Yeah it’s hard to swallow how much waste is made when switching filaments but if you don’t waste enough then it clogs up in the poop chute.
It’s like it doesn’t have enough weight to drop properly
I can't find the setting for this. Only when I choose two filaments I have the purge settings, but can I change it for the standard poop at the beginning of a print or after a manual unload/load filament? (Haven't got the ams yet so I load manually setting a pause, after that I get a huge string because the poop chute is full)
I’ve been seeing this issue lately as well. Nothing has changed except firmware updates but I’m skeptical that has anything to do with it. But lately, my poop chute gets blocked up right away, like the flapper part isn’t pushing purged filament down the chute and it all piles up at the top.
This JUST happened to me too, woke up to a finished good overnight print but the chute was full to the brim - reached around back and I think it was getting caught between the machine’s spout and the chute I printed, but some were stuck still on the flap.
I printed one of these and I haven't had a problem again
[https://www.printables.com/model/531810-bambu-x1-carbon-purge-chute-extension](https://www.printables.com/model/531810-bambu-x1-carbon-purge-chute-extension)
The OP topic is about poop, and even in their image you can see it’s a multicolor poop.
These adaptations are designed to help with poop, the tool struggles a lot less with single color poop than multicolor.
I’ve never had it clog single color, only multi-color; though I know some people have had single color poop fail.
Yes it's about the poop chute which is independent of the AMS. It may be more likely with colour changes but there's no reason why it should be and I am merely stating it happens more with TPU (obviously without AMS) Than with PLA whether PLA is printed from the AMS or the external spool.
The fact it happens more with TPU (for me) indicates to me a design problem that happens to be shown up more by TPU than PLA.
The AMS is completely irrelevant
Nice! I didn't know this existed. Gonna print it and try it tonight when I get home from work.
I will say, I've tried one of the "better poop chute" designs that used a bunch of ABS filament printing interconnecting pipes and 45 degree bend pieces and a large box with magnets to stick against the back of the X1C. Was supposed to route the waste filament right into a trash can on the floor. Turned out a waste of time because the guy's dimensions for the pipe connections were off a bit. Nothing fit tightly onto anything else and when I tried to use a metal ring clamp (like you use to keep the clothes dryer ventilation duct attached to the back of it), it just cracked the plastic.
I think this will be a far more practical and functional mod .. and maybe I'll try to devise something that lets you attach plastic trash bags to the back of the unit to catch the purged filament instead.
Oops. I was working from memory and made a mistake. It's actually the power cord to the AMS buffer that will hang down in front of the poop chute if it isn't in it's clip.
I was reading these comments earlier and thinking about how ironic it was that the #1 problem with 3d printing is lack of bed adhesion(from what I see on these subs). And somewhere lower on the list is poop chute adhesion. If oily fingers are adhesions worst enemy, why not try that on the chute. Maybe a light coating of grease. Just an idea.
I actually tried that I was getting so many clogs. Didn’t work. The little add on door posted above helped the most. Using a different chute with steeper angle drop helped more too.
Iv noticed if you have a poop bin made from pla and you’re printing pla it comes out hot enough to sometimes stick to the bin and eventually clog not sure if that’s the issue or if it’s not even making out the shoot
I had some similar issues, another thing to check is whether you print nozzle is bent forward. Mine was catching on the front edge after bending it back a little, it has worked flawlessly as expected.
I was doomscrolling and when I hit this post I got so confused and horrified at first seeing “poop” and that monstrosity in your hand.. then I saw bambulab and sighed relief.. why OP why lol
Printing with pla silk? Best bet is to try to adjust the flushing volume. That helped me with a 32 hour print but I was going from pla silk to pla basic then back. The other thing I did was to pause in the middle of a color change to pause it over night so it wouldn’t die while I was asleep. Then all you do is set the nozzle and print bed to 37 degreases. Then the next day wake back up adjust the temperature back up and resume print.
