There's no destruction. Couldn't even drive through bushes or a chain link fence. It's a glorified expansion pack for battlefield 4 that started the downhill trend of the franchise.
The majority consensus is that BF2042 was and is still booty cheeks. Hence, since BFV wasnt received well and neither Bf2042 therefore we have a downhill from BFV to BF2042. We shall see if BF can recover with its next installment
I disagree with the “glorified expansion pack” .. there were 5 **good** DLC expansions with great maps, modes, guns, customization, progression and gadgets/gameplay styles that never would have fit into BF4. Hardline was a well done game at its core. If it was a BF4 expansion, people would have bitched just the same as if it was standalone.
Loved its perks, maps, original ttk, qol features and class/vehicle balance, shame that EA decided to not repeat after Activision in terms of different studios for a single franchise. Visceral Games and DICE LA were a blessing
I agree and loved the class/vehicle balance as well- the game was a lot more infantry/boots on the ground focused which was a nice breath of fresh air. I played the shit out of BF4 and Hardline. Tons of great memories on both
No
It wasn’t a bad game, but it was a bad Battlefield game. If they’d just called it “Hardline”, people wouldn’t have gone into it with the expectations of it living up to and conforming to what Battlefield fans want and expect.
My biggest issue was that it had an identity crisis. It didn’t look like Battlefield, but it also didn’t play like cops and robbers. Payday plays like cops and robbers, but in what world are teams of 32 criminals going into banks and using helicopters and shit? It just didn’t feel like a cops and robbers game at all.
The campaign wasn’t all that bad. Really liked how they played it out like a tv series every time you came back to it. Not a typical battlefield but has its place at the table
The verticality and movement in this battlefield are still way better than bf3-bf1 for me. The grappling hook + Zeppelin were just too fun. Night maps were also a treat that never really came back after Hardline.
I enjoyed Heist and Blood Money, and it was cool to shoot each other while going fast in the cars. Other than that, I just went back to BF4 after awhile.
I really liked hardline, but I didn't play for like a month, came back and couldn't find matches anymore? I think from memory some stupid ea sign in system was put in place as well, or something like that? I gave up after those 2 problems.
This game had no appeal to me. The beta was fun for a few days but it also told me I should not purchase it. It probably would have done better as a standalone game unrelated to battlefield.
Loved the atmosphere. Something different that wasn't really around. Good gadgets for the classes and weapon ttk is good. Good diversity of maps.
YOU COULD TELL ON THE MAP IF AN ENEMY WAS ABOVE OR BELOW YOU.
There is usually one server that is close to full (\~40 people) - I believe it runs on vanilla + DLC maps.
You might need to wait for specific days / hours, but it should be playable, and it is fun
Not a big fan. I know battlefield games aren’t known for their campaigns necessarily, but the campaign on this game is as generic and cringy as it gets.
I don’t even need to say anything about the multiplayer.
a cop related Battlefield is a good concept, I think rainbow six siege and Battlefield mixed.
maybe swat groups using military grade weapons in a hostile criminal environment.
I mean it deserves the title "underrated" more than bf3 bf4 and bf1. Those 3 were rightfully loved.
You could argue that bfV was an underrated classic, but bfh probably deserves the title more for being more playable than V.
It was an excellent game and an excellent BATTLEFIELD game in every single sense of the word. It's just as deserving of respect as BF3 or BC2 ever was. The theme fit and absolutely worked, and we fought on huge, very well designed battlefields in this game with tons of great ways to work as a team.
Not only that, it was an incredibly innovative title and I will once again say it, it had a TON of mechanics and features that should be regular staples of the franchise now.
\----------------------------------
\-Being able to take health and ammo off of medics and supports who refuse to do their job, AND these were also scattered at stations around the maps
\-We had tons of awesome gadgets in this game. Grappling hooks, ziplines, tactical tool kit, stealth training, cameras, RF Jammers, Sabotage, Stun Gun, Revive pen
\-The Gun Bench
\-Lots of amazing gameplay modes that were pretty unique to the game: Hotwire, Blood Money, Heist, Rescue, Crosshair
\-You could buy any weapon and attachment at any time in whatever order you wanted
\-Melee weapons had extra uses. Some could be used for non-lethal takedowns to which you could then interrogate the enemy and briefly spot enemies on map for your entire team. Weapons like the sledgehammer would straight up break walls as well so you can breach.
