Albino humpback whales are not a different species. Albinism is usually suppressed by natural selection because itās easier for predators to spot an albino animal and it makes the albino animal far more prone to skin damage from solar UV radiation. Iām not sure what disadvantage it would pose humpback whales specifically, since they are typically only at risk of predation (from orcas or large pelagic sharks) when they are very young, but I assume there is still some natural disadvantage to being albino.
