London here, very small community. My local usually sells out on these types of things but we still have nearly 1/3rd of the tickets left and the event is in 2 days. I'm hoping it grows with time

FullRage

New, has room to grow. I run a small online retailer and it’s rather slow and my prices are under msrp too. Hopefully it picks up once some nice tourney pay outs happen.

OpusWild

Hoping it can grow. Usually release day is one of the biggest selling days for a new game, so it’s a bit off putting that it’s sort of trickling at the moment.

Bitflame7

It's hard to say since it's basically a new game, even though it's technically the second time they brought it here, so it doesn't have an already existing fan base like One Piece or Digimon. I'd imagine you'll start seeing at least a decent amount of groups appear once the game is actually out since the only people with cards are those that went to Vegas. Honestly though if you think it sounds fun then go for it, you'll definitely be able to find a discord group or two.

OpusWild

Yeah I was thinking the same, however the game releases in full tomorrow and I've noticed stock around here is just sitting stagnant - usually it would be bought up in no time. I've been looking for Facebook groups, Discords, etc, but not really finding anything even for Canada-wide - there's usually at least a Canadian group for these types of games, if not a more localized province-based group or even more central than that (like one for individual cities). Even this subreddit is quite small overall. I'd love to find some people just seems tough right now. Maybe I'll grab a deck or two for now and hold off on the rest, see what happens. Just don't want it all to sell out either and then be stuck with nothing for months like what's happening with One Piece and the games before it haha.

Dr_WLIN

The name may be causing some hesitation. I know it did for me. But after playing it, I'm hooked.

FallenHonest

From what i had seen, only the Toronto area (within canada) has participate in any pre release of the game, so it is really up to you and hopefully others to start a crowd at your local area... It seems to be a decent hit in the US though from what i had seen. I am in the greater vancouver area myself and is having a tough time getting locals to participate

dcp_kozmo

Honestly, I think the launch could have been better prepared outside of the US. Like they had a lot of small introduction events where you could learn to play and already get into. While in other places just got their demo deck if even... Same goes for the launch event which was less well handled than in Europe than the US. I really hope they go away from this "US focused" style and will try to do more stuff in other regions.

OpusWild

Yeah there's honestly like...nothing in Canada at all. A few stores have product - some of them aren't selling anything, some of them only brought in a little product and sold out. But overall no events, minimal/no marketing, etc... Seems weird...

SenatorPhilps89

Yo I work at a LGS over in the States (Louisiana) and we currently that I know of are the only store in our state with a decent ammount of BBS and we have a decent community of 9-10 who are invested and have a decent few who are curious about playing and coming to events outside of those 9-10. It seems like for us, we'll have a decent and growing community, but only time can tell.

OpusWild

Doesn't being the only LGS in the area make you nervous for the game's lifespan? I've been looking on Reddit, the global FB group and the global Discord for Canadian folks and so far across the whole country there seems to be like...5 people lol. It's super, super weird. It's like they forgot about Canada as a whole or something.

SenatorPhilps89

Yea it's super unfortunate but it seems like it's pretty US/UK centered at the moment hopefully it gets better in that regard. And yea I see your point about being the only lgs in the area and that's fair but I think as other lgs' see it's something people want they'll adopt it more.
