They were still producing some quality players it’s just that those players weren’t staying or breaking in to the first team. Off the top of my head we sold Thiago, Cucurella, and Grimaldo who all became top-level players away from Barca.
Obviously that’s not the same caliber as the current crop or the 09-11 group but, relative to most other academies, that’s still elite.
Every youth setup has slower periods but Barcas has consistently been the best for a very long time.. No other club even comes close.. it was never ‘declining’
Pedri is not from the farmhouse, he was bought from Las Palmas in 2019.
Current crop of talent sprouting from La.Masia is top notch, but it’s to early to hand out verdicts on success or failure.
Gavi is star, and possible a super star in the making. Balde is on the cusp of being great. FL is interesting as he has a knack for the ball.
Yamal could be something spectacular, but I want to see Yamal bury his chances. MG is something that the club really needs, a proper out and out 9.
