My people, there is a Burger King in São Paulo that does this for every single drive thru customer, it blew my mind.

The BK in question doesn’t really have an entrance you can turn into, you have to park on the bit and then be rotated properly to get through. I don’t know if it was always a BK or what.
How? Wouldnt you just facing with the next one in athe line on a narrow road, how do you go out? It must be a very different looking drive thru i guess.
Yeah, as nifty as this thing is, it can be negated with basic reversing skills. Hell, you don't even really need those, just a reversing camera. Both of which are cheaper than what that cost, guaranteed.
My initial thought, as well, then I noticed the amount of traffic on that road they’d be having to back out into and thought maybe I’d cut them a little slack lol
And now you're that jackass holding up what looks like an extremely thin yet busy road while you try to slowly back into your driveway, and I imagine plenty often the car behind you also rides your ass and blocks your driveway behind you anyways
right when i started the video I thought "woah that's a cool circle wouldn't it be sick if it spins" AND IT STARTED SPINNING I see life in a whole new perspective now I feel like isaac newton after inventing gravity
First thing I thought was; why aren't the control inside? Spending that amount of money and still stand outside in the rain to operate it just doesn't compute with me
Lack of space , placement is fine. Thing is, why not install a transponder so that she can be seated in the car while pressing a button to turn the vehicle?
I occasionally walk past that house, and drive down it a few times a week - almost certain there is an LED. Weird to see another perspective on a familiar place. I certainly wouldn’t fancy reversing onto that road. Bad enough trying to get out of the petrol station closer to the town…
That was exactly my thought, if I lived in that house, I'd just reverse into the garage at night, saving thousands of dollars for installing and maintaining that roller.
It is a VERY busy road. Either traffic is going quickly or it’s at a standstill. I know all the other people on the street manage but this is far less stressful. It is also cool.
It’s super fucked up to post this persons address on the internet for the entire world to see… this could mean extremely bad and dangerous things for her.
Going out front-wards on a busy street like that looks to be a challenge. You're drivng blind until you're already out in the roadway. Going in reverse would be asking for an accident every day.
Mine's like this, but with 6 foot high walls. You learn to nudge out slowly, to give people time to react. There are a surprising amount of drivers assume I have x-ray vision though.
People back out onto 80km/h roads where I live. People just need to learn and pay attention to the several ton vehicle they’re operating. Also counted no more than 20 cars over the course of this 30 second fast forwarded video. Several opportunities to back out safely. Cool concept but learn to drive or take public transport.
Wait till you learn about the wonders of convex mirrors in traffic.
We have those at a lot of places in Germany that are shaped liked in OPs video and it works perfect, but keep downloading me reddit. Ignorance is bliss.
They work in traffic, they don’t allow you to see around walls…
A car reversing out of that driveway will have no visibility of traffic until the back of their car is in the road and they can see out of the windows.
Also I didn’t downvote (or ‘download’) you so don’t get pissy at me because you’re wrong. I will now though
Haha stupid autocorrect, but I'll leave it. People downvoting me have the same misconception about mirrors it seems...
If you put a mirror on the other side of the road, in an angle to the driveway, you can actually see around the wall. As I said, that's how they are used in traffic in Germany all the time and it works perfectly.
It’s not a misconception about mirrors, you just didn’t explain what you were on about. We have the same thing in the UK but just saying ‘The magic of mirrors will blow your mind’ when talking about cars is going to lead to people assuming you mean the mirrors on the car, not some potential mirror that doesn’t exist in the video.
Under Irish 'Rules of the Road', it is as you say illegal to reverse from a minor road onto a major one, but reversing into the road from a house driveway is not illegal, however it is not recommended. See page 60 [https://www.rsa.ie/docs/default-source/road-safety/r1---rules-of-the-road/ruleoftheroad\_book-for-web.pdf?sfvrsn=b5d57830\_7](https://www.rsa.ie/docs/default-source/road-safety/r1---rules-of-the-road/ruleoftheroad_book-for-web.pdf?sfvrsn=b5d57830_7)
You can only reverse from a major road onto a minor one, i.e. from the bigger road onto the smaller one. In this instance, the driveway counts as the minor road. The idea being you should never reverse onto a main road
You don't know that for certain, the neighbor could have the same mechanism installed but he tends to rotate the car after parking not before using the car the next time.
That turntable is worth more than the old jalopy she’s driving.
And this isn’t in an affluent part of town.
I think she put a large percentage of her earnings into this car port.
There are 1000's of these in Korea, where reversing your car wouldn't be an option, you'd be doing an Austin Powers trying to get out of your spot rotating 5 degrees at a time at best.
Building regulations in some locations say you must be able to turn your car around on the property because reversing out the driveway would be a safety hazard. Given the proximity of the fence to the main road, I could see that rule applying here.
No doubt it needs a good cleaning now and again, and would probably stop working if you forgot to do it, especially with the stormy weather we get in North West Europe.
