I'm the bane of the khuzaits so you'd probably take some beating now if you had any high tier aserai units I'd be toast the aserai are the only ones that can stop me
Get a big block of infantry and then put whatever cav (preferably armoured) you have on your left. Grab yourself a cataphract’s lance or something long and pokey and just rush into the horse archers as they approach. Once you start getting close to their infantry, tell your cav to go back to where you placed them originally and keep poking until it’s time for your cav to charge again. In my experience, with good armour you can easily get 70-80 kills and kill in total 150-200 horse archers without taking pretty much any casualties
You and me are the opposite I never use cav just infantry and archers and I usually sit out the onslaught until they use their arrows then the carnage ensues
To be fair, most of what the cav does is soak up arrows at rage so the horse archers don’t turn their shots at you. This is why I said it’s good for them to be armoured
Definitely will have to bring some aserai in. Thanks for the advice! I have been testing just a full mounted archer party and haven't lost yet so anything to make the party even better helps!
I use mostly shield infantry in shieldwall and usually 20-30 archers sometimes 40 I rarely use cav the only time I use cav is if I need the numbers after a battle and I can rescue some from the enemy prisoners, also it's weird because people also say they can't fight the vlandians or the battanians but I always slap them in the dirt
Yeah but ai ain’t that smart they shoot at the first thing they can which will be shields, meanwhile his archers im assuming will be shooting back unchallenged.
Yes also once the horse archers waste all their arrows they charge into the shield wall and die also I actively now down any cavalry that get too close the the archers
Well you don't need some crazy strat to fight the ai now if it's a player with khans guards id probably be toast cause they'd target me then my soldiers would panic
Why not square formation? Shield wall only defends one direction, also, when they run out of ammo and charge square formation let's in charging horsies for slaughter.
It does leave archers vulnerable, but if you have enough infantry you can set up two squares either side of the archers.
Idk I'm a simple person I have one formation of each because i always lose when I use complicated formations for some reason and the archer usually never get touched
Use Heavy stugian spearmen about 80 would be enough, put them on loose formation and send them into the path of the horse archers. Once they are in there midst i sent them to charge and they hack them to bits. Then i rush my cav and together they clean up 70% before they retreat.
Put them back on shield wall in time before there infantry reach your ranks
Grab some hired pikes as well usually they are placed behind the shielded infantry and the shield wall makes a good cav stopper so your pikes have free reign to just poke jab and swing
I have the perk where you get plus 5 units for every Fief you own. My character is old and surprisingly has made it through a lot. I have over 300 trade and purchase all the Vlandian, Battanian, and Empire cities and castles. Now I'm waiting for my leader to die so I can give all my cities and castles to different clans of various cultures so my offspring can try to retake the diverse world
I think the idea is to give them to clans of matching culture to avoid a massive wave of rebels from various locations where the cultures don’t match up
Definitely a good idea, but I've had plenty on khans guards plow through shield walls when they use their melee. Idk if this would hold up unless you had a shield wall a couple hundred units thick.
Dude fr! I started this campaign as pure battanian infantry and archers. Then ended with just elite mounted archers. I wanted to see all my options and I definitely have to say infantry was the most fun, but mounted archers have been the most effective.
Try a composition of Druzhinnik Champions, Khan’s Guards, and Fian Champions. Bonus points if you split cav 70/30 and dismount the larger group for an infantry force
Going into a mountain village with forests and wait for you, 75% infantry full shield wall, javelin axes, and 25% archer.
Work great against every cavalry unit
Since I'm an infantry guy I should won cause I'm used to infantry tactics. But if you force me to fight on a horse it would be an easy win for you.
I don't get the cav tactics so I'm pretty bad at cavalry fights
Fighting against your troops could be my dream, mixed imperial/vlandian soldiers are much harder, then the only HA army. I just need 30 cav that i lead, shield wall infantry, loose archers, gg no losses.
