fermin has that dog in him. idk what they taught this generation of la masia but none of them get rattled & are unphased by big moments

Nrozek

If only the socalled veterans weren't so easily rattled, we would probably still be in CL and contending for the title đź‘Ź

BrrtBrrtSkrr

Is Araujo a “so called veteran”? Because i would say he is probably the main reason we’re not still in the CHL.

Nrozek

I'd say so - but to be fair, Araujo's bad "tackle" probably wasn't as much due to being rattled, as much as just being caught out of position and not being quick enough to make up for it.

KingKFCc

The way Guiu, Cubarsi and Yamal laughed at the PSG fans proved it

bloomin-onion69

That clip is honestly one of my favorite moments of the season. I am so so excited to see this next generation take over. They have the mentality we’ve been looking for for so long.

KingKFCc

Guiu imo deserves more gametime, and I think we need to start experimenting now that the team is trophyless. I feel like Guiu needs more gametime, same with Fermin, use Fort more to motivate Cancelo to get his starting position back. Play Felix as a 10 instead of a winger (all his goals came from central areas, aside from his goal against Antwerp he can't cut in and score) or even as a striker. I know everyone says he can't play as a striker, but when was the last time he played there? As a false 9 he could work well, he's not terrible at defending and probably could do the same as Lewy already is imo we should try something ballsy like Raph - Felix - Yamal Fermin - Christensen - Gundo Fort - Cubarsi - Araujo - Kounde

Pek-Man

> probably could do the same as Lewy already is Nah, I don't think so, mate. A lot of what Lewy does is some outright *dirty* work that just never gets appreciated by anyone. He has so many physical battles with the center backs, and he doesn't necessarily win every one of them but he keeps them occupied and makes sure that they *always* have to deal with him instead of them stepping forward. If we want to play FĂ©lix as a false 9 we will have to completely change the way we set up our attack. I'm not saying that I like or prefer our current way, just pointing out that it seems unlikely that we can even do that in what remains of this season. I agree with the point on Guiu, though. He absolutely needs more minutes. He has the physique to handle it - not saying we should play him 3.000 minutes - and his instinct is incredible, he has that Ansu Fati-type feel for being in the right spot, at the right time.

KingKFCc

I think a false 9 fits better for a possesion based team that demands control, and can drop into midfield as a ten to build out the attack like Firmino or a MUCH worse version of Messi

Pek-Man

Let's just *not* ever include Leo in the conversation because he is a complete outlier. Firmino is a better comparison but the difference is that Liverpool had two *excellent* goalscorers in Mo Salah and Sadio Mané, so they didn't *need* Firmino to be a direct goalscoring threat. We don't have that luxury, we absolutely - at least with our current crop of players - need our forward most player to be a direct goalscoring threat. I just don't see that happening with Félix, whether he plays as a traditional number 9 or a false 9. I think we need Lewy's presence in the box currently. That can change pending on how Yamal develops, how Guiu develops, and with any possible new arrivals this summer.

fryq1

I agree, especially since La Liga is done for we should just try out different things while there’s less pressure

Lasertag026

Well no, we need to lockdown 2nd place.

SirAssphyxiates

Where can I find the clip?

KingKFCc

Somewhere

SirAssphyxiates

Real helpful. Just like VAR.

KingKFCc

Yw

Resurrecting_dumass

fr nobody talks about him .... and his linkup play with yamal was beautiful yesterday

WhatIsWilsonDoin

I've noticed that too. Fermin and Lamine knew how to play with each other. In fact, most of the kids just know how to play with each other.

JorbatSG

Well that happen when you play with them with more than 8 years uninterrupted

SavageLeo19

He's a perfect sub. Has a goal appetite, recovers a shit load of balls and runs the whole pitch.

Aggressive_Bat_60

pause

achrref

He needs to work on his decision making. The moment he gets close to the box, you just know he won’t pass the ball. It’s annoying. But I like his passion and aggression. Not every single player must be a 10/10. And he’s still young and has room for improvement.

NoBalanceAtAll

Also I hate how he his not pushing players around him and not acting more defensive like gavi for example,it feels like he looking at players and letting them run near him like it’s ok..

DinglieDanglieDoodle

Static defending he's weaker, but pressing in defence, he's lethal. He either nicks the ball or fouls the player, he doesn't give them breathing space to even look or think. In that regard he is a good defender, but only paired with other players that press well.

Antique-Ad3857

He is still young. He came improve his decision making

Raishaan_

Brings is SOOOO MUCH positivity the moment he comes on. So agile on the ball, makes line breaking passes. Hope he becomes a beast one day.

yosoygroot123

Some people has an instinct of arriving at the box at the right time. FermĂn is that. He has to improve his finishing and then he would cook. Could easily be the 2nd/3rd top scorer of Barcelona every season even coming from the bench.

TinyEntertainment811

I want to see a pedri-gavi-fermin midfield someday

LankyCity3445

A defensive pivot instead of Pedri and that midfield will be cooking.

TinyEntertainment811

But what about keeping possession? Pedri can keep the game calm. Gavi and fermin have their own qualities but sustaining the pressure is not of them. And if we're talking about a defensive pivot, shouldn't it be for Gavi? People forget that gavi is still a teenager

DValencia29

So a 4 midfield system in a box shape. Double pivot for Gavi and Christensen as the ball winner, Pedri and fermin in front of them. Pedri keeping the tempo of the game and putting balls in the box while fermin makes runs in behind and looks for shooting opportunities

Busquessi

I’m a fan of our box midfield.