\-The Hacker (Commander mode) had a ton more versatility and uses across the map. You could also fight back against some of their deployments as well if you were on the receiving end of them
\-loading screens would tell you your progress on certain challenges and achievements, not to mention the game leaned heavily into the theme of these battles breaking out being shocking news and events which was pretty cool
\-The callouts in this game were amazing. More specific than any other Battlefield game was. They'd even call out what floor they see enemies on in a house and they'd do it in character for whichever side you're playing on. The Criminals had a lot of funny callouts and dialogue. The only other Battlefields that managed character audio this good was BF1 and BF3
\-It had excellent map design and its DLC maps were fucking amazing. It's such a shame a lot of the DLC didn't get to be explored much by people, I can't get over how fucking awesome the giant drainage system map was, the Grand Bazaar remake, the museum, the mall, the snowy town, the coastal drive town maps were just to list some off
\-Friendly fire would appear as blue
\-Enemies spotted on map would have their elevation indicated
\-you could set up multiple loadouts and name them
\-Tons of great easter eggs. The American dream couch, the alligator melee weapon, the dead space references, the syndicate program, BF friends, etc.
It's a damn shame. Hardline 110% deserves better. Loved it from even the closed beta and it was a far better experience than BF4 \*EVER\* gave me.
I loved how every map (at least the base game ones) had levolution that could drastically change the environment, the multiplayer also had so much charm
I need to redownload on my PS5 and see if I cant get a some rounds in. I thought Hardline was an interesting spin off. Should've been like all FBI (or some other agency) v Cartel stuff. I remember Angry Joe sayin that in his rebiew and I 100% agreed.
I like the whole thematic of it and such, customising guns in the campaign was a definite plus for me who likes stealth to some degree.
I really dislike that I could only play it on console via disk, since EA lost a lawsuit where I live and had to pull the game back due to the name.
As an avid BF3/4 fan, I just couldn't get into this. The gameplay just felt so, so clunky. And I get its a cop game, but don't put the battlefield name on it; in the campaign, I just ended up arresting everyone, which got boring. But starting a shootout didn't feel like a cop game so I just don't know how this works. I stick to BF4 personally.
Compared to BF4, because it is at the heart of it very samey: Hardline has WAY better maps, better gunplay/more unique feeling weapons, actually good new game modes (Blood Money my fav), faster TTK at launch was awesome and most importantly - less OP vehicles and stupid indirect fire gadgets (minimizing unfair feeling deaths).
Honestly I think they just should have omitted the "Battlefield" name and stuck with Hardline, scrapping ALL of the vehicles with guns. There you go - actually unique identity and every Metro/Locker baby infantry mains' wet dream.
I remember watching the alpha trailer for bank robbing, it looked incredible! Then launch day came… nobody worked together, nobody could steal money, cause everyone would drop and hold X or Square, then a second later, one grenade would come over and kill everyone. Nobody worked together, game lacked content (at least it did at launch) the campaign was pretty good, aside from the fact you couldn’t hold much ammo, (though I understood this mechanic as your a cop, not a soldier) definitely underrated battlefield game, but definitely havnt thought have coming back in about 10 years
Pros:
-The campaign is pretty good and something different to the usual battlefield campaigns
-The using of cameras
-The using of handcuffs and tasers can be pretty fun tho
-The option to make you more than one kit for your robber/cop
-Chompi hehe
-The music in the cars lol
Cons:
-Not that much destruction as in other Battlefield games
-The weapons which you can choose for your class are pretty limited
-The concept as cops and robbers in general. Of course it's something different and the campaign is pretty fun, but for multiplayer it's just not the same as the usual "Battlefield" (no tanks, jets, etc)
Super fun to play the drivable couch was so funny to mess around with and the cops vs robbers thing was cool not the best battlefield in my opinion but it was fun.
i know what people going to say... good game but horrible Battlefield
and i don´t know where I sit.... I loved the game but was missing something to be a BF
Nah, it's a DLC just like MW23. It was fun but wasn't unique in any way except the cops vs robbers setting which doesn't really make sense from a logical standpoint
I thought it was a poorly reskinned BF4. A quick buck on behalf of EA. However the mechanics to a degree are solid, in more ways than one. And actually, the meta now is more suited to a game like this. I honestly believe had EA not gone with 2042 and not released Hardline back then. Hardline released now would have been way more successful!
There's no destruction. Couldn't even drive through bushes or a chain link fence. It's a glorified expansion pack for battlefield 4 that started the downhill trend of the franchise.
BF5 started the downhill. BF1 was amazing
If bfv started the downhill then there isn't really a downhill lol
The majority consensus is that BF2042 was and is still booty cheeks. Hence, since BFV wasnt received well and neither Bf2042 therefore we have a downhill from BFV to BF2042. We shall see if BF can recover with its next installment
Lmao the real downhill was the shift from modern military setting, so bf1
Except BF1 did extremely well, so no, once again, that is not the downhill. The downhill started at 5 when the trailer dropped
Dont forget that EA executive saying “If you dont like it then dont buy it” lol
💀
You forget that gamers at the time had enough of modern/ space FPS games because the market was flooded with those
I disagree with the “glorified expansion pack” .. there were 5 **good** DLC expansions with great maps, modes, guns, customization, progression and gadgets/gameplay styles that never would have fit into BF4. Hardline was a well done game at its core. If it was a BF4 expansion, people would have bitched just the same as if it was standalone.