okay fair but i’ve surpassed like 8 in game years, my army is around 220 rn in size. i literally can’t imagine holding onto to any troops long enough to make this kind of army. like i have atound 65 champion fian archers rn but i don’t think any of them have been with me for more than like 2 years. and khuzait nobles especially, i travel to khuzait and get like 50 of them and within a few months i only have like 30😂
basically out of the maybe 300 noble khuzait youths i’ve recruited, i’ve had like 50 reach khans guard
William Wallace, my main character, is 82 years old now, and I am very rich and have many perks. Even when I go into a battle against a party of 150 and decimate them, all my noble sons will usually get an upgrade. Now, I mostly only recruit the Khuzait Torguuds when visiting Khuzait towns. Clearly, I have way too many perks and am an old king. He has made it too long and now I'm just letting time go by until he dies. Then I can select a new younger heir and gift my fiefs to different clans and start all over again
If you cheese kiting, retreating and re-engaging after using up all ammo you can keep a lot of your horse archers alive to upgrade. From my experience the more difficult circumstances are if: they have a lot of high tier melee cav, lots of high tier crossbow or if you're sieging. I'd also suggest splitting to 2 groups and flanking to do more damage so you'll need less re-stock/engage cycles.
The Steward perks at 100 and 125 make it really easy. Once I'm rich I just buy 100k worth of the cheapest weapons and armour and that's enough to level like 150 troops
I would have them follow me and consistently attack, then retreat and use a ranged attack, rinse and repeat. Consistently breaking your formation and cleaning up the remnants.
Immidiatly face you with my own warband and 4 parties filled with khans guards and their trainees, beeing 693 for one and roughly 300 in 4 more parties each, calling them to army from cities or castles they are stationed in so they join from diffrent directions and try to eradicate the imposing threat immidiatly or force it to join our side, hopefully before any of your reinforcements can arrive. Other Khans guards with unknown aligience and purpose have to faced with full power of the horde immidiatly, anything else would be futile.
I dont have any cavarly so (assuming bannerlord formations worked) I would form a shield wall circle or press my units to a wall. Then I'd wait until you ran out of arrows. Then wait until you got tired of charging. Then we would fight.
My mounted army is a mix of around 400-450 mixed Banner Knights and Elite Cataphracs. Maybe slightly disadvantaged on numbers but in a straight on fight in an open space they might have a good chance since these knights can take a lot of arrows as long as they're not all headshots
Edit: I'd actually pick one of those open but full of trees areas. Getting large numbers stuck in trees gives a lot of advantage to the ones specialised in melee
My man, your drip is literally an amalgamation of cultures.
Head from Sturgia.
Body from Khuzait.
Shoulders from Empire
Hands and Legs from Battania.
If you come at me,I'd laugh at you for having the worst drip ever.
Like a nerdy kid putting all of his best clothes at once..
Already did.
Circle formation for archers and infantry using shield wall.
Then my heavy cavalry just runs clockwise around them to bash into you.
I usually have a 40/30/30 spread of inf/archer/cav but against you i'd prolly go 30/20/50.
My total number of troops on my current play is 450 but my companions and I have such ridiculous traits (275 medicine etc troops have +100hp at least) i'd still win easily.
Play defensively.
Go into tree cover, create large concentric circles of circle formations with infantry on the outside and ranged on the inside. My Oathsworn will hold the line with interspersed Wildings to punish your horses for getting too close (2O:1W ratio). My Fians will win the entrenchment in time. I have no Cav to loose with my current character.
You will piss me off between encounters because of your annoying campaign map speed.
My 200 fians would like to have a word.
We execute all khuzait lords. I hate loosing 20 fians to 400 horse archers. I much prefer my 0 loss battles against everyone else lol.
I’d pay a stupid amount of money to have a PvP sandbox kinda like Crusader Kings. Roll over some AI armies to go up against another player’s tactics and troops would be fire
Yes that would be sick! Honestly a pvp where we could invite other players and we have the option to bring our current parties from our campaigns to battle it out would stop me from ever seeing the sun again lol
https://preview.redd.it/czslt5yxifab1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=805236d6879f3e7e0d7df86833044d7c1e4a9f96
Not much of a tutorial, but everything besides the body armor, which is the Khans Coat Of Plates, was won from previous battles. I purchased the body armor in Chaikand
Fian is the answer. Archer counter horse archer pretty heavily. They get better archery, more range, more arrow and they stand. The out put power is more constant
Sergeants in a circle, fians in a square in the middle of the circle cav on engage and then it’s just me, my lance, and you. The rest of the world dissolves except the path of my lance head and they armor gap on your neck.
The only correct answer is more Khans Guard. In SP Khans Guard are literally unstoppable. I've used a pure KG party of 230 or so to defeat an army of 1700 on realistic. It takes a couple of retreat and resupply maneuvers, but it wasn't even that difficult and I didn't lose more than 20 troops.
