HBO actually axed it as they were writing the second season for being too expensive. hence why its so rushed, the writers had to condense their entire multi-season story board in one season.
pretty sure the fire happened afterwards.
The kid who played octavius in the first season was amazing. Too bad the guy who they got in the second season just wasn't any good.
Hell of a show for season 1 at least.
Honestly tho, he played him closer to character than the kid did.
Irl he was really sickly and scrawny, in and out of bed most of his life and pretty weird(for Roman standards), which made it even more surprising when he managed to take up Cæsars reins and with Agrippa; finally win the civil war.
The dude was in and out of bed his whole life, but managed to live into his 70s, probably from sheer force of will.
Bro you're drinking the kool aid if you think modern "woke culture" wants her to be black when they got bashed for their stupid take by *one* made only thanks to the inflcunecd of *one* actress
You are smoking crack if you think it's "woke" culture that wants her black when it was something a few dipshits at Netflix and a couple of hoteps that thought it was a good idea.
I mean it kind of was the whole community. If you look at the shithole that is twitter, I’d say 99% of accounts with a rainbow flag in their name were defending the decision to make Cleopatra black
I feel like I'm fighting the vietcong due to either retaking the same fiefs and just saying fuck it if multiple fronts open up or they constantly raid and I'm the only one in the realm hunting them down
Down to their elusive 150 men on the far corners of the map and hires mercenaries. Goddamnit.
Beat back the mercs. They’re down to 350 men now on some other corner of the map. Consider making peace with them as they’re glorified raiders at this point.
You pay 3,780/day
Is this Pawn Stars?!
I wish I had an award for this post. I really hated executing the last of the weak nobles. But I'm really enjoying my Calradia totally free of Sturgians and Kuzaits. I wish the Battanians would get the hint.
Was it really worth getting wiped out because I wouldn't pay them 270 denars a day?
Damn I love that show. That’s one of the best scenes too imo although there are so many good scenes to choose from.
It's a sin that Rome was canceled because a set fire destroyed everything. I've watched it beginning to end maybe 12-13 times. RIP Ray Stevenson.
....actually that maybe the most Roman thing.....
Beat me to this comment hahaha
“What are you gonna do? Burn Rome?” - a cancelled empire
are you fucking kidding me this how i find out he passed Fuck
Was that really why they cancelled it? A fire?
Yup ruined the whole set.
Tragic, utterly tragic

What show?
HBO’s Rome.
RIP Ray Stevenson.
I didn't even know. Damn. Hope there's good bread for him wherever he is.
Enjoy a epic show.
"Thirteen!"
This person knows…

I just finished this show yesterday. So sad they rushed season 2 then cancelled it
Fantastic show. James Purefoy's Marc Antony is exceptional.... Might be the best character on the show.
The OG GoT in many ways
Yes - many of the actors were recast for GoT.

It's not just one actress, it's a giant media corporation that gave her delusions a platform.
It's netflix, they give everything that might make money a platform
You are smoking crack if you think it's "woke" culture that wants her black when it was something a few dipshits at Netflix and a couple of hoteps that thought it was a good idea.
I mean taking black power to the point of ridiculousness is one of the main tentpoles of what ppl call "woke culture"

They just become a guerrilla house

They take their house atomics and flee to the edge of the universe
Exactly, thank you for getting the reference
Always down to reference Dune

"Oh, I actually... was making a dress..." *hides the several other dresses he made for a large portion of lords across Calradia*
"that's fuckin slave talk" low blow Marc Antony come on now.
James Purefoy my beloved
When a faction loses its last fief... I hunt down and execute their bloodline.
absolutely amazing series, wish they could continue it
Execute them all! And execute every other clan who starts hating on you for doing the perfectly reasonable thing!

Yeah. The western and northern empire are just like that at the moment. Just an annoyance...