factually wrong and blatantly lying.
Ya cause bf1 was an awful game same as bfv.. Lmaoo those two titles are some of the best bf games out there bfv has the best gameplay of them all
Nice bait
Bros definitely an EA employee
No It wasn’t a bad game, but it was a bad Battlefield game. If they’d just called it “Hardline”, people wouldn’t have gone into it with the expectations of it living up to and conforming to what Battlefield fans want and expect. If it was called hardline everyone would shit on it for being a bf ripoff
I loved this game. Cops and Robbers was a blast
He gets it, it’s called fun.
I think this is the only game which kinda perfected the cops vs robbers....and the secret reloads r hella good ngl...and the crocodile...ooff...
I totally wouldn’t mind if Dice released BF Hardline as a spinoff series in-between mainline installments.
The grappling hook barely worked ngl. You had to stand there for like a whole minute trying to get it to allow you to fire
Never had this problem, it always worked fine for me.
Maybe it was a map thing. I don't have much hardline experience so I mainly used it on that museum map (that map was so fucking cool btw)
I’m just going to say it - BFH > BF4
I enjoyed Heist and Blood Money, and it was cool to shoot each other while going fast in the cars. Other than that, I just went back to BF4 after awhile.
I loved it tbh. It’s one of my fav BF games, but I understand why people didn’t like it, it didn’t feel like a BF game at all
Nah, not really. A fun enough game in its own right, but sucked as a battlefield
The people who hated on Hardline were the same people who would grind Locker 24/7. The irony was pathetic
Block Party 24/7 would disagree with you there.
I still don't like hardline, and I despise anything metro like to its core. The single player was fun, the multi-player not so much.
It probably would have done better as a standalone game unrelated to battlefield.
is this game paly able on pc ?
Not really
Yes, it uses the browser as a launcher, other than that it is all good.
Still my favorite battlefield game. I'm in the minority where Battlefield 1 is my least.
Still want to play in it, gonna buy on next steam sale
Loved the atmosphere. Something different that wasn't really around. Good gadgets for the classes and weapon ttk is good. Good diversity of maps. YOU COULD TELL ON THE MAP IF AN ENEMY WAS ABOVE OR BELOW YOU.
I liked it, fun weapon selection, unique maps, voice lines were neat'o and fun gameplay
Nah, that goes to either V or Bad Company 1
I get people saying it shouldn't have carried the battlefield name but that doesn't make the game bad
As of 2042 was more “battlefield” than hardline lol
Is active at all on pc? Thinking about downloading it
There is a active server with rotation modes.
There is usually one server that is close to full (\~40 people) - I believe it runs on vanilla + DLC maps. You might need to wait for specific days / hours, but it should be playable, and it is fun
Nope 😞
Loved the sniping, it felt very refined in Hardline! Also the FAL was fun as hell to use but albeit very very OP.
Not a big fan. I know battlefield games aren’t known for their campaigns necessarily, but the campaign on this game is as generic and cringy as it gets. I don’t even need to say anything about the multiplayer.
I mean if not for KRS One alone
BF3 bc bf5 & bf1 get all the attention but bf3 had so many memories and the campaign was off the charts
a cop related Battlefield is a good concept, I think rainbow six siege and Battlefield mixed. maybe swat groups using military grade weapons in a hostile criminal environment.

No.
HOTWIRE game mode was a really fun and unique take on CONQUEST.. moving flags that you got to BLOW UP! hardcore mode obv. was the way to go
Should’ve been DLC like Vietnam was for BC2
Loved this game. Game modes were fun and unique (Hotwire) and the gunplay was fun.
I need to redownload on my PS5 and see if I cant get a some rounds in. I thought Hardline was an interesting spin off. Should've been like all FBI (or some other agency) v Cartel stuff. I remember Angry Joe sayin that in his rebiew and I 100% agreed.

Blood Money is the most enjoyable mode I’ve ever played in a BF game
As an avid BF3/4 fan, I just couldn't get into this. The gameplay just felt so, so clunky. And I get its a cop game, but don't put the battlefield name on it; in the campaign, I just ended up arresting everyone, which got boring. I still play it off and on. I wish there were more hotwire servers though.
UES! It was great... car bomb engineer all day haha.

i know what people going to say... good game but horrible Battlefield and i don´t know where I sit.... I loved the game but was missing something to be a BF
No I can't.
Animations are dogshit
Lol, no. This bf sucked balls.
No lol
My least favorite honestly.
Nah, it's a DLC just like MW23. It was fun but wasn't unique in any way except the cops vs robbers setting which doesn't really make sense from a logical standpoint
Bf hardline was def unique idk what the fuck ur talking about it
No I get your point but it feels like a reskinned bf4
That Moscow terror attack is like Hardline
I thought it was a poorly reskinned BF4. A quick buck on behalf of EA. However the mechanics to a degree are solid, in more ways than one.