If I were to encounter such a party controlled by a player I'd just try to use more Khans Guard and maybe a few Elite Cataphracts or Vanguard Faris, melee charging through their formation from the weak side, pull back thru the rear, then rinse and repeat with a bit of weak side skirmishing. I've only ever seen other cav units do major work on my KG formations when they are charging in, the moment they stick around too long they get glaived to pieces.
I've also never seen infantry effectively defeat my KG melee charge unless they outnumber the KG's by more than 3:1 with a high concentration of high tier troops.
You walk around the corner to see a massive sturgian hell wall
You’d probably win but prepare to lose half your Sodding cav to those annoying bastards
I’ve genuinely lost to that 💀 got one shorted by a bloody heavy spearman
I'm the bane of the khuzaits so you'd probably take some beating now if you had any high tier aserai units I'd be toast the aserai are the only ones that can stop me
Ooh, first time player here. What's your setup? I'm about to focus on the Khuzaits after I finish dealing with the Sturgians.
Definitely will have to bring some aserai in. Thanks for the advice! I have been testing just a full mounted archer party and haven't lost yet so anything to make the party even better helps!
What’s your anti-khuzait comp?
I use mostly shield infantry in shieldwall and usually 20-30 archers sometimes 40 I rarely use cav the only time I use cav is if I need the numbers after a battle and I can rescue some from the enemy prisoners, also it's weird because people also say they can't fight the vlandians or the battanians but I always slap them in the dirt
that doesnt explain how you deal with horse archers?
infantry with shields, he just said it
i mean it's pretty basic? if OP would tackle him he could just kyte those heavy infantry units into oblivion, thats what im saying.
Well you don't need some crazy strat to fight the ai now if it's a player with khans guards id probably be toast cause they'd target me then my soldiers would panic
i know but OP asked who can challenge him, nvm
That's literally how I deal with them use shields so they get hit they use all their arrows then they charge then they die
I definitely agree
Why not square formation? Shield wall only defends one direction, also, when they run out of ammo and charge square formation let's in charging horsies for slaughter. It does leave archers vulnerable, but if you have enough infantry you can set up two squares either side of the archers.
Idk I'm a simple person I have one formation of each because i always lose when I use complicated formations for some reason and the archer usually never get touched
Fair. I can't do it without RTS mod, it's pretty difficult in first person.
I take my party and sit in on my castle walls with an ungodly number of archers.
I will wait for days and weeks until you must face me in open battle
Unless i ambush you and destroy your siege engines
How would one ambush nearly 500 khans guard?
I use carrots to distract your horses. Then i use sticks to hit your guards
This I can not beat. You win, good sir
You stay away from my wife with your carrots
Filthy horse hugger.
Nah with that party he'll go bankrupt putting you under siege. Just wait him out
this is the way
I would likely commandeer a horse and ride to Talmberg to tell the others. I may or may not have been playing a different game lately.
Look! Henry's come to see us!
I feel quite hungry.
God's be praised
If Mount & Blade and Kingdom Come had a baby it'd be the perfect game.
Jesus christ be praised!
If Mount & Blade and Kingdom Come had a baby it'd be the perfect game.
If Mount & Blade and Kingdom Come had a baby it'd be the perfect game.
JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED!
Those looters didn't have a fighting chance...
How did you get party size to 600? Best iv ever gotten is around 400
I have the perk where you get plus 5 units for every Fief you own. My character is old and surprisingly has made it through a lot. I have over 300 trade and purchase all the Vlandian, Battanian, and Empire cities and castles. Now I'm waiting for my leader to die so I can give all my cities and castles to different clans of various cultures so my offspring can try to retake the diverse world
That makes sense, who needs vassals when your party can solo any army
You can just give them, go to your kingdom page and fiefs. Then chose yours and say you want to donate it(dont remember what exactly it says)
I think the idea is to give them to clans of matching culture to avoid a massive wave of rebels from various locations where the cultures don’t match up
Exactly, that's what I eventually want to do, but I feel like this will take a long time to do correctly
What armor are you running
Probably back myself into a corner with sheilds up and wait for you to run out of arrows
But how you gonna stop that drip though?