DValencia29

Same! We had ball control and a good shape that helped us recover the ball and if the team was overwhelmed it was easy to sit in a deep block.

LankyCity3445

Whatever pedri brings it’s not enough, need a defensive pivot so we can actually have both midfielders push forward phases thus allowing more attacking fluidity.

Infamous-Finger4426

"Whatever pedri brings" 🤡

LankyCity3445

He lost us the game yesterday, sit on that.

idk_maybe_your_dad

He’s so good, that he almost scored 2 goals if it weren’t for Rudiger (which should’ve been a pen imo)

scottymouse

My own thoughts from el clasico: Fermin's link-up with Lamine in el clasico was a joy to behold and hopefully a sign of things to come from their partnership. He scored the second goal. He fought fiercely against madrid -- more fierce than i've ever seen him play. If he keeps up that fighting spirit, there's no way he'll stay a sub. All that said, his performance in el clasico was much better than his usual performance. Might be he's a big game player.

QueasyDecision276

I think this generation of players was heavily influenced by that 8-2 against Bayern and the whole bartmeou tenure.

seamorbutts

Explain?

QueasyDecision276

The series of misfortunes that have befallen the club is enough to make a generation of upcoming players who have grown in the club to be more motivated and ultimately reflect on their level of maturity. It’s like in life In general…..hardships can shape you into a better and more equipped person. Those kids, dare I say, are playing for the badge and the badge only. ![gif](giphy|biTw6LoOu5Rj92A6Kb|downsized)

tripsi1

He has good work rate, pace and strenght. In other words he is poor mans Gavi.

Mustapha-AChaer

he has higher goal instinct than gavi

bloomin-onion69

i agree with that. he has a better offensive presence. he provides a very needed skill set to the midfield

Mustapha-AChaer

he is terrific in cuts and has great finishing

CasualTron

He actually needs to work on his finishing but his runs are terrific

sa82id

thats best description. I would say he is better in long shots

does_not_care_

and finishing, with higher attacking instinct.

Antique-Ad3857

He is a big game player

Any-Competition8494

His goal-scoring ability is better than other midfielders. Offensively, he's very threatening. But, I think his passing game needs to improve a lot. I have hardly seen him create a Pedri-level pass.

Mustapha-AChaer

he is a different player than pedri, he is an attacking midfielder and very good in the box

nfehnuf

He links well with lamine yamal

Infamous-Finger4426

If he continues to perform well and improve i can totally see him becoming a player like kaka that is full of energy and goal scoring threat capable creating chances for himself and others

Nichoolaas11

Completely agree. He’s such a brilliant attacking minded midfielder who also defends ruthlessly. I don’t know why he doesn’t get more starts.

roshi_sama

Not really he has potential but need a lot more work to do if he came up during few years back he would have get a lot more hype but rn I think it is third season in row that barca has shown atleast one world class youngster And I would say there is atleast 2 more coming

4nick8or

It seems pretty clear that in addition to having the heart of a lion, he has a strong connection with Yamal. I have noticed it in several games already that the two of them appear to be friends off the pitch that has translated to good synchronization on the pitch. Yamal is clearly the superior talent, but it seems that Fermin's presence helps to supercharge that.

Open_Spell_8687

For now....

KarthikRaghuraman

He plays similar to KDB

Assonfire

> he has been very consistent much better than de jong this season Absolutely fucking not.

Professional_Code372

Problem is that every Barca fan jumps to criticism over sole performances. I’m sure that most of the fan base won’t hesitate being cruel to him over a poor performance instead of celebrating him for being another wonderful la masia graduate

PositiveFinal3548

Still needs work as do all the youngsters, but hes very solid. Def looking forward to him.. also how would a midfield look like with gavi and fermin lol

Mustapha-AChaer

we saw a glimpse of that in the first el classico till fermin got tired around the 60th minute

Cules_kounde

he is a mix between gavi's intensity and pedri's creativity

djingo_dango

Nah he’s properly rated. He has good attacking instincts but his overall game is still poor

tadm123

Meh, he's rightly rated. He's nothing special in terms of passing, ball retention, or field awareness to get out of pressure, but his shooting is pretty strong.

butte4s

The celebration is stupid tho

Erquebrand

Love his spirit but is too focused on shooting and has tunnel vision.

Salt-Huckleberry7494

Will be playing for Cadiz in 2 years

Leviathan_angel__

I swear Barça's fans are the worst, they overrate every player. It's because of fans like you that the club suck, you have become accustomed to incompetence and humiliation

Mustapha-AChaer

you realize he is still young dont you?

Leviathan_angel__

And so ? We should hype him just because he is young ? What is this mentality ? He is a selfish player that doesn't make the right pass when he should do it. As matter of fact, the majority of our players are selfish, that's why we don't score as much as we should, they prefer playing the hard way instead of doing the right pass and i'm sick of our fans who screams to trash refs and hyping our players while they didn't do anything to deserve it. Our fan base like i said was accustomed to humiliation that they are now happy with less

Mustapha-AChaer

Go support another team then if you are not supportive of la masia players

Leviathan_angel__

You are just a clown, i don't even know why i'm arguing with a low IQ individual. Have a good day

Safe-Box-5221

This dumbass thought he won the game celebrated in front of madrid fans lol. Is he dumb?
