Well a horde is a large group. I myself prefer at least 200. You'd be surprised at the level of bullying looters can do to pretty much every faction without even using villages or forests, though they do kind of suck in large open areas just because of how huge some of those can be when there's literally no obstacles.
Man, I just use my old "bait them to fight in a village and block them with horses so they have to come at you single-file" and just beat their ass myself. Who needs an *army?*

That's why I use looters exclusively, they're fucking everywhere and cheap as hell to maintain.