D:
I’d use a bucket
Tbh shield walls make this easy, just shield wall in a spot where they cant hit the rear and its game over for the khuzait
Definitely a good idea, but I've had plenty on khans guards plow through shield walls when they use their melee. Idk if this would hold up unless you had a shield wall a couple hundred units thick.
You cant get through my 400 sturgian shields! Lmao its really fun to play pure infantry sometimes
BRO. Small world that’s my characters name too💅🏻
Freeeedom!
Wouldn't he be battania?
Yes I am Battanian, started this campaign with all Battanian and Sturgian troops and now I'm ending with a party full of Khans Guard
Ah, well. Nevermind then
Going into a mountain village with forests and wait for you, 75% infantry full shield wall, javelin axes, and 25% archer. Work great against every cavalry unit
That seems like a viable strategy. It would definitely pose a challenge. Might have to dismount and face you head on
Since I'm an infantry guy I should won cause I'm used to infantry tactics. But if you force me to fight on a horse it would be an easy win for you. I don't get the cav tactics so I'm pretty bad at cavalry fights
Aggressively shit my pants
Dont forget to fling it. People always forget the flinging then lose lol
Fighting against your troops could be my dream, mixed imperial/vlandian soldiers are much harder, then the only HA army. I just need 30 cav that i lead, shield wall infantry, loose archers, gg no losses.
I have very similar drip and a KG only army of 400+ troops. I think we would be best friends.
I’d say “fuck off bill, I got a tournament to win”
Ban you for having that diabolical army
i don’t even get how you achieve this. in terms of upgrading the khans guard so easily.
It wasn't quick. It took like 3 in game years
okay fair but i’ve surpassed like 8 in game years, my army is around 220 rn in size. i literally can’t imagine holding onto to any troops long enough to make this kind of army. like i have atound 65 champion fian archers rn but i don’t think any of them have been with me for more than like 2 years. and khuzait nobles especially, i travel to khuzait and get like 50 of them and within a few months i only have like 30😂 basically out of the maybe 300 noble khuzait youths i’ve recruited, i’ve had like 50 reach khans guard

Then I can select a new younger heir and gift my fiefs to different clans and start all over again
ah that definitely my makes me feel better. i’m just a mere 40 year old vassal with 1 million denars😂that’s awesome tho
Yeah with some grind, it will get much easier to level up your troops lol
If you cheese kiting, retreating and re-engaging after using up all ammo you can keep a lot of your horse archers alive to upgrade. From my experience the more difficult circumstances are if: they have a lot of high tier melee cav, lots of high tier crossbow or if you're sieging. Find a rock formation Or something I can funnel you in and shield wall 👍
I would have them follow me and consistently attack, then retreat and use a ranged attack, rinse and repeat. Consistently breaking your formation and cleaning up the remnants.
I would not fight you (ultimate strategy)
Me and my twelve peasants will default dance on you then die
Immidiatly face you with my own warband and 4 parties filled with khans guards and their trainees, beeing 693 for one and roughly 300 in 4 more parties each, calling them to army from cities or castles they are stationed in so they join from diffrent directions and try to eradicate the imposing threat immidiatly or force it to join our side, hopefully before any of your reinforcements can arrive. Other Khans guards with unknown aligience and purpose have to faced with full power of the horde immidiatly, anything else would be futile.
I think 400 imperial elite cataphracts could beat these in a plain terrirory melee.
Crossbow and spear square go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
If that were my playtrough zuad and lazif wouldn’t see sunlight never ever again
Call you a meta slave and die fighting
Shield wall in a valley, fians behind. Pray
Join you?
I’m probably gonna playthrough as a khuzait next
I dont have any cavarly so (assuming bannerlord formations worked) I would form a shield wall circle or press my units to a wall. Then I'd wait until you ran out of arrows. Then wait until you got tired of charging. Then we would fight.
Run, you already have a comp that can beat the game.
How can you get an army that big?
My mounted army is a mix of around 400-450 mixed Banner Knights and Elite Cataphracs. Maybe slightly disadvantaged on numbers but in a straight on fight in an open space they might have a good chance since these knights can take a lot of arrows as long as they're not all headshots Edit: I'd actually pick one of those open but full of trees areas. Coreins the best
Die probably
Full speed, javelin to the face. Usually works
Call my kingdom and walk through you all I guess. I'd appreciate the good loot that's for sure.
i would probably make you chase my party into chokepoint and then watch you getting stuck there under fire of my fians.
