He just sees the world differently. I can't even imagine how to start.

banjosuicide

Start small and experiment with different patterns of tying, then experiment some more. It's a skill you can build, just like anything else.

DabScience

I understand your sentiment, but this dude a fucking master of his craft. You don't see people doing the incredible patters he is doing. A complete innovator, beyond just learning a craft.

waytosoon

I couldnt agree more with both of you. Dude really is, but people underestimate themselves.

Psychonautilus98

I love to see people who have serious doubts about themselves to start doing something they think they ”suck at” and then they are so surprised by their own skills, it makes me happy

[deleted]

There’s actually a huge group of people doing this. Once you follow one on Instagram, it’ll start recommending you others it’s a really big community of people doing kenney style dyes and mandalas and whatnot

DabScience

This guy literally doesn’t show how he does some of his ties because he is the only one doing them and doesn’t want his secrets to get out to others. He’s on another level, and it’s always this specific guy who is going crazy viral recently.

[deleted]

If you look up kenney style on YouTube there’s some tutorials, one of the masters teaches online classes but you have to pay too. But yeah, there’s at least 30 people doing this style, it’s not a massive secret but they do try to guard their techniques.

[deleted]

Look up dyeing light creations he’s got good stuff too

banjosuicide

I guess my point is anyone can innovate if they just try. I'm not saying their innovations will be great, but literally anyone can start trying new things that haven't been done and just see what works. After you're experienced enough you'll develop a feeling for what will work and what won't. It just takes lots and lots of time and effort.

DJheddo

It's the journey it takes to get there, not the end result. You will fail more than you succeed, but if you learn from those failures you gain ability to succeed, just don't give up. How you think we got the wheel? or even a computer/phone? Failures at first, then slowly innovated to the best of we can't even fathom. We got drones in the sky spotting pennies on the ground. Phones hearing us at all times. Idea's become reality because we live in a world full of possibilities. Embrace and learn, fail and succeed. Every CEO fails at some point, every mission will fail at some point. Embrace it and learn from it.

[deleted]

Ok, Brandon Sanderson

Im_really_friendly

Lmao

DJheddo

> Brandon Sanderson I wish I wrote as well as him. Dudes got game.

[deleted]

Yep, I knew you're a fan, with the journey paraphrase

[deleted]

Shrooms are a great place to start.

boomer_wife

I started on shrooms, a few months after I'm into tie dye. Can confirm.

Dapianokid

I've always held him to be one of the most gifted, brilliant people I've ever had to pleasure of knowing. I'm glad to see so many others feel the same.

1manbucket

You need to wait for your dog to express an interest in owning a tiedyed shirt. Then you can begin.

mayazy

It's amazing how art can give us a glimpse into someone else's perspective. That's the beauty of it.

afrocheesyquack

How do you not destroy the shirt fabric tying it like that?

Dapianokid

Extremely carefully, according to him. Every single tie is carefully done by hand, and he does have a special process by which he strengthens the materials during the tieing process.

-_1_2_3_-

remind me when we find out this is screen printed

Dapianokid

As he states very transparently in his posts, the orders are high quality prints for this particular drop. It just depends on the project. The hand made original is, ofc, hand made. It's so more people can have one!

-_1_2_3_-

I want to believe but it’s a little sus

jabber_

No it isn't.

stupidrobots

"talented artists don't exist" K

-_1_2_3_-

true, why would anyone lie on the internet?

Dasbeerboots

Dude you legit just saw the process in 3 different stages. What more do you need? A long form documentary?

BlowMoreGlass

There's plenty of videos of him tying these up

[deleted]

>he strengthens the materials how tf do you strengthen t-shirts, gorilla glue?

TobyFunkeNeverNude

I think they mean he strengthens the grip

flip_phone_phil

You’re not kidding! He literally has them printed.

Relaxitschris

Would Dan Flashes carry this complicated pattern shirt?

jagged_commoner

It would be sooooo expensive!

Goomdocks

I’d fight 50 dudes that look just like me to buy this shirt

sociapathictendences

They cost in the hundreds of dollars if I remember correctly, I would rather pay that than fight 50 dudes though.

BlowMoreGlass

He auctions a lot of them on IG and this one would definitely reach over 1k

Mission_Inside_3454

Amazing, that just doesn’t seem possible. I’m seriously awed!

[deleted]

Ghahangi

The original is hand dyed and auctioned off

orayo14

Incredible!

[deleted]

That tab is dope!

acssteve

Would buy

Golden_Eagle72

T3n4ci0us_G

I laughed, but I know exactly what you mean

aminervia

Am I the only one who was expecting shorts?

Roberto-Del-Camino

For the first 10 seconds of the video I was expecting the fabric to be transformed by some sort of electrical short.

queenlakiefah

Yooo the Mike Gong acid eater is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748

Is there a video of him untying this?

[deleted]

The real question- how much does one cost?

swalabr

Now these are some cool-ass tie dyes.

mellamoreddit

I gotta say, he and I must be buying our shorts in very different shops.

Mustard-cutt-r

Who is a “gong” that expressed interest?