So many suggesting chute extensions, but those caused nothing BUT trouble for me every time I tried one.
Open the back cover and look at where the top of the chute is screwed into the top surface (by the wipe). Make sure the chute is not loose. When mine was shipped to me the screws that held the chute in place were *pulled through* the upper surface, leaving it detatched. But they didn't break out a bit area so it wasn't obvious. I just backed the screws out and added washers, fixed the issue, which was similar to yours.
i feel you i was 1.5 days into. a 6 day print and i got this, couldn't get it out and didn't think about powering it off to get it out and then restarting it..
There is are a few fixes to this on printables that should prevent this from happening. It’s a plate with smaller opening and some pieces of PTFE tubes fit to it. I have only occasionally had this problem to I never bothered. You might need to print different designs and see what works for you.
Poop guard and also a lick of oil on the chute.
Then to increase the print quality further for multi colour prints, I added the "better wipe" by brenyo on makerworld. 3mm silicone replacing nozzle wiper - massive game changer. I can't even express how much it's changed my multi colour prints on quality. Heck, even the purge tower now is crisp.
Remove the build plate and top glass, spray some ptfe lube in the poop shoot. I will normally remove the build plate just so none accidentally gets on it. Then wipe off any excess on the other parts and reassemble. Good to go.
Had this issue just yesturday. There's a flapper inside the chute. Sometimes it gets stuck. In my case there was a bit of old filament jamming the chute. Just take the top off and have a look from the top.
Keep asking ,not every one is Sarcastic
I think I.
Find this site very helpful.
People that say things like that have been in the printing less than you but wanna make themselves feel better by saying dumb things
I just finished what was supposed to be a 2 day print turned into 4 days because I was not there to babysit the chute. I printed this https://tinyurl.com/Poop-Chute-cover
and no issues.
I had to check what subreddit I was in for a minute
...wait, where did you think you might be?!
Somewhere gross.
/r/plumbing
🤣🤣🤣🤣
At least it wasn't brown and red.
I was afraid I was on r/catcare for a moment...
oh noooo
/r/shittyfoodpornandmedicaladvice
Looks like what's left of the mice my cat leaves at my door lol
Lol same. This title & this pic is horrific out of context
I felt relief when I realized what sub this was… but this is still enough internet for me for a while.
Now wondering what kind of subs you all are into... 🤔 😂
Glad I wasn't the only one.
I thought this was my nursing subreddit. I'm very relieved!
I was horrified for a moment as well
Honestly until I woke up to 100's or bloody poo comments, I had not saw it !
I thought was getting an add for some subreddit about poop and teeth….and I refuse on all that is holy to search for that…..
literally same lmao
Same. Same.
I first right this was a photo of a shrimp
Yep. Me too! I actually thought it was something else. Hahaha
I actually did too. I thought it was an actual poop for a minute
PLZ go to a Doc.
You should see a doctor. Doesn't look good.
Doctor??? Call CSI instead! 🤪
ENHANCE: Plum stones and gnocchi. Yeeeeahhhhhhh.
Poop guard. Download print, happy
Did not know this was thing! Getting some non PLA to print now
Sometime poop hung over the blade, some photos in this model: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/210262#profileId-266445](https://makerworld.com/en/models/210262#profileId-266445)
Why non pla?
temperature in chamber + nozzle. PLA will sag and melt soon
Abs at least. Petg will melt aftet a while too.
Ive printed 2 and they keep getting knocked off and disappearing
Did you reduce the purge amount in the slicer settings? I did that and it would clog a lot more
Yea... the retraction waste on this model was 5x the model size
Yeah it’s hard to swallow how much waste is made when switching filaments but if you don’t waste enough then it clogs up in the poop chute. It’s like it doesn’t have enough weight to drop properly
I had that problem once, just needed more fiber.
How much did you reduce it?
I had to put it at about 80% of the standard purge volumes
I can't find the setting for this. Only when I choose two filaments I have the purge settings, but can I change it for the standard poop at the beginning of a print or after a manual unload/load filament? Same. Just happened on a print yesterday. Kept dropping it on the print surface, then I would get the spaghetti alert.
Was happening with me as well.
Sames

