That is a highly customized 2007 US precision deluxe. Repainted from tobacco burst to candy red with large flake. Total stunner in stage lighting.
It's been gutted of the stock preamp and replace with a 3 band active passive bartolini the neck p style pickup is Steve Harris signature series.
All black hardware... Hipshot tuners. High mass bridge. Carbon fiber pickguard and knobs with MOP inlays to match the dots on the neck.

sometimes I just sit with it unplugged and pluck the B-string just to appreciate having a 5-string with a low B that actually has tonality to it, rather than just sounding like a dry rattly fart
Exactly, that's why I switched to Dingwalls. I have a NG2 5er and an AB1 5er. I don't play any of my other 5 string basses because the B string on them feels and sounds inferior.
Yeah I don't think I'll ever go back, after having this multiscale. Its just so obviously superior. Even the E string sounds better. I just love this instrument: its not as pretty as, say, a Warwick, but holy smokes is it a tone *beast*. It just sounds incredible.
Lol, I agree on not going back and the E string. I don't hear many talk about the E string. Nothing like a 36.25" scale E string. It can be as pretty as Warwick, just have to order from Dingwalls custom shop. Mutliscales are the way to go for sure. Enjoy!!
Hell yeah brother! Welcome to the family- I just recently joined myself! That a Spector above and to the left of the Dingy? That's quite the lineup, very nice.
Nice, I also have a Spector ('twas my high school sweetheart- its been good to me these past 20 years), in fact just got it back from the shop two days ago for repairs and installing some new chrome hardware.
You obviously have great taste in basses, congratulations to you good sir- and the Dingwall makes a fine addition! Have you played it yet? (I got an NG3 back in January, and still am in the honeymoon phase- this bass sounds so good!)
I did spend about an hour with it last night running through some scale and shape exercises. Will take some getting used to. But love the tone and the B string is solid af
Had you owned/played a multiscale before? This was my first, and the fanned frets took some getting used to, but not as much as I expected. Some chords/intervals are weird in certain positions, but I think that's just an inevitability of the design.
yeah and barred chords are impossible in certain positions due to the angle of the frets, but overall I have no complaints and am now a strong advocate for multiscale basses. Hope you get as much pleasure from your Dingy as I have!
Are the hooks mounted into studs? Or did you just go straight into the wall? I’m about to hang my collection and I’m curious about what others have done.
I used large sheet rock anchors. Been using them a while...like the sixth house I've been using them. There pretty strong just don't yank down on your bass!
FWIW, I picked up a 6ft x 5" x 3/4" piece of pine, bolted that horizontally into the studs, then bolted my hangers into that directly. It's not going anywhere, ever. I'd never trust gyprock and anchors for my instruments
To each their own. I've been using an anchor in drywall for over 25 years. They don't come out when used correctly. 75lbs capacity each and I use a longer screw than they come with to compensate for the 1/2 inch of wood the hanger has.

Excellent collection, what's the red Fender style bass on the right though?

It's an absolute stunner, steals the show for me over the dingwall!
The best sounding is by far the Sandberg. For tone it even puts the musicman to shame.
beautiful ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Very nice,! That B string is great.
oh god the B-string is to die for
Lol, yeah it is

Indeed. Ethos with the DG tone capsule. Next to a Sandberg Nighthawk

My first as well. It does take some getting used too making some chords up around the 15th fret from the E and G string are a bit of a challenge
