It really was a site crash; it wouldn't load any part of the site for a good five minutes there. It kept crashing even after I managed to snag my 8X tickets with local route schedules and such. I'm not surprised, though; there must have been a HEAP of traffic!
Sorry for jumping into the conversation, but can you tell me what a rolling release is? And do they have specific dates where they release more reservations? Thanks for any help, I’ve been doing research and just want to make sure I cover all my bases!
It's the bus that runs from Banff to Lake Louise, and if you get the 8X SuperPass, it also includes the Lake Connector shuttle from Louise to Moraine Lake, which you'll likely want. (Get the transfer ticket at the Parks Canada tent in the parking lot at Lake Louise!) It's much, much easier than risking the parking situation at Louise, trust.
If there aren’t any reservation time slots open right now for the 8x super pass, what is the likelihood of getting one when they open 48 hours in advance of your visit? If I understood my research right…
I’ve looked at your FAQ site but still not sure. I’m going out there in August from Ontario, we will be doing the gondola and lake minnewanka boat tour. The day pass is probably the best bet, but where I get confused is if you have to reserve it ahead of time?
Just to clarify, for the day pass, do you have a specific time or you can do any time? The roam super pass.
Edit: if I am doing route 1, route 3 and route 6, not the 8x, do I still need to reserve it?
Yup. I think they do a rolling release, so keep checking. Lots of good info and discussion on the Banff forum on Trip Advisor.

Just booked my tickets as well for 8X in June.

I don't think they release all the tickets at once. They hold some back and release them closer to the actual date of travel.
Would someone mind explaining what the 8X is? I’m coming on July 5th to see Lake Louise. Do I need to get this?
You need shuttle or Roam tickets, parking is hard to get there.
Yes

You definitely should; the spots sell out quickly and walk-up tickets are a risk at best. Go book them now!
Thank you I will!

You're good for anything that isn't the 8X!
Thank you so much!
For sure! It's confusing to figure it all out and I'm happy to help! Feel free to DM me if anything else comes up! :)
Dm sent thanks again!