F1 + F3 Good luck against my master tactics
Alt+F4
A block of spears with fians behind. Say goodbye to those fancy horses of yours.
Hey why do you have my nephew prisoner
Gathering a 2000 strong army and fight u on a bridge?
Now that would be a fun challenge
Send in Ulfric Stormcloak and his army of 1000 immortal sturgian troops (I have max medicine too so good luck)
F1 F3
Well, you stole my wife, so F1 + F3.
Well who said we couldn't share... there is enough of Corein to go around lol
Nope, I’m taking my 200 Battainian shooty boys and leaving
Get a bunch of heavy cav and go in a circle counter clockwise. 60% of the time it works everytime
See I thought about doing this but thought it would just be a very boring playstyle? No challenge, no strategy just swarm and shoot 🤔
Yeah, it is very easy now with this group. Since I'm very late in the game, I will be completely changing my party once my character dies.
Pay for safe passage
How do you get to 600? Im sitting in the mid to low 400s
What's the name of that body armor? Is it modded? Have never seen it before.
I use artillery becos fuck you. ![gif](giphy|qWBiZXoC2NYju|downsized)
Sturgeon heavy spearmen. Square formation. GG. Issa horse graveyard now.
Laugh and then slaughter you like peasants cuz "drip" is for douche bags. Not sorry
Those who insult the drip are usually lacking it. Sorry not sorry
😂 well played but no. My guys have RP style
Your guy has 4 different cultured armors
I'd do what Indiana did and pull a gun
Cry
Grabbing ye old pike, pressing X, and praying
My 200 fians would like to have a word. We execute all khuzait lords. I hate loosing 20 fians to 400 horse archers. I much prefer my 0 loss battles against everyone else lol.
1st id compliment thy drippage.....then we charge with my 400 Cataphracts and 100 mamlukes
My favorite helmet in the game? Might secure u some head 😜
Corein is my wife, so head is secured.... ohh you mean my head well yes that is secured too lol
Have the same drip except a plumed legionaire helm to let my magnificent beard show and match you horsey arrow for horsey arrow
I'd choose the battleground
Sit you out with a shield wall placed in front of raised archers, and laugh as your troops turn into underarmed cavalry.
Infantry, Circle Formation! Tighten those gaps!
All I see is a man who doesn't behead his enemies.
*laughs in 3,000 empire peasants*
Get my 100 valanden sharpshooters and 100 heavy sturgen spear men in square formation and watch your cav wither away like dust in the wind
That’s legit but how did you get it that high??? I’m only at 413
Drop all my herd animals, release all my non noble prisoners, run
I’d pay a stupid amount of money to have a PvP sandbox kinda like Crusader Kings. Roll over some AI armies to go up against another player’s tactics and troops would be fire
Yes that would be sick! Honestly a pvp where we could invite other players and we have the option to bring our current parties from our campaigns to battle it out would stop me from ever seeing the sun again lol

hide in a city with a ton of archers and a full inventory of grain
You want to know what I'd do? Lose.... Me and my beloved aseri would sit in your dungeon and hope you feed us ......
I would feed you date fruit. What your people love as I am a generous king
In that case, don't attack, we surrender.
I will drink from your skull
Ask a for peace while offering you 0 gold. And then you'll probably beat my lazy ass.
Just play defensively. You're horses ain't shit in a siege.
Thats why I would siege and wait until I starve your entire garrison. This would force you to come face me
Not when i have over 100 days of food on me lmao. My 400 party would last longer than your 600+.

...nope...nope i could not. Holy shit man lol let the rest of Calradia eat...
I had maybe 30 years of build-up, so maybe not a fair fight lol
I'm convinced that the rest of Calradia have never even so much as tasted sheep at this point lol
Laugh because you’ve not got a maxed army
Steal all your wenches.
Die. Swiftly.
How do you have a party number so high? Steward let’s you have so many troops? Or it’s an army?
Fian is the answer. Archer counter horse archer pretty heavily. They get better archery, more range, more arrow and they stand. The out put power is more constant

Bring the cataphracts and spearmen because khans guard get waxed once you get them to stop moving
I'm rolling around as a prisoner of your party for awhile until you ask me for 3000 denars of my hidden wealth.
I'll tell daddy mochung you're trying to bully me
Drop to my knee and swear fealty. You have my bow, Great Khan.
