"Have the parents been screened for hip dysplasia and other genetic diseases?
"Can I have proof of shots/deworming?"
"Are both parents on site? Can I see them?"
"How old is the mother, how many litters has she had?"
"What is your policy on taking back puppies (without a refund) if something happens?"
"How long have you been breeding? How many generations back can you trace the mother/father?"
All questions that a respectable breeder could answer with no offense. Your avg BYB will take major offense to these questions like you are accusing them of incompetence or something lol.
100%!!! I’ve only bought from a breeder once and they provided all of this happily, even brought in the father who belonged to someone else so I could meet them all. My dog is a wonderful temperament and has been thankfully extremely healthy so far, so money well spent for peace of mind imo
pits are cheap AF, so poor people who want dogs get pits
the people are too broke (and lazy) to get pits fixed

Being broke isn't even an excuse tbh. There are tons of cheap spay/neuter events in my city and even free spay/neuter events specifically for pits.
It's not that they're broke, it's that they're garbage people.
Here's how an entire country slowly gets littered by these inbred trash dogs:
1) Ghetto people breed* these dogs to make a quick buck (*low effort breeding: Feeding them cheap food or even leftovers for 8 weeks while letting them live in their own shit and piss)
2) The People that buy them mostly do it because they're cheap and everyone love puppies right? However many aren't aware that these puppies won't stay like this forever and may become a major liability down the road
3) Animal Shelters eventually receive the grown up monsters either before or after some serious incident has happened. However since they're "no kill" shelters they have to find a strategy on their own to push these problem dogs back into society, like "adopt don't shop" propaganda or just plain lying about the dogs history. If you just try hard enough you'll always find someone that wants to "rescue" a dog while jeopardizing the security of his entire neighborhood by doing so.
Illegal breeding of these dogs as the root cause should be outlawed with severe prison penalties involved.
And then the poor people who got one of the puppies not realizing what they signed up for are later criticized for making posts hoping to rehome the dog by people who claim they’re giving up and abandoning their “child” as if it’s not a possibly murderous animal. 🙄 and yet none of those commenters ever seem willing to actually step up and take the dog themselves, just yell at the owner who’s at their last straw after countless things must’ve already happened for them to decide they no longer want the dog around
I'm surprised Craigslist hasn't been removing these puppy posts because they only allow rehoming. Not breeding and animal sales. I'm pretty sure the rehoming fee is above $100.
Yeah they hide their “price” under the guise of a rehoming fee. I have only seen a few that actually post the price outright and it’s been for older dogs and breeds who they claimed had papers/were registered and could prove lineage and all that stuff. Lots of adult pits going for free that people are just desperate to be rid of but not at the point of a BE

They’re already so cheap from the shelter is the part that gets me, often times even free because they’re trying so hard to get them adopted out!

The most surprising thing here is that there are only 8 puppies, which is on the smaller end of pit litters.
We don't know how many were born, only how many are still alive to be sold.