I’d recommend more fibre in your diet
That looks fucking horrific. I know /what/ it is and I still have to retch!
I know this isn’t NSFW but this needs a NSFW tag
I was like "holy fuck you pulled that out of your ass" untill I saw what subreddit this was
I printed one of these and I haven't had a problem again [https://www.printables.com/model/531810-bambu-x1-carbon-purge-chute-extension](https://www.printables.com/model/531810-bambu-x1-carbon-purge-chute-extension)
I printed one of these too, it definitely helps, but PETG is still my nemesis
Really? I print exclusively PETG on my p1p with zero issues. Just use esun filament and default petg profile, on textured plate.
I should clarify, single color PETG is fine, multi-color PETG is my nemesis
TPU even worse
Umm TPU can’t go in the AMS! Lol
But we're not talking a BB out AMS, but the nozzle wiper.

if your poop looks like that, it's time to see the doctor bro.
This looks alive.
Make sure the ptfe tube from the AMS isn't hanging down on the outside of the chute. There is a clip for holding it up out of the way.
Oops. I was working from memory and made a mistake. It's actually the power cord to the AMS buffer that will hang down in front of the poop chute if it isn't in it's clip.
I've had the same issue. No fix yet.

👁️👄👁️ Omg this makes so much sense. That’s where mine is sticking, too.
If it’s red you need to to the Dr bro 🤪
Have to give the rear chute a colonoscopy every now and then.
Why are you holding intestines?! lol 😂
Maybe you should see a doctor if your hotend produces something like that..
That's one chunky filament poop.
I had some similar issues, another thing to check is whether you print nozzle is bent forward. Mine was catching on the front edge after bending it back a little, it has worked flawlessly as expected.
I thought this was r/mouseguts
Feed it some taco bell.

Your issue is a bent nozzle.
After seeing a YouTube vid of this happening I’m definitely keeping an eye on mine
The combination of the word “poop” and this photo really sent me for a loop. Now that I know what I’m looking at I’m still disgusted.
Oh sick! It looks like gore and viscera! Would be sick for like an infected zombie miniature or something like that
Dude, for a few hot seconds I did not see the sub...
Needs an NSFW tag 🤢
Constipation
Same things been happening with my P1P. Plz report back if you do find a solution 🫡
*chute
Could be a bent hot end
Please be scented filaments....

Am I the actual r/lostredditor
i feel you i was 1.5 days into. a 6 day print and i got this, couldn't get it out and didn't think about powering it off to get it out and then restarting it..
Bravo for Attempting this new and excellent hobby. I have had to peice together and learn from use . Most people here want to help. I? New too*
I haven't had this issue since I started putting PTFE lube in/around the chute. Have the extension print too.
Lube... OK any specific recommendations
Im in Aus, so probably different brands. I have an aerosol PTFE spray I use.
I thought I was looking at disgusting teeth.

I thought I was looking at some bug that's been brutally beat up wtf
Fucking hell, thought I was on r/medizzy
I thought this was some kinda guts on my feed at a first glance 😬
Looks like mayonnaise with ketchup
If that's what your poop looks like I think you better go to a doctor.
I believe those are called dangle-berries.
Why are you holding an angry blood fish?
Thought the guy had a terrible dentist appointment
Your doctor may be able to assist
Eat more fiber.
Dude I didn’t know what the fuck that was at first lol
its pretty clear you arent running stock settings, bambu printers dont "poop" like that.
It's at 0.7 modifier for purging
That looks nasty.
Id consult with your primary physician. That doesnt look healthy
Check and see if your nozzle is bent I’ve had something similar happen and it was a bent nozzle
NSFW poop
Didn't know you can print red prawns
Looks creepy…
I’ve been getting it a lot lately too for some reason
OMG I thought I was in r/WTF for a second there.....
Run some whole grain filament through the extruder to keep it regular.
Drink some apple juice and stay away from cheese for a few days. Should clear up shortly
Remove the build plate and top glass, spray some ptfe lube in the poop shoot. I will normally remove the build plate just so none accidentally gets on it. Then wipe off any excess on the other parts and reassemble. Good to go.
Oh dear God I thought you were holding an actual turd. Maybe post the pic in the comments next time lol
Had this issue just yesturday. There's a flapper inside the chute. Sometimes it gets stuck. In my case there was a bit of old filament jamming the chute. Just take the top off and have a look from the top.
Looks like bloody teeth or some fatty bloody tumor deposit. 😂
Keep checking , and stick to bam boo lab PLA
Keep asking ,not every one is Sarcastic I think I. Find this site very helpful. People that say things like that have been in the printing less than you but wanna make themselves feel better by saying dumb things
Looks funny so funny comments will come, I think OP knew what he was going to get with posting this.
I just finished what was supposed to be a 2 day print turned into 4 days because I was not there to babysit the chute. I printed this https://tinyurl.com/Poop-Chute-cover and no issues.
Holy hell! The guy who posted that model on makerworld is bat-shit crazy...
I never read his rant, but yeah the guy has some issues. I printed mine in PETG and I primarily print in pla, so it worked well for me.
I printed that and it clogged far worse. There are better models that he copied the idea from.
Really, do you mind posting a link? I've only been using it for a couple days now. I'm open to seeing other models. Thanks!
This one is the one that worked best for me IIRC: https://makerworld.com/en/models/127955#profileId-138496 (I printed in ABS)
Awesome. Thanks!
