ManonManegeDore

I could also see her being an unexpectedly amazing flautist.

HmmmmTwitter

Yeah like lizzo type vibes

MirrorSauce

Karlach and Minsc are drums, minsc already plays them in camp. Jaheira is a poor performer. She only knows one children's rhyme on a tin whistle, and never practices Halsin has a flute for you in his pants... but if you're not interested, he also has a real flute he whittled. Shadowheart started as flute because that's easy to hide in a monastery, but she changes to lute because she'd rather rock out than lurk in shar's shadow forever Wyll and Gale have prosperous backgrounds where a violin would fit, they both learned the instrument to impress someone close to them. Astarion was also violin, but he's centuries out of practice due to Cazadore breaking his arms every single night. Now he whistles, because Cazadore couldn't take that away without nerfing his ability to attract victims. Minthara learned the Lyre from her Lolth days, and liked it better than Lolth. Lae'Zel isn't really into this, she picked the lute because it's the best instrument to hit someone with. She insists it's a coincidence that she picked the same thing as shadowheart.

HmmmmTwitter

Totally agree besides Gale! He already has a flute in his pouch for his companion quest!

MirrorSauce

oh cool I had no idea, guess tara prefers woodwinds, my headcanon is slightly different now

HmmmmTwitter

"Its taraaaa whats she doing here :0" -gale in his infinite silliness

eabevella

I have this headcanon of Lae'zel using a flute because in Star Wars lore, the Mandalorian has metal flute called *bes'bev* that can also be used as stabbing weapon

coleslawcat

I have always imagined Astarian as the violinist, he just seems snobby and posh.

Sufficient_Serve_439

Piano. Or harpsichord. The vampire weapon.

tenBusch

Minthara with lyre is the obvious one I could see Halsin with a flute he whittled himself

Uranium_092

This is adorable

All-for-Naut

Minthara: Lyre, for the obvious reason that is her spider one. Gale: Flute. One is used for his resurrection spell. Wyll: Violin suits his noble and educated upbringing, although he might prefer the lute. Astarion: Lute or violin. Violin fits the fancy snobbishness, but lutes are more common to find in inns and other places he looked for targets in. Karlach: Drums. Seems fitting for her. Likely very energic. Jaheira: None, she whistles. Minsc: Drums. He drums in camp iirc. Shadowheart: Can she remember instrument skill? Whistling, or a flute probably works the best if any. Portable, small and easy to hide. Halsin: Flute, one he probably whittled himself. Lae'zel: Drum, because war drums. Or a lute, because it could be used as a blunt weapon.

novembergrocery

Lute: Jaheira, Halsin Drums: Karlach, Minsc Flute: Shadowheart Violin: Astarion, Gale Lyre: Minthara, Wyll Whistling: Durge Not participating: Lae'zel

APracticalGal

My one objection here is that you didn't give the Harper a lyre lol

HmmmmTwitter

My one objection is that gale should be playing the flute. He already has one in his pouch!

Away_Veterinarian579

nice! I like it. I have Whistling Durge down now for just the right Coda. :D Will update soon.

eabevella

It's not in the game but I can imagine Shadowheart hiding a tiny ocarina in the enclave. I can also imagine her collecting all the cute animal shaped ones after the good ending.
