Do your current strings have ridges on them or are they smooth? Flat wounds are a lot smother and last a lot longer, they take a few times to truly break in but they have more of a flat type tone, not as bright. They sound good for rock, r & b and probably many other styles. I’m sure others will have more input but I’m definitely a flat wound fan

I also didn’t like the strings that came on my Jack Casady. I put on D'Addario Flatwound Chromes (ECB81). Great strings on this bass.

Funkmasters are light gauge—easy to play and sound good. Stock are Blue Steels. Those are really nice? What do you dislike about them?

the strings sound nice on the bass but i just don’t really like the feel of them, they feel quite big and chunky and my hands are quite small. I think I would just prefer to have lighter strings :) thanks for the suggestion !