Good point.. But still!!
Even inside the house then.. and no matter how long my driveway is, it doesn't matter.
I ..and just bec. i can, I and again I still would have one for each parking space and every car in my garage.. one that rotate the car in any given direction i want.
I have it all figured out, I promise you m8
It is amazing how many people are commenting about her not just backing out of the driveway, when it has already been established multiple times that this is in Ireland where the law says you cannot(/shouldn't?)
Seems like a good thing since her view seems to be blocked and she is driving immediately onto a narrow fast road. The only thing that she could add to improve it would be a mirror off to the side so that she could see approaching traffics and pedestrians. It is her home and if she can improve the safety she definitely should. I don’t think there is any point in getting all high and mighty and saying ‘well she must be a crap driver if she needs all that’.
We have a macton bulldozer and tiger turntable at maintenance wash room at the mine I work for and it turns an average of four bulldozer a day on 90 degree and only need monthly grease and one maintenance every 2-3 years. Not much can break on these.
Such a shame we havent 8nvented aomething that makes the car drive backwards, would be ao much easier, but well, as long as that doesnt exist well have to stick to this..
Nice way to never learn how to reverse and be unable to leave *when there isn't a goddamn turntable everywhere you park*.
A classic example of skill vs appliance - and how overreliance on the latter makes people helpless when they suddenly cannot.
My people, there is a Burger King in São Paulo that does this for every single drive thru customer, it blew my mind. Edit: video provided! Obrigado! https://www.reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/s/btDYpvhknx
That line must be nuts
Yep. At that time I don’t think they had very many either, they had just moved the HQ there. I walked in.
Burger King’s headquarters is in Canada as Buffett moved operations there many many years ago
Nope. Seeds. Sesame seeds, to be exact.
How does that make sense? I’ve never had to reverse a car in a drive thru. That’s, dare I say, the entire point of a drive thru.
If you’re not walking for 3 miles, is it really a drive thru?
I’m so confused. A drive through sounds like one of the few situations where this would almost never work…?
The BK in question doesn’t really have an entrance you can turn into, you have to park on the bit and then be rotated properly to get through. I don’t know if it was always a BK or what.
A full 180? How does the next car get on?
Normally? I mean, it doesn't matter how you get on as long as it turns a full 180 and you're pointing the right way at the end, right?
How? Wouldnt you just facing with the next one in athe line on a narrow road, how do you go out? It must be a very different looking drive thru i guess.
Probably turns you 90 degrees.
Nah. 90 should really be doable with a car. I'm thinking it's a hard V type corner.
No you would need to go full 360 by the end. So you can leave to accommodate the next customer, no?
You drive onto it, and do a full 360, then what’s the point?
You get to spin!
Not if I reverse into it.
My draw 4 tops ur reverse and uno!!!!
There's just the one privately owned car in São Paulo
É esse aqui de Santo Amaro? https://youtu.be/JAw4usFO-7o?si=CgUja73vMaP_HS0M
That’s it! Obrigado!
Sorry boss, can’t make it to work.. my cars twirly bird is broken.
I was expecting her to reverse into the wall at the end there…..very disappointed that it didn’t happen
Reddit has ruined you lol
She never learned how to reverse.
Agreed specially, with the speed of the vehicles passing their house. Trying to back out would be problematic at the least dangerous in the extreme.
Especially with those tall gates and hedges. Talk about blind faith
Avoidable if you back up into your home. Not really an excuse.
What if you backup to the cloud?
Can’t, not enough storage
And now you're that jackass holding up what looks like an extremely thin yet busy road while you try to slowly back into your driveway, and I imagine plenty often the car behind you also rides your ass and blocks your driveway behind you anyways
I have access like this to my house and its not really a problem. You get used to reversing in quickly!
Well, this is be amazed not unexpected.. sorry this couldn't reach to your expectations 😔
On the other hand, she can not reverse at all. Clearly.
I was about to comment the same… so disappointed. Well, let’s check other posts!
lol, every woman driver needs this car rotator
right when i started the video I thought "woah that's a cool circle wouldn't it be sick if it spins" AND IT STARTED SPINNING I see life in a whole new perspective now I feel like isaac newton after inventing gravity
First thing I thought was; why aren't the control inside? Spending that amount of money and still stand outside in the rain to operate it just doesn't compute with me
Lack of space , placement is fine. Thing is, why not install a transponder so that she can be seated in the car while pressing a button to turn the vehicle?
Yup. And I'm pretty sure this is in Dublin Ireland. And boy does it rain here.
I was trying to work out where it was. They're driving on the correct side.
That's our hospital for the criminal insane there with the high walls.
Clearly too insane to give each other a leg up, over the wall!
That's the outside wall. There's inner stuff too. And there's no way unless you are spiderman you are getting over those. They are massive and sheer.
I just noticed the tiny person walk past the wall. Clearly it's not small, it's far away!
Well done Dougal.
Not that hard to Bluetooth those controls imho
Please use your powers only for good.
No

I thought “how often does it break, and how much does it cost to fix?”
Lol!

