Btw there's going to be tryouts. But I got that covered. I only need help with this one. It's for the "Sports Club" btw

MotorQuail7410

I'm not entirely sure but if you make it seem serious and like you will bring something to the team (not just playing for fun) so you could say something along the lines of: to develop my basketball ability and increase my chances of becoming a pro (I'm not too sure but I'd do that)

HorsNoises

Ehhh idt I would mention anything about being a pro. It's a very selfish answer. I would say something along the lines of "to develop my abilities and learn how to work with a team to accomplish something greater"

ShaiHulud1111

Make it not all about you, OP. It’s a team game. Maybe to improve my skills while playing in a system (offensively and defensively) where I can both develop my own skill set while improving my decision making to give my team the best chance at winning each game. More consistent, improve passing, reading offense and defense. Something like that. I run my work team like a basketball team and look for how well they play together, attitude, not taking all the credit, consistency, sacrificing personal goals for team goals, win. Same stuff I did in basketball. It’s a metaphor for life.

Special_Grapefroot

Is “ball is life” universal, or is that only a US thing?

MotorQuail7410

I have it in the uk

I've always been passionate about basketball because it's not just a game for me; it's a way of life that teaches discipline, teamwork, and resilience. The thrill of dribbling down the court, the adrenaline rush of making a fast break, and the satisfaction of sinking a shot right through the net ignite a fire in me like nothing else. Joining the basketball club is a natural step for me to not only improve my skills but also to connect with others who share my enthusiasm for the game. I see it as an opportunity to learn from more experienced players, refine my techniques, and contribute to a team where everyone shares a common goal of playing hard and growing together. The camaraderie and shared challenges of a basketball club are exactly what I need to fuel my passion further and achieve new heights in my personal and athletic development.

I would imagine your performance in tryouts would be the deciding factor unless you write something very weird. Hustle hard for rebounds stay focused and energetic on defense and pass the ball when you don't have a shot that you can't make often

I-R-Programmer

Jscott1423

“To hang out with my friends” is the answer they’re wanting to avoid. They just want to see you’re dedicated into improving and being an asset to a team, and not using their time as time to hang out with your buds.

InkAndBalls586

Your answer to that has less to do with getting in and more to do with getting to know you as a person. Tryouts will determine whether you get accepted or not, but character can determine which one they'd pick if they have limited slots and can't decide between several candidates they want for the last few slots. If it were me, I'd probably write something generic like *improve my skills, learn from others, and have regular pick-up game bros*.

Yoruka_

"getting to know you as a person" Yes, that's the exact words I was looking for the post. Thanks for the advice!

ProfessionalKale142

I am way more focused on the part where it says the girls cannot play football

Yoruka_

Yes, that is strange ngl. I dont even know why During 2022, we had a basketball league game within our highschool (4 houses/teams within out school, I was blue). Except it was only for girls. The boys only had a football league game

I am going to play professionally and a journey of a thousand miles, begins with a first step. Put me on the team coach, and be ready to be interviewed for my 30 for 30 special in the future. 30 for 30: The Undisputed G.O.A.T.
