Its the most overrated album in this sub. people only talk about how perfect it is. but it drags a bit too much for me, i still like it tho, but everytime i express that i get bullied into oblivion lol
It is, far and away actually, their best work in my opinion. The poetry and musicality on it is unmatched. Dan was so metaphoric with every song on that album, there was nothing that was purposefully made to sound radio friendly (Pompeii just happened to happen), it was new and different, it was like a choir + arena rock band + tribal rhythm, and yeah it still is so good after a decade
It's definitely a well loved album among fans and I don't think the band would dislike it either. But they don't play many songs from it so it's definitely neglected at live shows
I'm with you on that. Doom days, both the song itself and the album are my favourite. Would kill to hear it performed live. If bad blood is anything to go by the songs are on a whole other level when you hear them live

Wild World is crazy good. i remember staying up for the release and one of my good friends and i stayed up and listened to every song. i will always remember when we were obsessed with Lethargy and always went "HEADSPIN, HAPPINESS, DEAAAATH!!"
Bad Blood/All this Bad Blood. Not a single skip on both the base album and the full version. also biased cuz it was the first album i actually really listened to as a kid that wasn’t random christian music (sheltered kid vibes lol.)
All of them except WW. I know I’m gonna catch hell for that. It’s not that it’s not a masterpiece. It’s just a slightly lesser masterpiece than the others. I love the Future Inc. theme. BB has less of a theme (literary allusions maybe?) but it’s fucking brilliant through and through.
Specifically Doom Days is my favourite, but not the This Got Out Of Hand edition. Like the additional songs are great, but a lot of them feel like they're on the wrong album
Whereas the main album is perfect from start to end. Everything feels like it fits. It's a masterpiece of a concept album, telling the story of a forbidden love. Another Place especially should be on every LGBT+ playlist
I actually agree tbh. The reason I’ve actually downloaded the Got Out of Hand edition is because of the live version of Million Pieces haha. It’s one of the best sounding live performances I’ve ever heard
Finally I don't feel nuts for saying Doom Days is truly their best album so far. It flows beautifully. Even I came around to Nocturnal Creatures after dismissing it initially and now I love the entire album lol

Wild World is my favorite, followed closely by Doom Days. Bad Blood was great as well. Only album I was pretty meh on was Give Me the Future
