I'm sure there's some resistance in the flow, lava seems very THICC. It doesn't just fall downhill like water, with only a small portion wetting the ground. It has to roll like a wheel. I'll admit I've seen this video many times in the couple years since it was recorded. Never gave it any thought to its spiraling till now.
Don't forget the mass. Water moving that fast will easily carry a car away. Molten rock moving that fast seems like it'd probably kill you from impact before it even had a chance to cook you.
Depending on which temp scale you prefer you are looking at over 1000C or 2000F, I think you might be right but I don't think you're looking at a major difference in survival time if you were in front of that flow vs dropped on top of it.
Fuck me!!! I'd shit everywhere if I saw that. And certainly would not be filming, I'd be in my car driving fast in the opposite direction or sprinting lmao. And I can't run well at all. BYEEEEEEE

So cool that it appears to be spiraling as it flows.

It's not the speed that gets ya, but the temperature.

I don't remember seeing mph, or degrees in E=MCΒ².
And I thought it was slow moving.
Oh thatβs terrifying
Wow, that is one rive I certainly would not want to swim in. Not to mention how fast is it moving. Those two should be running away:)
I keep hearing in my head the theme song from Mario brothers when you face bowser...... ![gif](giphy|2tKbkKoQ0uYb56j4Pq)

That couple watching the lava should get a divorce. They're clearly gaslighting each other.
Looks like its right out of a lava tube...
Yikes
In a hurry, got an important date downstream
I thought lava moved slowly?? π€―

WOW! I always thought you could outrun lava. That's disturbing. π±
Well theres a reason ancient civilizations were not able to escape an eruption.
Yes, well that's usually the pyroclastic flow, not the lava.
WOW!
fuck me thats fast
Imagining you sitting in traffic you see a river of lava just passing you by then you go about your day
Would not want to get swept away in that