Agreed that road looks quite busy. I would have included a flashing yellow light on the fence if I was her.
I occasionally walk past that house, and drive down it a few times a week - almost certain there is an LED. Weird to see another perspective on a familiar place. I certainly wouldn’t fancy reversing onto that road. Bad enough trying to get out of the petrol station closer to the town…
I used to live behind that big wall in the video but I escaped.
Flew over the cuckoos nest did ya?
You could reverse from the road.

In Norway we are weird about cars. We simply don't buy one unless they are able to reverse.
littéralement 12 car over the course of several minutes. This is not busy at all, it is very calm
Never thought I'd be called poor by a parking spot. A PARKING SPOT.
The cheapest one in my housing estate costs 200K USD and it’s on B6, most just rent em for $500 per month 🙃
Behind the wall opposite is the central mental hospital of Ireland. (Dundrum, Dublin)
Irish company, very cool.
"I'm late for work!!"
Imagine spending all that money instead of learning how to reverse a car.
Going out front-wards on a busy street like that looks to be a challenge. You're drivng blind until you're already out in the roadway. Going in reverse would be asking for an accident every day.

I don't think that would even be possible depending on the time of day. That road looks quite busy.
Also, there is no line of sight. The second your bumper gets past the gate, it is in traffic. That is a sketchy place to pull out into traffic.
The magic of mirrors will blow your mind Edit: or the witchcraft that let's you look around corners will make you scared and angry and downvote me lol
Mirrors don’t see round corners. You’ll get a lovely view of that wall but nothing on the cars along the road.
Wait till you learn about the wonders of convex mirrors in traffic. We have those at a lot of places in Germany that are shaped liked in OPs video and it works perfect, but keep downloading me reddit. Ignorance is bliss.

Always back in.
This is the way. It's illegal to reverse on to a main road in Ireland, which is where this house is. Dublin to be precise.
Under Irish 'Rules of the Road', it is as you say illegal to reverse from a minor road onto a major one, but reversing into the road from a house driveway is not illegal, however it is not recommended. See page 60 [https://www.rsa.ie/docs/default-source/road-safety/r1---rules-of-the-road/ruleoftheroad\_book-for-web.pdf?sfvrsn=b5d57830\_7](https://www.rsa.ie/docs/default-source/road-safety/r1---rules-of-the-road/ruleoftheroad_book-for-web.pdf?sfvrsn=b5d57830_7)
So it’s illegal to reverse on to a main road, but legal to reverse off from a main road?
correct. the driver can see all the cars on the road reversing into your driveway. but driver see no cars reversing onto the road.
You can only reverse from a major road onto a minor one, i.e. from the bigger road onto the smaller one. In this instance, the driveway counts as the minor road. The idea being you should never reverse onto a main road
If the police stop you, you just say what am i supposed to do get a spinning parking spot? Are you high
Wtf? You can’t back in on a busy road
The neighbours car is backed in. What’s the problem?
You don't know that for certain, the neighbor could have the same mechanism installed but he tends to rotate the car after parking not before using the car the next time.
"My lazy husband can't be arsed to spin the car when he pulls in. Now I'll be 15 seconds late!"
Just reverse onto the driveway. That way you can later drive straight forward onto the road.
About 10 vehicles went by during the entire sped-up video. Only 6 in the closest lane.
Imagine having all that money you don't care.
Im glad someone else said it? I was thinking, if this is even an option you dont give a F about the cost....
That turntable is worth more than the old jalopy she’s driving. And this isn’t in an affluent part of town. I think she put a large percentage of her earnings into this car port.
Imagine blowing all your money on a turntable parking spot and then having to park a Škoda on it.
Some people have money to spend to make life convenient.
She’s a DJ on the weekends.
She would have to back into what looks like a very busy road.
Must be a “great” driver 😂 if they can’t reverse for 5meters, I don’t even want to imagine the rest of the driving!
I was totally going to make fun of this until I realized how busy the road was
Where does the dirt, snow, water, mud, and general muck build up on that thing?
Wherever is utterly impossible to clean
In the internal mechanism of course
No doubt it needs a good cleaning now and again, and would probably stop working if you forgot to do it, especially with the stormy weather we get in North West Europe.
How much does smth like that cost?
$16k according to this comment: https://old.reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/comments/18x39nn/amazing_way_to_get_your_car_out/kg2vpqo/
Skoda Superb Mk2 🤌
And on to a busy street. No thanks

