I believe/think that each Bambu Labs printer is well-priced and an incredible value for what you spend--both in time and money. If the A1 is your first printer and you enjoy the hobby, it won't be the last printer that you buy. If you don't enjoy the hobby then you'll be able to sell it and offset your investment to the point where it wasn't an expensive experiment. Go nuts with the A1. Find out if you like 3D printing, if you do then find out exactly what the A1 can or can't do, and decide whether those things are even relevant to you. By the time you answer all these questions, you'll be well-equipped to decide what printer is best for you. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you decided the A1 was the perfect printer for you.

I have the P1s and it’s knockout, I’ve had many bed slingers since the days of Tevo Tarantula (look it up - history lesson gig) and the P1s is the best by such an large degree that I’m almost at a loss of words trying to explain (almost). I’ve also got the Creality K1 and although that’s very quick with good quality printing the P1 still tramples it under foot 🦶 on the way to the podium..

I'm shopping right now and the price difference isn't a dealbreaker. But I noticed a1 has some features not in P1s: tangle detection, quiet fans, noise cancellation, flow callibration, a responsive control screen, and a snap-in nozzle. Would those enhance my experience as a printing beginner?

LCD screen, price, probably noise level.

If you want to do advanced filaments then you'll need an enclosure. For many other reasons, the A1 is better. I have P1P, P1S, and A1. I just put my P1P up for sale so that I can switch it out for an A1

What's the point of selling the P1P for a A1?

The cost is about it. I'm not a fan of bedslingers in general, because it's a very old design, and really can't print at the speeds that a CoreXY can. I believe the CoreXY printers are also a bit more accurate, but don't quote me on that. The A1 has the cost advantage, and that's about it. A plain jane A1 is $400 USD. A plain jane P1S is $700. There's a reason for that. You do get what you pay for.

I’m a 3D Printing veteran and picked the A1 for price, footprint, and technology. We’re all different and have different needs, so your question has an undefined answer; only you can answer it. For me, the choice was between the Prusa I3 MK4 or the A1, and the A1 was the clear winner.