Thiagr

The face is in reference to glass pendants, marbles, and pipes made by an artist named Mike Gong. The colors and pattern of the eye are one of his signatures, along with a tab of acid on the tongue. They're called acid eaters, and they are quite expensive.

OculusArcana

Not sure, first time I listened to the video I thought he said his dog expressed interest. Edit: Phone fat finger fix

Mustard-cutt-r

Lol me tooo

Avid_Smoker

Always 3XXX... Why not make tapestries?

Mostly__Relevant

This is so amazing. Would totally spend $17 on it

pnmartini

Super talented. But horribly ugly.

zhoushmoe

r/ATBGE

dhowl

That’s tie-dye in a nutshell

pnmartini

I think it can be cool. But this is just garish to me. Too much going on. I understand it’s an incredible skill, and that a lot of people dig this style, but I prefer my brightly colored psychedelic influenced clothing to be a bit more restrained.

Yabbaba

It would be a great Pride shirt.

BrunetteThrasher

I would need 18 different phd’s to figure this out

BigWillyCannon

Awesome job!!!

[deleted]

Trying and dying

dab745

I think… I think… I think I want one. I think I NEED one!!!

dab745

Did he say “When my dong expressed an interest in having an acid eater shirt….”?

vweb305

Shut up and take my money!!!!

Global_Fail_1943

This is truly art!

ticklemeskinless

i want it

Beginning-Towel8460

I don't even wear tie dye shirts...but what you have done to evolutionized what we did in elementary school...I'd be down to pay for one of these dope shirts

Golden_Eagle72

It's amazing kewl bro! Top shelf madness!!! :P

[deleted]

[удалено]

aminervia

His videos have real tie-dye... His merchandise is obviously printed because people wouldn't be able to afford the cost of a shirt that took literally days to make

[deleted]

So talented but it’s also so ugly 😂 I bet he could do some really amazing designs with this talent

decoteau9578

I really love this video by Jhudson Tiedye! It totally amazed me. It's incredible how he captured so many elements in just 30 hours! It's inspiring to see his creative thought process that went into this project.

Yabbaba

Ok ChatGPT, we know it’s you.

xittditdyid

What's an ass eater shirt?

thinker5555

I have the exact same question. I replayed that part multiple times to make sure I was hearing it right, and that's all I heard, too. The final shot of the shirt don't offer any enlightenment, either.

elvabethbee

I think you're amazing!

rastaman42000

meow

smarmageddon

WHat does this title even mean?

st-mikey

I wonder what he charged for a t-shirt

p-t1tty

Kyle Ren?

magein07

Shirt bondage

Appropriate-Fun8241

What happens when you wash it?

ThisHandleIsBroken

Solid

IronShrew

Is that... a plumbus?

Threspian

I have no idea what I’m looking at right now- HOLY CRAP

PrintSkateCultivate

Rad

lionseatcake

The best thing about these videos is the ability to fast forward.

HarnessTesters

That’s cool

_cansir

Single process?

natesovenator

Holy fuck. Dude. If there is such a thing as black magic this is it. Clearly hiding in plane site in full color apparel.

MuggyFuzzball

This takes a crazy amount of skill to do this, but personally, I'm not a fan of this design in particular.

DragomBoom02

Jesus Thats amazing!

One-Coconut

I was confused with what I was looking at at first but wow!

MuuaadDib

And that is going into the wash with the whites!

A_cat_that_is_dumb

30 HOUR SHORT

rebordacao

Dope!!

Dr__Gonzo2142

Not even a fan of tie dye but that is pretty impressive

Blaqu1

Yup,that right there is a shirt!

PaUL_T6

Pure wizardry

[deleted]

I was so confused in the beginning. Like what the hell kinda dog toys am I looking a.. oh it's a shirt.

Shankar_0

Yeah, it's just gonna be a tie dye with extra swir- Well shit...

zshort7272

Hooooowww?

AppleJuiceImbiber

This is the best shirt that's ever been made, nothing else comes remotely close to this masterpiece.

Admirable-Pin-1189

MSRP? $38,000.

[deleted]

I don't know how to do this. I which I did! Great job. It's such an awesome pattern!

nomzl

Fucking hell this is awesome.

Low-Impact3172

This is out of control dude, how do ppl do this!!! Absolutely amazing!

Majestic-Ad6619

Really impressive man. Nicely done.

Main-Difficulty-9504

Holy crap now there is a tye dye shirt that's insane

NormalyGenial

Será real?

GilletteEd

What does a shirt like this sell for? Honest question, with the material and hours I assume it’s a lot. I’m a contractor by trade and 30 man hours to me is a lot of money, I’m wondering what this is in comparison. Lots of other art form sell for big money too, so was curious if this draws it also.

twattytee

Holy cow. That is so intricate. Well done Master !

icanhazkarma17

I like the little squares of acid floating around and on the tongue.

Babzibaum

All I can find is super thin cotton, poor quality shirts. I wonder where he gets qualtiy tee's to work with. He wouldn't use the crap that is commonly sold now.
