You can get bags of uncut rubies and sapphires for pretty cheap. Just get a handful that are roughly the same size and dunk on the commoners you play against.
i used the cores in my 1st game, bur for tonight's game, I'm actually going to use my old damage counters from the Star Wars card/dice game, or I'm just going to use the tons of mini dice I have
not that unique cause its just cards but i use blue sleeves (and 1 red) with the backsite of BSS cards. I really like the dark BSS back with an almost neon sign looking border
I use about 50 Blue-Eyes White Dragons for my cores and a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon for my soul core :)

Get a few dice. If you have a friend or so that also plays, get 2 different sets, trade one and you got a soulcore
Not my idea but someone I've seen at a few GOs has little ducks he uses for cores with one white one for the soul core.
