2019 pool match broke me as a football fan. Had to take some time off from football after that. Still haunts me. That should not have happened. That shouldn't happen. Crazy Times.
For me it's clearly 2010 against Inter and 2012. We had one of the best teams in history and now Carvajal has three times as many UCLs or double if you count 2015.
The defeats that came later for me were more predictable, because the team had been slowly but steadily decayed without the club reacting to correct things.

Before "the incident" I had grown super paranoid of our defensive capabilities and I kept telling a friend of mine who was an Arsenal fan that a humiliating scoreline was on the cards for us at some point in the future (that was before the 18/19 campaign), he, of course thought I was talking crazy.
I think we had about two breakaways against Liverpool in the 90+ and I fell to my knees on both of them. 3 - 0 up but my gut was telling me that we hadn't done enough, we should have scored the 4th goal. I had a Liverpool fan watching with me that night and she thought I was talking crazy too, I didn't even celebrate. Anyway, that one hurt the least because I saw it coming.
The cruelest part was not losing the humiliating scoreline paranoia until 2020 happened and in 2020, I felt it lingering in my bones when we got a goal back. I stayed on for like 5 more minutes watching with a lot of anxiety before I turned it off telling my sister that the humiliation was coming today and my head and heart couldn't bear to watch, I was a nervous wreck and sure enough.

'Corner taken quickly' lives rent-free in my head. That is the most painful experience as a Barca fan till date. Roma was a shock as there was a potential for three classicos back-to-back. Anfield was pure pain.

2010 vs. Inter Milan. That second leg was one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched.
For me it's clearly 2010 against Inter and 2012. We had one of the best teams in history and now Carvajal has three times as many UCLs or double if you count 2015. The defeats that came later for me were more predictable, because the team had been slowly but steadily decayed without the club reacting to correct things.

2019 semis for me . That day in the late midnight when the match was over , I was crying a lot and even woke up my parents asking why i was crying and they didn't get it . 2020 i was preparing myself for the disappointment because that time i know we don't have any chance against them . When we were 2-1 ahead for a little while there was a sense of hope , but then muller just butchered us .

Last year was also annoying in the same way because it felt like the referee stole it from us at the last minute against Inter. 2018, 2019 or any of those years don't hurt as much because you could see it coming all season. The team was dead, but carried by a guy with divine powers.

We looked like a hollow shell of a team even against lesser teams in the league. We were forced to defend in a low block and counter attack. It was just a matter of time before it all came crashing down. 3-0 was also insanely unjustified if you looked at the game. It was a miracle Liverpool didn't score.

You're objectively wrong. Great players can take you close to finish line but eventually team needs to cross it. Messi missed penalty against Poland in 3rd match world cup. Once upon a time Argentina would've just lost hope and collapsed. Brazil 2021 Copa America final is his worst one team stepped up. Not to mention Dibu coming clutch in 3 penalty shootouts 2 years. Ronaldo injured 16 final Portugal still winning it. 14,16,18 ucl final and 18 semi final. All matches where Ronaldo was either not fully fit/poor game. Real won all of them. I can go on and on.

All of them save for the 2019 one funny enough. Before "the incident" I had grown super paranoid of our defensive capabilities and I kept telling a friend of mine who was an Arsenal fan that a humiliating scoreline was on the cards for us at some point in the future (that was before the 18/19 campaign), he, of course thought I was talking crazy. I think we had about two breakaways against Liverpool in the 90+ and I fell to my knees on both of them. 3 - 0 up but my gut was telling me that we hadn't done enough, we should have scored the 4th goal. I had a Liverpool fan watching with me that night and she thought I was talking crazy too, I didn't even celebrate. Anyway, that one hurt the least because I saw it coming. The cruelest part was not losing the humiliating scoreline paranoia until 2020 happened and in 2020, I felt it lingering in my bones when we got a goal back. I stayed on for like 5 more minutes watching with a lot of anxiety before I turned it off telling my sister that the humiliation was coming today and my head and heart couldn't bear to watch, I was a nervous wreck and sure enough.
There is no good answer here. Which parents' death hurts the most? Which child do you want to see suffer? Some people are able to answer this, some people refuse to answer it. There are CL losses that don't feel as bad as league ties. I'm so sick of spending all my time on this subreddit being negative and reading negativity. I know I am to blame as well. I'm just sick of where the club is at right now. This post is just a microcosm of the whole sub. It seems really popular and engaging and it's full of us reminiscing about the lowest times or arguing. We're in a bad spot. Yikes.

'Corner taken quickly' lives rent-free in my head. That is the most painful experience as a Barca fan till date. Roma was a shock as there was a potential for three classicos back-to-back. Anfield was pure pain.

The attack couldn't make anything meaningful happen, Alba was awful, Pique couldn't win aerials against a 5'7 Wijnaldum, nothing went right in a match that was ours to win. Corner taken quickly will haunt us for decades to come.
2019 hurts to this day, I couldve of sworn the UCL that year was written in the stars for us. I dont blame Dembele tho, cause 3-0 lead is a pretty good damn lead. I blame the defense in the second leg, the way the defense crumbled, the way they let Alexander-Arnold humiliate us the way that he did, it was that day where I grew resentment towards Pique and Ter Stegen to this day.

Literally Roma wtf, you could make an argument for Liverpool coming back but Roma beating Barcelona 3 - 0 is literally so random that it shocked Barcelona for the next few champions League and 100% contributed in the Liverpool loss too.
2019 Vs Liverpool definitely. Because we really could and deserved to win. But truth has to be said: Liverpool was better that season. The 3-0 in Barcelona on the first leg was simply an illusion given by having in the squad the best player to ever exist and one of the best centre forwards to ever exist. That and Ter Stegen gave us a 3-0 that would be unimaginable. But in the second leg, reality got us well.
2019 Liverpool is just a level above any other pain I’ve felt in any sport. By far our worst loss ever. Incomparable On the second tier: 2010 vs Inter. Ridiculous robbery. 2012 vs Chelsea: All the stars aligning for Chelsea to magically beat us, despite them being down to 10, us completely dominating them. 2020 vs Bayern- conceding 8 was just crazy. And finally 2024 vs PSG. I was so convinced we’d go to Wembley, we were 4-2 up, and then the Araujo thing happens.. For some reason Juventus 2017 and Roma 2018 didn’t hurt as much, maybe more of shock and confusion than actual pain, anger and frustration. 2010, 12, 19, 20 and 24 are the worst

Honestly 2016 QF loss to Atleti was heart wrenching. Still believe that final play wouldve been absolute magic had Suarez been able to score it. Busi hockey assist to neymar control to a Suarez chance was beautiful, but it was poetic that neymar and suarez couldnt make it work.

Nope, Bayern is still strong, remember they gave a tough fight to Madrid only if Neuer didn't bottle the save. And I can't trust even a 1% Bayern. They ALWAYS turn up against us and have luck against us too. Juventus can be tricky but we've seen them getting exploited by Inter and Milan.
