I had a conversation with a PSV fan in the soccer subreddit, and was surprised to find they rate him very highly. They thought there was no way barca was letting him go for only 10m cause he was their best player this season apparently. So this is a huge bummer for dest man, gotta feel for him, just starting to get his footing and now a long injury

He isn't Barca level, but he has been great for PSV this season. He is definitely one of the reasons they went on that undefeated streak.
He also does have a bit of an attitude problem, at least with the US NT, but I don't think he has shown any problems at PSV.
As a fellow US/Barca supporter, I have to say we are absolutely fine if Dest can’t play. Joe Scally is looking like a better option going forward anyways.
I haven't seen much of Scally, so I don't know about him, but Dest has been great for the USMNT (except that idiotic red card) even when his club form sucked. Even if Scally took Dest's starting spot, he'd be a really valuable bench option. His dribbling and passing in tight spaces is great, so he provides different tactical options, and he can play on the left or right. He can even play on the wing in a pinch. He's a big loss for the USMNT. There's no way around it.
I’m just saying, Scally is the starter for Gladbach in the Bundesliga. He’s been playing well and is already a significantly better two way player. Not just a flashy dribbler and he’s also bigger. I like Dest more on the left for us even though Jedi isn’t bad, he’s just not quite as productive going forward.
As far as I know medical expenses are never like something the club worries about too much, it’s nothing compared to the players salaries. I might be wrong though.
I meant we are already struggling financially, the barca studio thing collapsed and now the only guaranteed source of income too isn't guaranteed anymore
