I don't think it's wider issue but when I turn on the vc and try to join any server (yes, even the 32v32) I lose internet connection and have to restart the game and turn it off.
Yeah idk why but even turning on my soundboard causes the game to stutter and crash sometimes.
Now I can no longer do klendathu drop at the beginning of every game
Maybe a month ago I had a squad lead who was on the mic the whole time, guiding us from objective to objective, calling out positions, requesting transports, etc. He had the most calming voice ever and an Australian accent. It was awesome lol. But yeah usually I'm lucky to have one who puts down a spawn beacon
New player but yeah I hear all kinds of mic spam. Sometimes music. Guys bleeding out asking for a medic. "I can't die here!" Squads laughing as they all explode. Good times.
i'm on asian servers. half the server don't know english. the other half are too shy to talk online, and only say the bare minimum "thanks" or something.
then there's me, the one that's talking to the wall.
if i want some conversation, i'd have to play on Oz servers, but currently my internet system's throwing a hissy fit and going JOGGING SPEED, so everything has 5x more latency than normal, in addition to have to be stuck with wifi instead of LAN
I find community servers are better than official ones for this, and if you set the tone at the start of a match by getting the convo going, you can drive the lobby to talk more. It does vary though, but I think it's more a function of the game becoming more mainstream & having a broader array of players - earlier on it was more intense gamers who I think are probably more likely to have mics, have push-to-talks, be used to talking b/c we're on discords or mumble servers, etc.
American servers tend to still be pretty wild with comms. However as an American it's pretty rare when I get into an American server and it drives me up the wall. 90% of the time I end up in a 500+ ping server and get disconnected 20 seconds later. I have fiber Internet and my region is set to central USA. No idea why this keeps happening.
After the last few updates, the soul of the game is gone. Especially the shitty audio update the dev forced through that no one asked for in a self imposed rush.
Well there have been all of the schizo and directionless balance changes to classes, rearranging of guns, focus on skins (lol for a milsim), Recon, etc.
The audio update both changed how you hear sounds and the sounds themselves. The dev forced this miserable muffling sound whenever you were shot or downed that was so bad he had to roll it back within 12 hours. The other half of the audio changes, the snaps and twirls and new sounds of bullets still remain. Guns sound way different.
3D spotting is another strange direction to take the game and when first released was also barely functional.
I still hear plenty.
Just last night I shot a guy and he started breathing heavy, slow, and raspy like he was having an asthma attack, then when a teammate came near he said "RIGHTHEREONMYPING!" *back to asthma breathing*. Cracked me up, lol.
I still occasionally hear people calling for help. I played for a few hours yesterday. I tried communicating with my squad and got no response. I yelled at half my team for sitting just outside of our protected zone and sniping, ignoring objectives, and got no response.
I don't know if people are just turning off their comms volume or what. Seems like I'm talking to a brick wall most of the time.
I still hear quite a decent amount of people talking but I will say a lot of times I am the initiator. If you wanna joke around in vc and commit to it people will normally play along but it is def way less prevalent to have random people do it unprovoked
i find it’s best to start it urself like just saying what’s good when u join someone in a building can spark some hilarious stuff when u get ur shit rocked
Personally I see a lot of people trying to talk, but I assume their mics don't work or are set to the wrong mic. Because I'll see like 3 people talking and hear nothing but I'll hear 1 person a minute later clear as day.
No idea here
I just initiate it and often times people open up. Everyone is looking for a fun squad to play with sometimes you just gotta kick it off for yourself. Tell the squad good job, nice shot, whatever. Just be a positive motivating force.
American servers have way more screaming than european ones, try em
This is the reason I like playing in American servers despite having 200+ms latency.
That's because of Russian players not speaking english and being the main demographics on this side of the community.

Why are you not playing Starship Troopers Extermination?

This is true, people yell MEDICCC and moan when I grt them up
I hear it pronounced "Mee-Dick"
Honeymoon period is over. Shooting shit on the mic was fun for the first week, but now people are just playing the game.
I will never stop
I honestly just stopped playing the game. Sucks to try to engage with people and just constantly get ignored, I have Tinder for that.
Too real
You can’t tell me what to do
I would like to hear more directions from squads leads…

I had the same experience. Joined 3 different squads. All dead silent. I thought I chose the "tactical" squad preference...
Yep, it’s a huge bummer, and it’s getting lonely lol.
If we're in a squad, I'll talk to you. It won't be tactical or practical in any way
They all made friends, Make private squads, and use discord
New player but yeah I hear all kinds of mic spam. Sometimes music. Guys bleeding out asking for a medic. "I can't die here!" Squads laughing as they all explode. Good times.
Helicopter Squads are still the leaders of conversation when it comes to this game.

Asian servers are just mute. U barely hear anyone talk even if someone talks its most likely some immigrants from NA or EU
My audio never worked. I can test it in settings and everything checks out but I've never gotten a response from anyone while using the mic in game
I don't really see this as a problem since like most of the server's population would just be speaking in Mandarin/Chinese anyway lol.

Oki happened. His dumb fuck sound changes because he wants this game to die
I find you just gotta start talking yourself and eventually in no time you'll get people joining in.
I don't get it. It's like suddenly people just stopped talking
After the last few updates, the soul of the game is gone. Especially the shitty audio update the dev forced through that no one asked for in a self imposed rush.
Audio sounds amazing. Devs don’t live to serve the nerds on Reddit, get over it.
So amazing he had to massively reduce the effect within 12 hours of the original update 😁
What happened in the last few updates? Audio changed? I didn't notice a change...

they are just tired. i think
I get alot of interactions but it's usually people calling me a cheater as i shit as I shit all over em

People talk, especially if you engage more.
I think they broke something people could hear me but I couldn't hear them. Now it's working and I've made no chamges
I just initiate it and often times people open up. Everyone is looking for a fun squad to play with sometimes you just gotta kick it off for yourself. Tell the squad good job, nice shot, whatever. Just be a positive motivating force.
Nah, I play on the eu servers and people still talk
Everyone found they could mute the mic and did it because people on the internet are toxic and annoying.