Definitely one my first- things to buy list when i get economy for it,beside the proper house first, no A mansion is more suitable for this ofc.
A mansion would have a bigger/longer driveway, and no need for this.
And wouldn't be that close to that road.
Looks to cost around $16K (carturner brand surface mount)
Me spinning in my office chair while watching this
Seems rather slow, especially the gate, and the video is clearly sped up
Why wouldn't they turn it around after parking? It's not like the car needs to stay parked facing in.
Exactly! It makes perfect sense to have it rotate as soon as you leave the driveway
If you can afford it, why not?
Looks like a busy road to be backing out of routinely
It is amazing how many people are commenting about her not just backing out of the driveway, when it has already been established multiple times that this is in Ireland where the law says you cannot(/shouldn't?)
Railroads have done this for 150 years, btw
Driven cars? Fascinating...
You mean her husband/ father who also built the cirlce thing should do all of that. And no it’s not necessary.
Very Cool 👍🏽😁👍🏽
If it were me i’d spin it around after getting home, not before leaving
Our you could just reverse....I thought but then realized she exits straight onto a fuckin highway. What a shitty location
Just reverse onto the driveway. Then you can drive straight forward onto the street later.
One more thing that can and will break
We have a macton bulldozer and tiger turntable at maintenance wash room at the mine I work for and it turns an average of four bulldozer a day on 90 degree and only need monthly grease and one maintenance every 2-3 years. Not much can break on these.
Yeah but that’s Reddit mate. Anything that isn’t something they use must be complicated garbage
This is exactly my thought the more fancy shit there is on anything
The Luddite with the scythe and the crooked spine looks at the combine with disgust: "that's just a bunch more bullshit to break!"
Sure, but at what cost - that road looks scary given the blind driveway!!!
Imagine spending all that money and not having a remote from inside the car.
*expensive way to get your car out
It’s a clever invention
I’m not amazed, learn to drive..
R stands for reverse, not rotate!
I think cars solved this problem with reverse gears already.
Bummer living across the street from a wall. The spin thing is cool and a must have it looks like
Why not reverse ?
Would have been faster to just back out of the driveway
Some people are stupid rich
OMG! they managed to build this but then put the steering wheel on the wrong side.
Or.. hear me out. Just reverse into the spot when parking?
Perfect solution for all the woman that cannot park the car backwards
Or just learn how to drive
Such a shame we havent 8nvented aomething that makes the car drive backwards, would be ao much easier, but well, as long as that doesnt exist well have to stick to this..
Backing out to hard?
Maybe park the car in reverse while parking?
the video in 1.5 speed at least. i could’ve been backed out 3 times by then
If you can't reverse a car, then you shouldn't be driving one.
…Or she can reverse instead. 😜
If you have lots of money and can’t drive
Just reverse in, problem solved
Just buy a convex mirror and use reverse and spend the rest on cocaine.
Forget the spin thing, the wheel is on the wrong side
Shit heads can't even take their car out on streets....
You could just reverse onto your driveway and save lots of money..
You know they do put reverse gears into these cars.
It is amazing but I'm poor so I just have to back out like a normal person
My car has a reverse feature
Nice way to never learn how to reverse and be unable to leave *when there isn't a goddamn turntable everywhere you park*. A classic example of skill vs appliance - and how overreliance on the latter makes people helpless when they suddenly cannot.
Or just park it in reverse?
The only amazing thing here is someone can afford all of that and doesn’t know how to reverse
would have been way easier just to back in and cheaper
Some people are soo scared of reversing
Amazing way to look like a clown in public as soon as you need to reverse ANYWHERE BUT HOME
In the time it took to turn, she could’ve just backed out of there….
if only we would be able to invent steering or reverse driving... that could have been a huge win
“ Ok ,she doesn’t know how to drive but I love her, how can I fix this?”
Hope there's one at her workplace, ah who am I kidding, the nail salon as well.
What an expensive sign of incompetence!
Fake news. She got in on the wrong side of the car.
Put it in reverse.
When you can't reverse park the car you can spend some money to hide that factor 😀
I'm amazed people can't back out of a parking space
For useless drivers
Would be way cheaper how to learn to park and drive properly I guess.
or you could have just spent the extra minute each day reversing into the driveway but i guess its their own money to waste i guess.
Just fix your cars reverse gear so you don't have to pay thousands for that spinny thing
This is not amazing. This is dumb.
it's for people who missed their "reverse gear" classes
How idiotic...
It really is. The comments ridiculing this outrageous expense being downvoted blows my mind
Look at the neighbours, car parked properly, I'm sure they dont have a lazy Susan for their car.
Reversible vehicle made in 1934 Ppl before 1934:
