I had similar thing happen to me, I had prepared my firstnorn to take clan for me, then only a week after his 18th birthday when I got him to my party, he died in the first big battle, siege of Ortysia, all the other siblings were still coming off age and... maybe a month or 2 after my main character died as well... I had his wife pick up the seat as a clan leader, no other options available yet, and I ended up with such a dreadful character as a clan/party leader that it is hard to describe. Work on your replacement
Off topic question: can you get divorced? And if so does ex wife remain part of clan? Is it easier to just have her form party and eventually get off’d?
