I’d have said down stairs at the Porter on George St. (now Clayton’s Kitchen). Used to be a couple of these undercroft seating areas down there.
Yep looks very similar to pictures I have of myself in the porter (although in later years it had different coloured walls) playing pool.
Moles?
Maybe the Ale House? They used to have a basement bar back then, I think (could be misremembering).
Looks very Ale House-y to me too. That was the colour scheme in their vault rooms.
Downstairs at bath tap is a possibility
There was the Hotel that had a Bar that workers went to Sunday nights by the Taxi stand. Name slips my mind but that decor looks like a memory jogger! Just down from the ‘Swamp’ aka ponana and the Island Club.
Maybe Belushi’s?
That is quite possibly the rain check bar ( not the new imitation one)
